1 Chapter 1: The Abyss

"Burn her to ashes!"

"Slay the demon!"

Angry and accusing shouts of the villagers raged throughout the once peaceful town.

"You monster, you destroyed our home!"

"Vile creature! Return to where you belong."

The elves' faces were growing hotter and hotter, some were teary eyed as they remembered the ones they've lost. All of them were out for the monster's blood. Red rimmed eyes stared at the chained monster and... I stared back.

'You lot were never trustworthy beings. Acting so righteous yet actually despicable.'

"SILENCE!" A voice filled with power and authority silenced the crowd, "What do you have to say for yourself?"

Slowly, I looked at him — the man I gave my heart to; the one who shattered it to pieces. Striking features that were made by Gods yet a black heart that exceeds even the devil himself.

"I... I was a fool for believing a hypocrite," I uttered every word with hatred and mostly despair, "Besides, even if I try to explain you've already deemed me guilty."

"Very well then," his judgement began. "You killed many of our kind just to attain immortal beauty. You brought a plague in to our domain; the Gods have spoken and they need a sacrifice to placate their wrath. Therefore you shall be sacrificed to the Shadow Abyss!"

"What?!" I spat out with seething rage, "How dare you wretched plebs send me to the abyss!"

"Do you actually think that you have the authority to oppose us?" His voice chilling me to the core. "Now, you're just a cruel witch that spoiled our lands! You deserve to be sacrificed to the devil."

"Watch your backs, you may find out that there are much more crueler beings that lurk around!"

They dragged me towards the edge, I struggled but it was hopeless.

"Any last words, Selena?"

'Is this the end? Sister, I'm sorry for being useless.'

As my tears fell, I was falling deeper into the abyss. The Devil engulfed me, severe pain and desperation spreading through every corner of my body. Just as I was about to be consumed by the dark magic, a miracle occurred - a warm blue light enveloped me; the dark magic and this mystical power - two opposing forces have reached a balance within me.

After the ordeal, I experienced, I was drained. Tiredness seemed to overcome me and before I lost consciousness, I saw a silhouette of a man approaching me.
