Nanda's hegemony

Northern part of Indian subcontinent centred around the capital Patliputra , was under the shade of Nanda dynasty. Mahavamsa bears the source of information about the Empire. It ruled for around 2 centuries and left a significant mark in History of Bharata. Founded by Mahapadmananda this dynasty had a stable and flourishing administration. There was widespread practice of Buddhism alongside Jainism and Hindu culture under their reign. The sky was blue and weather was fine until Dhanabad ascended the throne. His reign was from 329-321c. BCE. . By nature he was am ambitious king who would extend his territories by any means . Deluded with pride he always insulted those who appeared weak in front of him at his court.
