The return

It is all over.

Every warrior of planet earth Parrish under the hands of 1 man.

We were so close, yet so far.

By struggling relentlessly for years did we finally make it to the final stage of the [tutorial], if you could even call it that.

It was more like a preliminary round for the main game, planets with billions of people getting transported to a vast plain where they fight each other for the right to go to the next round.

What the real game was, nobody knew, the only thing we knew was that this was the last round of the preliminary games.

It was the last round and yet only now did we realize our mistake, the governments had determent that the best way to go was to disperse the power from our strongest: [talents], [skills] and [items] equally, so we could have a big army.

They were basically choosing numbers over individual strength, which sounded reasonable if you look at the history of earth.

Only now that we could see with our own eyes how strong an individual could truly get, did we know how wrong we were.

Sure, the average strength of our enemy was lower than ours, but when you have a monster who could kill our troops like little ants, this did not seem to matter.

Our past mistakes don't matter now anyway, my vision is already blurring, it's over.

Right when I was ready to accept my dead and let go, I hear a strange voice in calling for me in the darkness that I was in.

"Oliver Smith! Do you really think it is acceptable to sleep in my class?"

I shot up and to my surprise I was in a classroom.

Thinking I was under some sort of illusion spell, I tried to open my [status] but no mater how many times I tried to, it just didn't work.

At that moment I knew for sure I was sent back in time before the system was a thing, after all, the system doesn't lie, no matter what.

In the middle of my though proses I hear the same voice again.

"Oliver, are you just going to stare at me or give me an explanation for the sleeping you were doing earlier"

Only at that moment did Oliver remember where he was, English class in his senior year of high school, and this rather good-looking woman by the board should be our professor.

I quickly took out my phone and looked at the date, it was the 25th of June 2025, exactly 7 days before doomsday.

Doomsday refers to the day everything changed, countless cards fell from the sky, all of them with a specific talent that you can absorb, the only catch is that you can only absorb 1, so you have to choose carefully.

The ranks of cards ranged from [F]-[SSS] and determent, a big part of your power and power was everything in this new world.

After the talent cards dropped there was a 7-day quiet before the storm because after 7 days small obelisks appear gradually across the globe, each given a race change and a class and thereby completing the character creation.

For the next 3 months, everyone on earth started fighting monster and trying to level up and grow stronger in the dungeon's that appear.

Everyone started to slowly get used to this crazy reality until 3 months later, we got another message from the system [the first stage of the tutorial is over, in 1 day the second stage (preliminary rounds) will begin. Good luck!].

That was when the fight against the other planets began.

But that's all in the distend future, the thing I need to do now is get out of here and start planning.

"I'm sorry miss, but there is something urgent I need to attend to"

"young man, if you dear to even take a step out that door you- "

BANG

With a loud bang, the door of the classroom already closed before she could even finish threatening him.

"agh what am I going to do with that boy"

Oliver, who was already in the full swing of things, didn't really mind what they thought, he wasn't going back there anyway.

The thing he needed to do first is analyze his current situation.

Because he was an orphan, he didn't have any family, he also left the orphanage a little while ago and is now living in a studio apartment that he pays for with the money of his part-time job.

He had a couple of friends at this time, but he had long forgotten about them, with the things they ended up doing to him, they couldn't be considered friends anyway.

They al abandoned him in his hours of need because he wasn't strong, because he didn't have any influence.

That's right, Oliver wasn't strong where he came from, even though he was relatively smart, and his affinities were also high, but he didn't have the luck to make use of them.

The talent he managed to get his hands on was [skill power (F-grade)] it gave him + 1% skill damage, even amongst the F-grade skills this was one of the worst he had ever seen.

Of course, he didn't have the money to buy someone else's either.

This made it so that even though his magic affinity was high, he was unable to become a wizard because of the initial difficulties there were with becoming one.

One had to either have a good talent, so he could pass the obelisk's task with flying colors and thereby getting a better race and class, or had to have money to buy external items or a better talent before you took the test.

So, with the little strength he had and his nonexistent wealth, his 'friends' started to distend themselves from him and eventually started to ignore him.

He also made some new friends along the way in the new world, but they don't remember anything, and he believes that a person is just a culmination of memories forming their personality, so the people that he met in the future are not the same people that walk around today.

"Never mind all of that, the only thing I need to do is become more powerful and that all starts with a talent"

He took his phone out and opened the banking app which chowed [9856.00 dollars].

"It isn't a Huge amount, but definitely enough for my future plans"

To tell you the truth, if he had spent all his money in the past, he could've bought a [D-grade] talent but who knew that money would become useless in 3 months, he still had to survive.

"Those regrets are all in the past now what I have to do now is get my hands on the only [SSS-grade] talent in the world, hell that was the only talent above [S-grade] I ever saw or heard about in our world or the others, if I guess right the chances off and [SSS-grade] should be lower than 1/40 000 000 000 at the very least"

And the worst part is that in my last life, the guy who got It got kidnapped and was never heard of again after he boasted on the interned and gave basically all of the information away.

The location he found it was a field next to his little village in Italy around 1.3 days after doomsday came.

He opened google and searched for the earliest flight near his destination, that happened to be tomorrow afternoon.

"Good more than enough time to go there before doomsday arrives, now I should probably make a list of all the dates and times I still remember, otherwise I might forget them."

After he went home and bought the ticket to Italy, he started a notebook where he could keep all the important time and date's for opportunities in the future, of course there weren't that many only the biggest ones, after all a human's memory isn't endless, and he wasn't particularly high up in society at this point so many opportunities where unknown to him.

The next day he set off to Italy with only his backpack and a small tent ready to stay in that field for the next 6 days.

And so, the days past, the only thing he did was work on his notebook and get enough rest before the chaos, until the morning on the 6th day.

"Hmm it's almost time, I should take some time to mentally prepare myself"

After he said that, he heard that all too familiar message.

[Welcome citizens of the planet earth to the games. In a moment, we will begin the tutorial. I wish you the best of luck!]

Before he could even put away his excitement, he could see a bunch of papers falling above the town a few 100 meters away, these were the skill cards.

At that moment he began to feel nerves that maybe the card wouldn't be here, but almost as to calm his nervousness he could see a single card with a dark orange color dwindling down towards him.

As he grabbed the card out of the air, he heard a simple message that made him feel like the happiest man in the universe.

[U have the talent card [genius of magic (SSS-grade)] in your possession, would you like to synchronize with it?]
