Avoiding Trouble

Old man Fang nervously says "What Master Yin Zhelan says is indeed correct but..." The old man turns to look back to me before looking back to the young girl who's currently looking at the man named Master Yin Zelan like she was looking at a star.

Suddenly, Mango loses it. He grabs the bars and yells "Willow!! Get me out! I don't want to belong to this snotty brat! She doesn't even hold a fraction of your grace! Your royal blood or your power! Kill them all! Kill them all and let's go back home!!" Was he really trying to suck up to me right now!? In this situation!??

Everyone turns to look at Mango with wide, shock filled eyes as comments come flying out.

"It can talk!?"

"How is that even possible!??"

"Is it a Mystical Beast?"

"Did you hear what it said? It said she was a Royal and that she was powerful!"

"She must be a Royal from another continent."

"No wonder she looks so different..."

"Shhh! Don't upset her."

I internally roll my eyes and glare at Mango. When he sees the look, he quickly covers his mouth and lowers his ears in defeat. I sigh and say "As you can see... he belongs to me."

Master Yin Zhelan turns to look at me in question as the old man looks at me with hope and slight greed. I keep a straight face as I say "If the Young lady wishes to buy him and try her luck... I wouldn't mind but if she can't 'contract' him, he will be returned to me."

The old man gives me a grateful smile before saying "Yes! Of course, Young Miss, thank you!" He then turns to the young girl in question and gives her a pointed look. She huffs out in annoyance and says "I don't believe this strange woman or anything she says. I want the talking beast!" She tosses a few silver pieces to the old man and walks over to the cage holding Mango.

Mango hisses and growls at the girl but because he's the size of a squirrel, it doesn't seem very vicious or scary. The girl ignores his threats and curses as she pricks her finger. Mango looks up at her finger with horror but when I feel a strange power lightly blowing around us, I can't help but be slightly wary.

These people have power... It's not like my Magic but it doesn't mean it can't hurt us. As soon as the blood drips down onto Mango, he starts screaming. "AHHH IT BURNSSSS!!" He flops over and starts rolling, dramatically flailing around as he says "It's so unpure, it burnssss. Get it off, get it off!! Get the nasty blood off meee!"

Everyone looks on in shock and even worry but being used to Mango's theatrics, I only roll my eyes and say "Is everyone satisfied now?" The young girl's face is bright red with embarrassment and anger so without asking or waiting, I use my magic to unlock the cage.

Everyone around us sucks in and jumps back with silent fear. Mango takes off running and jumps into my arms saying "Take it off! Please!!" I wave my hand over his fur, instantly cleaning it. More shocked looks are sent our way as I turn and say "Good day"

The girl looks like she's about to say more but her friends quickly silence her and shake their heads. I ignore all the strange looks and keep going. I didn't want to cause a scene and cause trouble but I feel like it wasted precious time.

I allow Mango to chill on my shoulder as I make our way back to the ally. Mango doesn't say a word and neither do I. He knows he's in trouble. As I turn down the ally, I come to a stop when I see that it's all dried up. Just as I feared...

I stare at the dried ground with rage burning within me. Rage and fear fight with each other as I try to calm my emotions. Does this mean we're truly stuck here!? No, I need to think of something to return. I should be able to make a portal, right? Who am I kidding? I've never made a portal and even my own father struggles to do it.

"If this Young Miss isn't busy, would you mind joining me for lunch?" A deep voice says behind me making me turn. It was the man before. He gives me a small smile and says "Of course, it would be nice to join me so I don't have to eat alone but I don't want to force you."

A servant behind him bows to me and says "It would be polite to thank Master Yin Zhelan for helping you earlier, Young Miss." I arch a dark brow at his comment, causing the man in white to say "Know your place." To the servant. The servant lowers his head and steps back but doesn't say anything else.

I quickly weigh my options and decide to accept his offer. We'll be stuck here for a while it seems and until I can find a way back, I'll need to learn as much as I can. I also don't want to make enemies... Plus, I'm hungry... I slightly nod my head and say "To thank you, huh... I suppose I should."

The handsome man gives me a polite smile and says "Then please allow me." I follow him and his servants to a large restaurant of some kind but I keep my mouth shut the whole time. A waiter walks over and bows to us before saying "Master Yin Zhelan, would you like your usual room?"

The man in white nods without a word and gracefully follows the waiter upstairs with me silently following from a distance. Everyone in the restaurant watches us with hushed words but I ignore them as I try to figure out how I'm going to make a portal to return home.

They lead us to a private room and I hesitate. Should I go into a private room with a man I don't even know? When he looks up and sees me hesitating, he gives me a knowing look and says "We will leave the door and window open." I slightly nod and step into the room before taking a seat at the wooden table.
