The Return

There once lived a Great Dragon in the depths of the Gurling Mountain. Legend has it that the Great Dragon destroyed countless kingdoms throughout the years.

"Really?" A kid spoke in excitement but soon turned frowned as he imagined how terrifying it would be.

The Great Dragon was untouchable, it would go on to kill countless number of people. It was said that the Great Dargon didn't even spared it's own kind leading to the extinction of their own race.

"Why would he do that?" The kid frowns.

The old man sighed looking at the kid's expression.

"We never know, but one day however a powerful man shows up, he would finally put a halt to the Great Dragon's cruelty. He along with 12 other brave heroes would finally slay the Great Dragon for good."

The Kid's face brightens at the unexpected turn of event. Putting his hands on the child's face, the old man bids a farewell to the sleepy kid.

Somewhere in the corner of the earth.

Is this it....is this really how it ends?

All this years of hardwork gone down the rug in an instant.

What have I did to deserve this.

Immediately the young kid wakes up as he murmurs.

'Where am I?'

The room was quite large as compared to an average person's. Lying on the massive bed, the only conclusion Raven could come up was that this must be a Noble's room.

'How am I still alive?'

'I still remember it as clear as a day. Being severely depleted of any energy and my limbs that were destroyed. How the hell am I still alive.' Raven raises his arms in disbelief.

Raven imagines the humongous shadow of a dragon that was growling towards the injured Raven who was bleeding of blood.

Suddenly a person shows up. It was an old woman dressed up in a maid uniform hurriedly heading towards Raven.

The clueless Raven just stared at her. As she got closer she could be seen with a joyous face.

"Young Master you're awake."

"May I know who are you"

"It's me, your servant Greata young master." The maid spoke with a confused face.

'Wait could young master have lost his memories?'

The maid looks at him worriedly.

Soon Raven's eyes starts to glow slightly. As he looks at the maid, he could see a tiny glow of yellow colour.

'A 1st Class mage, a mid rank at that.'

There were ranks to classify a person's strength. The lowest of the class being 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Although she was a mid 1st Class, she was way better than an average person.

An average full grown adult would barely reach the beginning stages of 1st class. That is the Low rank. It was only then followed by Mid and then High, but the average person always remained in the Low rank.

'For a maid to be in mid 1st Class despite being a household servant, it must mean the owner must be of a Noble status.'

'But why does this room look a little too old?'

There were some cracks in the room, the cracks were tiny that in first gance one wouldn't notice it, but Raven's eyes were very observant. Especially when he put some mana into his eyes earlier, he could see the cracks in details.

Raven then starts to send a slight glow in his hands, the glow flowed from his chest towards the hands through the veins. Once it reached, Raven puts his hands on his chest.

It was mana, one that came from the heart towards the hands to physically bring out the mana from the inside.

Once he put it on his chest, he could see slight yellow colour glow just like the maid's but weaker. "Low 1st Class huh."

'I'm surprised, this body isn't bad at all. I don't know how I ended up here but one thing I know for sure, this is a second chance.'

Raven starts remembering a flashback.

Raven was holding a dark blue sword that was radiating lighting spikes everywhere.

Snapped out suddenly, Raven finds the old maid holding onto his hands as she kneels. "Young Master do you really not remember anything?"

"I don't."

For the next few hours the maid would go on to explain everything related to him.

Julian Alvindor, eldest son of Baron Julius Alvindor was a talentless child of the family.

Alvindor was a swordsman family, while Julian had some little talent in magic, that was useless for a swordsman family.

Two years ago, the 14 year old Julian got tired of being forced to wield a sword and decided to run away. Sneaking away inside a ship, Julian wanted to head towards the kingdom of Evalon, one known for it's richness in magic.

However the calm sea quickly turned into strong current of massive waves due to an unexpected storm. It was then he got struck through a powerful lightning, ever since then Julian got been into a coma.

The maid would go on telling the story with an angry face, knowing that it was directed towards Raven, he just listened to it with his head leaned down.

'That lighting, I'm sure of it. It must have been my wandering soul.'

After six long hours, Raven had enough of it. It was already getting dark so the maid decides to put on a halt.

Julian was a troublemaker who never listened to any instructions properly, but despite all that, the only thing he was passionate about was magic. All he ever wanted was to just learn magic.

Later that night -

Raven would go on outside of the room following the maid.

It was time for dinner.

The dining table was filled with four people. Raven could guess who they were with a single glance.

Julie Alvindor, Julian's Sister (7) and the youngest in the family.

Jordan Alvindor (12), Julian's younger brother.

Jules Alvindor (14), The second eldest.

And lastly, Julius Alvindor. Head of the family.

Not knowing how to react, Julian just sat on the table with minimal movement.

As he looked towards the siblings he could see red colour of glow from within them. Even the youngest sibling's aura was stronger that Julian's.

But as soon as he looked towards Julius, he couldn't sense anything.

It must mean he had attained a high sense where he could suppress his powers.

The father was quite cold, he didn't showed must expression as he continues to have his meal. The entire dinner was quite silent. Nobody spoked a single word.

After the dinner, Julian tried to hold on a conversation with his siblings but they quickly ignored him.

The tired Julian comes back to his room and goes to sleep. 'What's wrong with this family.'

It was then he realised he didn't saw the mother at all. Did something happened?

The next day -

The breakfast went quiet as usual.

But Julian didn't mind it and finally heads towards his room.

As he walks towards the hall, he saw a young man training with the swords.

"May I join you." The knight looked at Julian with a confused face.

As he holds the wooden sword Julian aims it towards the young man. "Let's have a spar"

In my past life I was one of the strongest swordsman ever lived. Despite being brought up in a poor family with no support, I still climbed to the ranks of the top, I wonder will I ever be able to surpass the wall that I couldn't in my previous life?
