Tomb of the Fallen Legend

A day had elapsed as Shiva made his way toward the dungeon.

The corruption giant had already reached level 10, while Shiva had summoned four additional orc monsters, assembling his own small undead army.

Despite having the opportunity to level up himself, Shiva deliberately avoided engaging with any more monsters after summoning the orcs. Instead, he relinquished all the experience gained to the corruption giant.

Why? The answer became evident as he approached a massive, bright red portal that loomed before him.

<Tomb of the Fallen Legend (Dungeon)>

The runes suspended above the portal glowed in red.

As Shiva focused his attention on the runes, additional information materialized before him.

_____________

<Tomb of Fallen Legend (Dungeon)>

There once lived a revered legend renowned for his mastery in crafting golems in the Ruined Tower. He had been esteemed as one of the - - - - - - of the Ruined Tower. However, consumed by an insatiable thirst for knowledge and power, he strayed from his noble path, resorting to the despicable act of using his comrades as materials in his relentless pursuit of creating the ultimate, boundless living golem. His actions invoked the wrath of powerful figures, drawing their ire and sealing his fate.

Yet, his ambitious experiment spiraled out of control, and the very golem he had created became the instrument of his downfall. It took the combined efforts of two legends to subdue the golem and bring an end to its rampage. Its lifeless form was then interred within this dungeon, imposing a strict restriction barring entry to anyone above level 10, lest they misuse the golem's remains.

Entry restrictions: Below level 10

_____________

This was precisely why he had deliberately avoided leveling up further. Despite being only at level eight presently, he refrained from advancing to level nine, fearing that he might inadvertently surpass the imposed restriction.

Nevertheless, as he absorbed the information from the dungeon, new runes materialized before him.

"Here it comes."

With a playful smile, Shiva advanced and stepped through the portal. One by one, his summons followed suit, while the giant, struggling, managed to crawl inside.

After barely a second had passed, Shiva found himself on the other side of the dungeon.

Before him stretched a dimly lit cave, illuminated by luminous blue stones embedded into its walls as if summoned into place.

The cave, though not crude, appeared meticulously shaped, suggesting it wasn't formed by natural means but rather meticulously carved out by skilled hands.

Various objects dotted the cave, but the most striking features were the statues flanking either side. Above each statue, a set of runes hovered in the air, casting an otherworldly glow.

<Stone golem lv-15>

And it wasn't just one or two statues; the entire room was adorned with them. However, despite their imposing presence, the golems remained still, showing no signs of movement or aggression. They simply stood there, their eyes fixed on empty space, as if frozen in time.

_____________

For an S-ranked quest, the description appeared deceptively simple, but only Shiva understood the underlying complexity and the absurdity of the clear condition. For the time being, however, he chose to pay no heed to the runes and conducted a thorough inspection of the entire dungeon. After all, until he deemed it necessary, the dungeon would patiently bide its time. In many ways, it was undeniably a peculiar dungeon.

In his previous life, Shiva had focused solely on clearing the dungeon, neglecting to observe the cave closely. Determined not to repeat the same mistake, he scrutinized every detail with utmost care.

Upon closer look, the cave appeared empty except for some glowing blue rocks and large stone creatures called golems guarding the sides.

Each golem was made of stone, very tall at around 5-6 meters high. Their huge rocky bodies looked like twisted branches or fossilized plants. Sickly green and yellow colors flickered across their stony bodies, as if energies flowed through them. Long cruel claws extended from their bulky joints, and beastly faces peered out between spiky rocks.

A fiery golden light burned in the center of their chests, like the heart of an underground forge. These elemental brutes seemed born from the earth itself.

As Shiva looked around, he saw there were different types of golems in the cave. Some were massive mud-forged giants, their frames shaped from compacted dirt and clay. Their craggy surfaces rippled like hardened batter across bulging muscles, with thick arms ending in clenched fists that could crush anything they grabbed - these were the mud golems.

Others stood as imposing metal figures made from rusted iron, tarnished copper, and weathered bronze parts. Their torsos and four massive limbs looked like ancient armor or machinery. Each muscled arm ended in a clenched fist, three swinging freely while the fourth seemed permanently posed aggressively or defensively - these were the metal golems.

But Shiva didn't just look at the golems. Searching for something more important, he drifted toward the opposite cave end. There, at last, he spotted it.

At the end of the passage loomed a vast hall, its walls adorned with shelves containing an array of books. The pages within seemed to whisper tales of history and knowledge.

And at the center of it all rested a coffin with glass walls.

But what truly captivated Shiva's attention was the figure lying within the glass enclosure, his expression serene as the calm sea. At first glance, one might assume the person to be merely sleeping, so impeccably preserved was the body. However, Shiva knew better—this person had long since departed from the realm of the living.

"There he is," Shiva remarked, a genuine smile gracing his features unlike any seen before as his gaze fell upon the man inside the glass coffin.

This was him—the first Apostle of Shiva, the Knight of Death, the ultimate creation of the Fallen Legend, Kapali!
