Chapter 1

The next day Jason woke up in a mysterious place. Instead of the warm grassland he remembered waking up in he was now in an old raggedy bed. A nearly impenetrable wall of darkness covered the room, with only a few candles able to illuminate certain parts of the room. In the dark corners if the room mice could be heard scurrying to and fro.

"Where the hell am I?" Jason thought to himself

Jason stepped onto the cold hard wooden floor, made of splintered wood and cautiously made his way to the door.

"This place is an insult. It isn't fit for dogs, let alone a prince." He continued in his mind.

He opened the door and stepped into the main abode. The main house was pretty similar to the room, splintery floors, and rats, but the windows let the beautiful sunlight illuminate the entire room. Sitting at the kitchen table was the girl he had just met yesterday along with an old man.

"Oh you're finally awake. You slept for a very long time." She said

"Where? Where am I?" Jason questioned.

"You're at my house. You fell asleep after, climaxing so I just brought you here. No trouble really."

"This place is a pigsty."

Both the woman and the old man gasped in utter shock.

"You know you can just live outside like some ragamuffin if you really want to." The woman retorted

"It's preferable to living here." Jason replied

"Just wait until winter. I bet you'll prefer it here then out there."

The old man then emerged from his seat and began to stumble towards the door with his cane in hand.

"What are you doing?" Jason asked

"I'm going to go to work in the fields, boy." The old man answered

"At your age I think house work would be too much to ask. Let alone field work."

"I have to do it, or the Lord will have my head."

"Im that case, hurry on. No Lord likes tardy peasants."

The old man left the house resulting in Jason taking the seat that he had just occupied.

"You know you're really a jerk." The woman said

"You peasants have proven that you deserve my kindness." Jason exclaimed

"Are you not a peasant?"

"Do you not recognize your Prince when you see him? Are you blind fair lady?"

"You're no Prince."

"The hell I'm not! Do you not notice Jason the Dark Prince when you see him?"

"Oh I see you're crazy."

"Crazy?"

"Yeah crazy, only a crazy guy would claim to be a person who died twenty years ago."

A major chill swooshed up Jason's spine. His blood ran cold and his eyes began to water.

"Twenty... Twenty years?" He stuttered

He then flashbacked to earlier when he woke up and his armor was rusted. He remembered how his wounds were scars even though they should've been fresh.

He looked out the window at what was once the battlefield and noticed absolutely no trace of a recent battle.

He shook violently, unable to speak.

The woman gently placed her hand and his.

"Are you alright?" She asked

"No. Something went terribly wrong." He answered.

"What's your name stranger?"

"Jason. Jason of Gallahan."

"My name's Irene. And the guy from earlier was my step father Angus."

Jason continues trembling. One large tear ran down his cheek.

"Can I ask you something?" Jason asked

"Yes, anything." Irene answered

"Who is? Who is? Who was Jason the Dark Prince? What was his fate?"

"Died in the battle of Valleyport almost twenty years ago."

"That can't be...I'm Jason the Dark Prince. Am I a ghost, is this all a dream that can't be."

"Look how about I make you some breakfast and we can go work in the fields together."

"Yeah...yeah Okay."

Irene woke up and fixed Jason a bowl of grool. Jason took a few slurps of it trying to make it go down. His breakfast was then interrupted when a knock was heard at the door.

Irene went to answer it. Standing in the doorway were two royal soldiers armed with spears.

"Good morning fair maiden." One of the soldiers said

"What do you bloody want?" Irene asked

"We just came to warn you that this will be your fifth tardy this month. And you know what happens when you get to your sixth tardy."

"You can't just lash me for not complying with your bullshite worker restrictions. I'm not a slave."

"Madam, you've been warned. If you're late to the fields one more time this month you will be punished to the fullest extent of the law."

Irene's teeth collided with one another, her eyes turned red along with her face. She marched over to Jason who had been listening in and forcefully grabbed his arm.

"C'mon, Jason. We're headed to the fields." She shouted as she dragged Jason by the soldiers at the door.
