Chapter 20

Caepron has his soldiers and the Naga warriors gather all the supplies and the people, and lead them to the front of the village. Caepron then takes the village's heart, and the village slowly rumbles and falls apart. As everyone gathered at the front, Caepron glanced over the people and froze. Next to the chief, was a Naga hidden in a cloak, hiding behind him. Caepron's sense for the other Ancient Being bloodline was tingling. He wasn't sure why, but he was attracted to it. He made his way over towards the chief who had noticed Caepron walking towards him by this time. He hid the figure behind him and put on a forced smile toward Caepron. "What can I do for you, my lord?" Caepron didn't even notice him and moved him aside almost as if he was as light as a child. Caepron then stood towering over the hooded figure, looking imposing and frightful. The person flinched away when the chief was moved, and when Caepron came to stand in front of them. Caepron slowly moved his hands to move the hood off of the figure. Cascading platinum hair fell down the shoulders, a petite nose, light sky blue eyes, and a face quivering in fear. It was a young Naga girl, so beautiful that Caepron was at a loss for breath and words. She had small patches of scales on her cheek just like the rest of her tribe, and her irises were slitted like a snake. She was quite afraid of Caepron and he could see it on her face and in her actions. Caepron slowly got down on one knee, looking the young woman straight in her eyes. "Hello." He didn't know what to say after that, as he was unsure what to tell such a beautiful girl that he had scared. She looked at him quizzically, unsure of what he was up to. "Hello?" Caepron's heart was thumping so loud that he thought everyone could hear it. He wasn't sure why it was doing this, but he was sure of one thing... He was in love!

Caepron looked at the chief of the Naga Village, gathering his resolve and courage. After taking a deep breath, he asked the chief, "Cheif, may I have your blessing to marry your daughter?" Everyone gasped, especially Caeprons own troops, this was very quick, and may not be the smartest thing they had ever done, however, after looking at the young lady and the reaction that Caepron had, they couldn't help but sigh, "He's in love." they all thought. The chief and village were also having a large reaction, however, they were more concerned about the young woman's being and safety. This random stranger had just conquered their village, and now he wanted to take the hand of the village chief's daughter, he was quite audacious and arrogant to think that they would just give her away that easily. The village chief slithered over and got in between Caepron and his daughter. "Young man, not only do I disagree, I strongly ask that you step away from my daughter, you just conquered our village, are taking us away, and now you want to marry my daughter? You are a very bold young man, very bold!" Caepron slowly stood up, and looked the chief in the face, slowly dwarfing the chief even though he is a Naga. The Naga chief backed up slightly as Caepron became an unreadable wall. "Sir, Whether you like it or not, you have lost in a trial by combat, and I have taken what was won by me, which would include all of you, including your daughter. However, in spite of all that, instead of just taking her as a prize that I have won, I have asked for your blessing, something that in no way I need to do. I want to respect the authority you have as her father, and before anything else, I have a question for the young lady herself." saying that Caepron looked at the young lady hiding slightly behind her father. "Young lady, I know that currently, I am not much, however, I promise to the heavens that until I die I will protect you and love you with everything that I have. Now with that out in the air, I would like to know, would you marry me?"

Sarah was startled at the beginning of the whole situation. That morning, the head warrior had come in telling the chief that he wanted to marry her. However, her father had refused him profusely, something Sarah was very happy about, as the head warrior was known as a lascivious man and not an honorable warrior and person. She had been in the back room listening to the threats that the head warrior had made against her father. Then a young warrior ran in, someone who also lusted after her, and told them that a large armed force was moving towards the village. After everyone ran outside, her father told her to stay there and hide while he went to confront the intruders. After he left, she decided to put on a cloak and rushed to the back of the crowd forming. As she made her way toward the front of the crowd, she saw the head warrior move forward slightly and challenge Caepron. When the head warrior made his claim of her hand and the village head's seat, she was fuming. "That monster is completely ridiculous and treating me as an item!" Then Caepron walked up and smacked the living daylight out of the head warrior, who went flying in the air like an arrow. After they heard a loud thud of the body hitting the ground, Sarah looked back at Caepron with awe. "He is so strong, and he is good-looking and a leader…. Is he a good mate?" She whispered to herself. Her father then talked to Caepron and agreed to go with them. When they started talking, she rushed back to her hut and hid behind the curtain in the room till her father came back. When he came in, she came out, trying to look confused and shocked. "Father, did we really lose the village?" Her father's shoulders slightly slumped and his head drooped slightly, "Yes daughter, the head warrior was toyed around like a baby with a grown adult. Then thrown away like a rag doll. As much as I am disappointed that we lost, we now have a much stronger support to lean on and to protect us. Get on a cloak and grab your belongings, we are moving with the troops outside." Sarah grabbed her few belongings, put them in a small sling bag that hung at her side, and then followed her father outside to the gathering of the village.

While standing there, she was staring at Caepron under the hood of her cloak, looking at him like a child looks at candy. "He really is a handsome man, and a strong leader as well." she was having these thoughts and not paying attention, and then she heard people gasping and back away from her. She looked up and was shocked to see Caepron standing there, with a stunned look on his face. He raised his hands and removed the hood of her cloak. At first, she was very scared and wanted to run, however, Caepron got on one knee so that he was slightly lower than her, and then out loud in front of everyone, this man asked her father for his blessing!! "WHAT THE HELL?"
