Chapter 14

After deciding on the name of his village, Caepron went back out to reorganize his people to start efficiently getting the materials they needed to start building the walls and other such projects. Caepron got Old Lui to gather everyone together in the town center so they could start work on the new projects they had in store. As soon as everyone gathered together he stuck his hand up to quiet everyone down. "Thank you all for the meeting here. I understand that many of you have work to return to, so I will make this brief and simple. We have 77 new citizens with us today, we will divide them between all the working forces so far. Please will the respective leaders come forward so we can divide the new workers into their respective groups?" After taking care of that, everyone went back to work. Caepron had two giants, 5 soldiers, and 20 builders go to the woods to gather more wood. He had Thomas and 3 giants and 7 soldiers go hunting for wild animals and other such things. He then had Old Lui stay in the village with 1 giant and 3 soldiers to guard the town, as well as 40 builders to continue the work on the housing, the new Bicow pens ready, and getting the horse den area prepped. Caepron then left with 1 giant, 1 soldier, and 30 builders to check on the Magic Gale stone mine up and running as well. He wanted to see what the area looked like to gauge how much work they'd need to put into it to start working. After about a 20-minute walk, they arrived at the left side of the valley. The area had a lot of rocks and boulders spread out. The soldiers spread out in a 50-foot perimeter to protect Caepron while he investigated the stone. He found a vast open-air vein of Magic Galestone. It would last them for a while at least and let them get some of the bigger building projects done. He headed back with his troops to the village after scoping out the place.

Once they had gotten back, Caepron went to oversee the building projects going on for the rest of the day. Later that evening the groups came back with more supplies. The wood gatherers brought back another large sled load of timber for the village. The hunting team, led by Thomas, brought back another large amount of meat, herbs, and vegetables for the village. Thomas then handed Caepron a small sack with several items in it again. Inside were 460 copper coins, and 35 bronze coins. A few common mana crystals, and another ghost protection talisman. Thomas then grabbed a large bag and pulled out a small plant that glowed slightly and handed it to Caepron. It looked like grass except for the fact that it glowed.

Item: Rella Grass

Description: A grass with healing properties that are used in common-grade healing pills.

Caepron raised his head in surprise at Thomas, "We found a small batch growing in the forest and pulled all of them to grow here at the village." Caepron nodded his head in appreciation. "This is a welcome addition to our supply of herbs and spiritual plants." Afterward, everyone gathered around for dinner, and then the village went to sleep. The next morning, everyone gathered in the village center. Caepron summoned the next batch of villagers. Another 81 people were spawned in, 4 of which were giants. He had the giants become Spear Shield Bearers, and He had 6 more men become archers, and 5 become Sabermen. After that, he had three giants and a few other soldiers to the Magic Galestone quarry with a bunch of workmen, and he had another three giants and a few soldiers go with another group of workmen to go to the Blacksteel Quarry to start mining that. Then he had four giants, a few soldiers and half of the remaining builders go to the forest again to get more lumber. He then had the final two giants, and another 6 soldiers stay at the village to protect it. He then left with Thomas, and 6 archers and 3 spearmen went hunting. They traveled for about an hour before reaching the edges of the hunting grounds. They then spread out about 10 feet apart from each other and slowly started making their way in quietly. They hunted several deer typed animals, several mammals from rabbits to squirrels to animals that they had never seen. They collected herbs, vegetables, and fruits as well. They had just finished killing two small deer-type animals called Aca when the bushes to the right of the group started shaking. Everyone grabbed their weapons and rushed to get information. Just as they got off the ground a giant shadow jumped out of the bushes and attacked one of the archers. Caepron, Thomas, and the spearmen rushed at it while the other archers were drawing their bows. The animal looked like a tiger, except it was green with red stripes, it had two white horns coming out of its head, and it was twice the size of a normal tiger. It was trying to bite at the archer's neck when Caepron and Thomas engaged it. Caepron full-on jumped and rammed into the animal's side, knocking it away from the archer. Two of the spearmen grabbed the archer by the arms and dragged him towards the other group. Caepron, Thomas, and the other spearmen set up a triangle formation with Caepron at the point to face against the Tiger. It shook its head and got back up after a few seconds. It looked towards Caepron and got into an attack position. Caepron pulled the sword off of his back and then got into a combat stance. He released his cultivation level as well so he could fight at his full strength. He had hidden his presence so as not to scare away prey earlier. He then probed the cultivation level of the beast. When the beast felt Caeprons presence, it started to back away, realizing that it had picked a fight it couldn't win. Caepron noticed this and figured why just afterward. Its cultivation level was at stages 2-6. It was almost a whole cultivation level below Caepron. Caepron's blood started boiling for a fight and he charged at the Tiger to engage it. The Tiger also charged at Caepron and lunged at him. Caepron slid down and held the sword up to run across its belly. The tiger hit the ground, rolled, and then slumped down. It was dead.
