I closed the system window and opened the door.

"What is it?" I asked. "Can we go explore the city together?" Christine and Brendon were there.

"That sounds good, give me a couple seconds." I stretched and then we went outside the small mansion.

"Where do you think we' should go?" I asked Christine and Brendon.

"I want food." Christine answered. "I want to register as an adventurer."

I stared into space for a few seconds, before answering. "Let's get food." "What? Why?" Brendon said.

"We should first look around properly. Also I.. I stopped talking. "Please wait a little." I ran back inside.

Then after three minutes I came back. "Okay let's go look for food." Then we started walking.

"Why did you leave?" Brendon asked. "To increase the budget." I instantly answered.

Brendon looked shocked. "Oh, that place!" Christine pointed at a small restaurant.

"Okay let's go in." *ding!* The door made a sound when opening it.

"Oh, hi welcome!" Inside there weren't a lot of people, but it looked cozy. There was also a fireplace with a couple kids playing. "Please choose a seat."

There was a single waitress working. '…strange?' We sat down and were handed a menu.

'No pictures…' I was almost disappointed. "What do you guys want?" I asked the kids.

"I want a steak!" Christine said. "I honestly don't know any of these." Brendon said.

'Wait.' "Do you guys know how to read?" I asked worried. "No." Brendon answered. "Not well." Christine answered.

"I'll have to try to teach you starting tomorrow." I said. Then the waitress approached. "What do you want?" "Let's go with one burger and two steaks." She visibly flinched.

"Oh? Yes that will be brought to you in a couple minutes." Then she left. 'Hmm, the prices are ridiculous. Twenty five silver in all.'

I sighed. "Okay please wait here until the food comes." I said. *vrr* I made a light mana barrier and left the restaurant.

I ran to a bookstore nearby and bought three educational books one coloring book and a couple pens and pencils.

I went back into the restaurant and sat back down. "So where did you go?" Brendon asked. "To.. buy books." I said out of breath.

"Why?" "You guys need to learn how to read properly and write." I said. *knock knock!* The waitress was knocking on the barrier.

"Oh, sorry." *vrr* the barrier was quickly removed. Then we got the food and started eating.

"It tastes good." Christine said. "That's good." I said. "What.." Brendon looked shocked. "What is it?" I asked.

He didn't answer and started eating quickly. 'I guess he likes it?'

*Creak!* When we were almost done eating, the door opened up. 'Who?' I looked up and saw a fancy looking man, with two body guards beside him.

He had white hair and blue eyes. 'Is he a part of the Nithya family?' I thought.

He sat down on a table and watched the waitress. 'Is he Meinhard?'

Meinhard had a couple hundred rumors about being a creep, but they were always discarded because of his talent.

'Oh, why did I forget.' There was also a rumor that he had connections to the demon that cursed me.

[eyes(A) activated: black] I tested something. "Hello there, what do you want to order?" The waitress asked.

"Nothing much, just steak." He said. "Can we have a talk after my meal?" He asked. She nodded and went to the counter.

But he held onto her wrist. "Let's have a small chat now." "Oh my goodness." I sighed and raised my hand. "The check please."

She quickly pulled her hand away, and gave me the check. "Hmm, sorry can you give me a small discount?" I asked shamelessly.

"What?" She looked confused. "Hmm, I guess not. Can I pay with some wood?" I asked. "Sure?? So how much do you have?" She asked.

"Can we please go outside for this." I requested. She looked doubtful but followed.

'Crap I forgot.'

Then I opened my inventory, and an entire log appeared. "Sorry I'll have to cut it. Wait a couple minutes." I said.

She stared blankly at the log.

It took two minutes. I cut the log into sixteen pieces. "Should I make the pieces smaller?" I asked. "No no, you don't need to." She said still confused.

I put the wood inside my inventory.

'Did I make her nervous?' I silently scolded myself. I went back inside, and looked around.

The Mr. Royal guy scoffed at me, but I ignored it. I went back to my seat and finished eating.

"Let's go now." I said. *swhoosh* I felt a cold air. 'Nice.' [mana manipulation(B+) activated] I blew away the cold air. "Let's do this outside."

"You bastard!" He got up. "I said outside, don't wanna ruin your reputation even more right?" I said confidently.

He ignored me and made a sword of ice. He ran at me but got stopped by his guards. "Why are you stopping me?!"

"As he recommended let's do this outside. There are kids here as well." One of the men said.

I led them to a back alley. "So first one ground rule." I said. "Like I'll listen to you." He said. I smiled. [Subclass has been changed] "no matter what happens. No one can complain."

He nodded and snickered. "Hah, I thought you were gonna say something stupid."

He quickly blew cold air a me. 'Oh, I remember.'

*Shoosh!*

*Boom!* Everything froze. A giant ice spike was directed towards me. "I don't need to dodge." I said calmly.

*Stab!* "cough!" "Stupid fool." He made a satisfied expression.

'It still hurts like hell though. Then a light appeared where I was stabbed.

His sword broke, and I took him by the neck. "One small squeeze right?" I stared at him. "I-I don't w-want to d-die." He struggled a little.

"Good, then stop wasting your life." I turned my hand into air, and let him go. "Cough! Cough!" He coughed and was on the ground.

He looked back up at me. From his expression it seemed like he was staring at a monster.

"I'm saying this now. Don't continue escalating this further." I said. *Vvrr!* I removed the barrier.

I finished, and we went to the mansion and I was laying down. 'What did I do? Why?'

I sighed. "Was that me?" I asked myself. "What am I?"

'Am I still effected by the corruption from that demon?' It would make sense.

'.. no, I need to have more self control. Especially since I have kids following me around.'

I was tired.
