Chapter 85:You've Heard Of Me

"Slate!!"

Slate and Amethyst looked towards the person who called him.

But before any of them could react, a woman rushed to Slate and hugged him tight.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry I was too late. I'm sorry about Scarlet," she wept.

Slate stood still for a bit but when she let him go and he saw her face he called out her name.

"Beatrice," he muttered.

"Yes, it is me. I'm sorry, I couldn't be there, I'm sorry I was too late," she once again said.

Slate shook his head, "It is fine."

She hugged him again, "I'm here now. I'm here now."

Slate returned her hug without saying anything more.

Amethyst stood there beside them until Beatrice let him go and looked at her.

"I'm sorry about that. I am Beatrice Carlson, his childhood friend," she extended her hand towards Amethyst after wiping her tears.

Amethyst smiled and extended her hand as well, "Amethyst Evans, a friend of theirs."
