Rape-Murder Case
Next day, just as I've predicted, Captain Allan scold me because of the report of the murder in the woods yesterday. He orders me to fix the report and remove all supernatural things in the report and change it to anonymous tips as the source of information. So here, I am, sitting at my desk writing the report. After finishing the report, I just realize something is missing. Where's Sam? I see his coat on the chair but don't see him around. Is he flirting again with a new policewoman in this station?
So, when an officer passes me by I try to ask him whether or not he sees Sam
"Hey Dan, do you see Sam?"
"Oh, he is in the multimedia room"
"Ok, thanks"
What the hell he's doing in the multimedia room? Did he look on surveillance tapes from the mass murderer case in the hotel room? Well, if he does, it's a rare thing because I know he hates troublesome matters. Then I follow him to the multimedia room, but when I enter the multimedia room….
What I see is he WATCHING PORN!
Without hesitation, I smack his head hard enough.
"Ouch!"
"What are you doing Sam? Watching porn in working hours?"
"I'm not watching porn!"
"How could you blatantly lie in front of me? If the movie in the monitor is not porn, then what?"
"You misunderstood. It's Johnson from Vice section asking me to help him because of their section lack of personnel"
"Huh? What do you help by watching that?"
"They investigate this movie production involving underage girl. C'mon, watch with me together maybe we can have some clues from there. You know although the porn industries are not illegal, it required the party involved the porn must have aged at least 18 years old, you can see that girl in the movie like a high school girl"
Although a bit hesitated, I can't refuse my partner request, so I take a seat and watch that movie with Sam. The movie itself depicts some men with mask raping a girl in a warehouse. Rather than a movie, it's more like a documentary film. The lightning is lack, the picture sometimes blurred out of focus, like being taken by an amateur. The scene also seems made without scenarios, its giving feeling they record the real rape action than making a movie.
When we still watching the movie, suddenly there's a girl sound from our back
"Ah! That girl has just been killed!"
Surprised by that sound, we hurriedly turn our back and try to cover the monitor with our body but what makes more surprising is the owner of that voice is Macy.
"Ma .. Macy? What are you doing here?" "Pssttt … Sam, turn off that movie, quick!"
My heart like almost has a heart attack. How is she can suddenly here? After Sam secretly turns off the movie, I can a little bit calm. I ask her question again
"Macy, what were you just say?"
"Macy? Her name is Macy?" Sam butted into my conversation with her
"Its temporary name I give to her, I'll explain later"
"I want to report a murder. That girl on the movie had been killed"
What? Again? I guess she must speak to that girl spirit and reporting to us like the woods case.
"Let me guess. The girl's spirit talks with you and she tell you that she has been killed?"
"Yes. She looks so sad and I want you to help me find her"
*Sigh … she didn't learn from the last time, did she?
"Macy, the last time you want to help the spirit, you almost got killed. You'd better don't pay attention to them. Your ability is amazing, but it also brings harm to you too"
"Yeah, you should stay at the hospital and focus to recover your memories and found your identity. You are missing your home, right? Your family must be worrying waiting for you" Sam added my explanation to her.
"There's a possibility I don't have home nor family … "
"Ah, there's uncertainty about that. Why do you think like that?"
"You and Sam have a spirit that standing behind you but I don't"
"Well, normally people to see spirit standing behind them"
"The one behind Mr. Wright said he borrow another one thousand dollars, and he worried about that"
Sam's face becomes pale hearing that. It seems he really borrow that money. Humph, what should I do?
"Alright, we take you to the hospital first, we investigate this case anyway. Sam, you drive"
I said while rubbing her head. Although I'm not clear about what she talking about she looks lonely.
"Okay," said Sam and taking the car keys.
During our way to the hospital, I try to ask her about the spirit at the people's back
"Macy, you said that everyone has a spirit that stands behind them?
"Yes, your spirit is a powerful one. But not everyone has good spirit behind them"
"Like that one" she pointing a person who crosses the street. We currently waiting for the traffic light to show green. "He is carrying many spirits, whether from the live one or the dead one. He surrounded by spiritual energies. He must have many enemies".
I am watching the man she pointing at. Well, I still can't see anything she said about that spirit. That man she pointing is a burly man with the rough beard and messy hair, giving an unpleasant feeling for those who see him. I can feel that guy is not a good man, and if she said he have many enemies, that reasonable.
The traffic light show green light and our car start to move. I give Sam direction to make us arrive in hospital faster.
"Sam, after that cross-road take the left turn, we'll arrive faster"
That's when Macy suddenly look blank at outside windows and said
"No, don't turn left. Drive straight ahead"
"Huh? What do you say?"
"Her body is near here, please believe me"
"Do it, Sam"
So, we follow her direction and arrive in a warehouse. We leave the car and take a look at the warehouse. It has fences surrounding the building and it's locked. There's no way we just get into the warehouse. I ask Macy about this
"Are you sure she's here? In this warehouse? This looks like ordinary warehouse"
"can't we just go in and ask there?"
"Without a court order, that's not possible"
"Yep. We can't trespass private properties" Sam added my words.
"Seems there's nothing we can do here"
"You're the right partner"
When we about to leave, there's a stern sound from warehouse side. A man appears from there
"Hey, what are you doing here?"
Macy startled when seeing that man and without hesitate pointing at him and saying
"That's the murderer!"
"Huh? What do you say?" that man seems surprised to hear that
Me and Sam who watching this scene panicking, when Macy about to speak again, we hurriedly cover her mouth and apologizing then drag her to the car
"Sorry, never mind what she said"
"Yeah, everything is okay. We leave here"
"Get in the car, Macy!"
So we put Macy back to the car and continue our drive to the hospital. That man just watching us leaves without saying anything.
