Chapter 5: Umbrella's Shadow
I arrive at the back of the building, there is no one except for the metal door hidden behind a billboard. The door is massive with a special lock and the dealer I killed didn't have the key. "Capacity On" I say while trying to push the door gently to avoid making noise. The door starts to creak softly after 5 minutes. I can barely feel my arms as it opens slightly on the right side. There is enough room for me to squeeze slightly to the side.

It's new, but I think I'll take the third one to see what this famous monster factory gives.

I discreetly launch myself into the underground to check the area, my hood is well in place, I do not meet anyone in the area until a more open area. There are 5 men who are playing cards around a table. They are all armed and their weapons are in holsters placed on their chairs. I return slightly to the corridor before releasing the dogs.
When I see them obediently sitting while their body has no signs of rot or tears. They almost look like Dobermans living without any worries but I know the system wouldn't fool me. It must be like the G virus I had. The dogs are modified so they don't stand out outside.
They follow me discreetly to the door. I point at the men "kill them" I say before tossing a coin to the other side to distract them. The next scene is as beautiful as it is horrifying. The dogs came in in a flash with each one a target and as the men looked towards the coin, each one was caught by the neck by a dog bite before quickly dying.
No sound was made except the bodies that fell to the ground. The dogs did not devour their victim and simply came back to my side. I start to collect the weapons and money but damn, there are still only Glocks. Not much diversity for firearms except my magnum.
5 Glocks, 75 9mm rounds and 3000 dollars more for me, while I'm picking up the loot one of the guys starts moving, I hurry up and place my hand on his neck holding him down to test my hypothesis for the factory and absorption.

"the timer shows a constraint that I need to analyze for my future captures" I thought, easily retaining the Zombie.

I hurry up to take control of the other 4 smiling at the confirmation of my hypothesis. At least the simple zombies will be no problem for me. I take out the 10 Zombie T's I have and they are similar to the dog, they have no visual defects except that they are 5 identical men and 5 identical women.
I continue exploring first after having put away the Zombie T's and the dogs in the factory which also serves as a reserve. I come across various guys on patrol but I capture each of them one by one before having them infected by a dog and putting them away in the factory. I got 10 more people.
I think I've reached the end of the complex according to the map I picked up from one of the guys. According to the last one I questioned, there are 50 people in this complex with the big boss. I got 15 so there must be about 35 people left.
Finally, a large room with operating tables everywhere, traces of dried blood are everywhere. There are researchers strangely with various armed men patrolling around the perimeter. I hear gunshots and as I look I see a female Zombie being shot in the head. So these are Umbrella researchers and these guys know how to take out weak Zombies.
Since they are conducting this kind of experiment, they must have a place where they dispose of the failures. I search around and find a small room in which he throws the body of the Zombie. I go back where I sabotage an electrical circuit breaker, which plunges the underground into darkness with only a few small lights on the floor and ceiling. I still hear gunshots in the previous room while I can see perfectly well in the dark. Each body takes a bullet in the head before some of the guards throw the bodies into the small room, 5 armed guys with flashlights come in my direction.
I release the zombies and the dogs behind in the corner of the wall before climbing to the ceiling by clinging to a hollow in the wall. "Attack" when I see the guys enter the pile of zombies before they themselves scream after the bite. Once finished, I convert them into zombies as I quickly dash into the room under cover of darkness with the dogs on my heels and the zombies following slowly. I dodge their torchlight and disarm each guy I see and throw him to the ground before a dog finishes him off by ripping his throat out. I finish extremely quickly and gather the researchers in a corner. I convert each body before turning to the dozen researchers.
"Who do you work for?" I asked as I knew it could only be Umbrella.
"We work for the underworld and you're going to suffer for interrupting us" one of them told me defiantly.
I grab him by the collar before throwing him towards the zombies "Eat him" I told them before turning to the others with bloodcurdling screams behind my back. I literally saw them pale at the sight behind me.
"I don't think the mob pays scientists to create biological weapons, second and last chance to answer me well" I say as the hood lets my vicious smile appear.
"We work for Umbrella" one of them says with a sigh before the others protest against him. He is a young African-American researcher, he looks to be barely thirty."
I hold out my hand to him before letting the zombies take care of the others. "What is your name? And where do the bodies that are used in these experiments come from?"
"My name is Jordan, I am an apprentice of Doctor Howard that you just killed. The bodies come from people captured by the local mob. Homeless, junkie that the dealers have pre-selected. There is even another laboratory that experiments on children from the orphanage. »
"What are you trying to create, from what I've seen, you manage to create zombies easily, yet, you execute them directly. Why?" I asked
"Actually, I don't really know except that Doctor Howard was testing various samples to see the reactions depending on the bodies. It's only a small laboratory compared to the central HQ but even Doctor Howard didn't have the accreditations to work there. Are you going to kill me?" he finished
"Sorry, but yes because even if you're only an assistant, you participated in it but I would leave your body outside so that you can be buried by your family if you have one." I said looking at him started to cry.
"No, you can turn me into a zombie, I have no connection and if I was ever born later, it would just be me on one of those operating tables because I was in an orphanage too. I ask you one thing, try to protect the children who are still alive" he said before picking up a piece of glass and slitting his throat.
"So be it, Iron and Wesker, you had no interest in getting in my way" I said to myself before leaning down and biting his hand to see if I can change the dead as well, after a few minutes, still nothing happens. I signal one of the dogs to bite Jordan's hand.
He gets up in no time after that. I put my hand on his head for control.

I really didn't expect this but he's already struggling, I place him on his stomach before blocking his arms behind his back. Even with my increased strength, I have trouble holding him.

The ground beneath us both begins to crack as he headbutts it, I change my grip by blocking him with my legs. Before completely blocking his limbs, he gives me a solid blow to the head but I manage to completely control him so that he can no longer struggle.

The good point of this little accident has at least shown me that I don't have to block my target. I just have to hold it and let time pass

This zombie does not exist in the timeline of the games, it is stronger and more intelligent. Its metabolism is comparable to 1/10 of the modified Virus G.

The time to produce one of these new Zombies is really high when compared to the classic zombie or even dogs.
I watch the Zombie in front of me slowly get up before noticing that his slit throat is closing. After a minute, there are no scars left and if there wasn't blood on those clothes, you'd think he was normal.
"Master," he says suddenly in the same voice as before.
I'm shocked that he can speak up. It seems like I won't have to rely entirely on the plagas to control my subordinates.
I do some quick tests with him to assess his intellectual performance and he doesn't seem to have lost his mental abilities.
After less than a minute, his ability to speak has returned to an acceptable level so as not to pass for an illiterate.
"Is there any useful evidence or evidence here?" I asked my new subordinate
"No, master. There is no connection between this place and Umbrella but it seems to me that there is a certain amount of money further inside the complex." He replied as my eyes lit up.
My current food consumption has become large enough that my nightly escapades against the gangs are almost not enough.
Luckily, I found a substitute with some super nutritious crap produced by Umbrella for not too much money but more money is not to be refused
"Jordan, come back into the factory for now," I say before searching around the place.
I start searching the place again. The lights suddenly come back on before I take a bullet in the back.
