Out of The Hurricane, Into The Tsunami (part 1)

Will stared at the mansion as if he was looking at a nightmare. Steve could tell just by Will's face, they should tread carefully if they were to enter this obtuse house.

Steve spoke wearily, "What exactly am I looking at?" Steve had little knowledge of the beginning of Umbrella's downfall. He had no idea what he was looking at.

"Well from what I can tell, we are looking at a complex mansion, inside of the fourth level of a complex building," Will spoke with sass as he took a step closer to the mansion, "If I am correct, this is a replica of the Spencer mansion. Last year, The president was going to release all of the information involving Racoon City and Umbrella. Before he could, though, he was assassinated," Steve slowly looked to Will, completely shocked by this information. Why was Steve not told about this and why is he hearing this from a man who has been on the run from Umbrella, "Shortly after his death, the information was released to the world as an official file from the B.S.A.A.. The file didn't reveal any of the citizens that survived the incident. It only revealed that 4 survived it."

Steve gave a nod, then pointed at the mansion, "That's cool an' all, but what does that have to do with this mansion?"

Will stared at Steve and scoffed before he answered, "Everything... This mansion is where the T-Virus was created," Steve's eyes widened as he tried to look serious and keep composure as Will continued, "This mansion was in the Arklay Mountains next to Racoon City."

Steve gave another nod and took a deep breath, "Well, either way, we have a job to do," Steve handed Will his ax, "Kill whatever moves and doesn't talk. Make sure nothing is left other than us."

"Understood," Will said as he took the ax. Will then took a deep breath as he glared ahead at the entrance of the mansion. Both boys walked on ahead.

They heard the humming of a machine above them. Steve looked up in the direction of the sound and saw another roof drone. its sensor was looking around in their direction. Steve groaned as he pulled out his shotgun once again, "Guh... Why now?" Steve turned and faced the forest behind them. Will looked at Steve, then saw the drone and gave a chuckle as he dropped gis ax and pulled out the assault rifle.

The drone scanned Steve and blared out a siren, to which, summoned the hunter. It screeched out a howl of its own kind in the forest as Steve and Will readied their guns. They both could hear the Hunter charging through the forest. They both could hear branches snap and heavy thuds for footsteps. Steve kept his focus as Will looked through the iron sight of his gun.

CRASH!! The Hunter lept out from the forest, arm at the ready to slash at Steve and Will. Both boys dove to the side to avoid getting hit by this beastly creature. Steve tucked and rolled onto a knee before he aimed his gun at the Hunter, Who was busy as it tried to pull its hand out of the rough soil in the ground. No hesitation, Steve Turned off the safety of his gun and fired at the Hunter. The creature's shoulder took most of the pellets, as it got thrown back from the gunfire. It fell on its tailed rump before Will stood straight and fired several rounds into the Hunters tough skull.

It took five shots of the assault rifle before the hunter stood still. Before it had laid still, it thrashed about on the ground, violently as it cried. It acted like an actual creature in pain, as it tried to defend itself before dying. Steve and Will looked disgusted. For all the Hunter knew, it was a normal creature. It had no knowledge or memory of what it was before and was just doing what it can to survive. At least, that was what it looked like to Steve.

Will aimed it the drone and shot it. It fell to the ground with a metallic thud. Will spoke boldly, "No more of that shit. Let's get in this mansion and get this over with," Steve gave Will a soft nod as he turned away from the dead beast.

They both calmly walked to the double doors, gun in hand. Both men froze when they heard gnarling cries on the other end of the doors. Steve took this moment to refill his shotgun. he glanced over to Will, who was checking how much ammunition he had left in his weapon. He shook his head and pulled out the ax. Steve gave a sigh as he put his shotgun to his back and pulled out his pistol.

Will looked at Steve and spoke quietly, "Your aim is better than mine. use your non-dominant hand to hold your knife under your pistol - brace the gun over it."

Steve looked back at Will and took a moment to think about it. The man really is smart, Steve hadn't considered doing that here, but for surprises, having the knife already out would be handy. Steve did as suggested. He pulled out his combat knife and held it with the blade pointed it ahead, bracing his pistol, having the wrist that held the gun over the wrist that held the knife, similar to how one would use a flashlight under a pistol, "Like this?"

Will gave a nod as he held the ax firmly with both hands. Both boys got closer to the door. The sounds on the other end had gotten violent and were terrifying to listen to. Steve slowly reached to the right door handle. It was those fancy handles that had a trigger that opens the door. Before Steve could grab the handle, the violent roars, and cries inside the mansion went silent. Steve froze and for a second, he actually felt his heart race out of fear. Steve Slowly looked to Will. He needed to confirm if he should be scared or not. Will Breathed heavily flaring his nostrils and was doing everything he could to not look scared. The man was trying to hype himself up to whatever was at the other end of that door.

Scared. Steve should be scared.

Steve looked back to the door. He took a deep breath and gritted his teeth. His index finger pulled the button and the door was so dense and heavy, they both could hear the latch unlock. The door creaked like a large Oak tree falling. Of course, it echoed throughout all of the entrance. Steve only opened it just enough for Steve's head to peek through.

In the inside of the mansion was the main hall. It was all shiny and dimly lit from candles between a staircase, dead center of the hall as well as a chandelier. Colored doors in nearly every direction. It was all pretty fancy, but it was hard to make a proper judgment of the interior with all of the blood and bodies scattered in every direction. Hunters, Crimson Heads, even normal zombies. Just a countless number of decaying still bodies. The only thing that stood alive inside, was a giant grey man in a deep black trench coat. Its giant hand held a Hunter by the chest. The grey man nonchalantly tossed the limp Hunter to the ground.

Steve quickly and silently closed the door and looked back at Will who was very curious about what Steve had seen, "...Well? What's in there?" Will said needing some good news.

Steve looked in shock and had lost all color to his face as he tried to muster the words out, "I... I think something did our job for us..." Will looked puzzled but clearly worried. Steve continued, "It was just a bunch of bodies all around... And a tall... Tall grey man."

Will stood there, face to face with a terrified Steve, and felt the fear emanating off of him. Will's eyes went wide and his mouth hung in shock. They had a Tyrant inside the building this whole damn time. There was a lot Will wanted to say but the words left him and all he could say was, "Oh... Fuck..."
