Chapter - 2 | Grandel
According to Zed's memories, cultivation of mana is a very hard and exhausting process. It requires affinity with elements and a body that has no resistance to mana.
If ordinary people with mana resistant bodies start to refine mana , it can lead to that person's death due to mana poisoning.
Only 1 in 10000 humans have to capabilities to refine mana and become a successful mage.
"How do i check my affinity with elements?" Zed thought to himself and searched his memories for the solution.
"So i can feel the elements while meditating?" Zed found the answer after searching his memories for a while.
He sat down on a big stone in the cave and circulated the mana near him to travel near his heart according to the technique.
"Huh?"
"So many different colored elements?"
Zed felt that there were many different elements near him, they varied in colour and felt different to him.
There were many elements near him with different colours like red, blue, green, brown, white, black etc, in which one was even distorting the space around it.
He concluded that he has wind, fire, water, earth, lightning, wood, space, light and dark element affinity.
He actually had four of rare advanced elements that every mage desired and all basic elements.
"I guess the inscriptions in the cave were true. i really strucked a jackpot and accquired a perfect body to cultivate magic." Zed thought to himself.
He continued the meditation and felt like every mana particles that he absorbed improved his thinking capabilities and physical strength.
After 10 mins, He felt that he was ready to break through to Apprentice Mage Level 1.
He circulated all the mana that he absorbed to travel near his heart and created a mana vault according to the technique.
When someone successfully creates a mana vault in his body, they can expand it in future via meditation. All the mana he uses after creating the vault will automatically be replenished with time.
"I actually reached Apprentice Mage level after only meditating for only 10 minutes. My new body is indeed a perfect physique for mages." Zed thought to himself with a smile on his face.
Ordinary people need to atleast meditate for half a month to reach this height. Of course, all the mana stones in the cave also helped him to create the mana vault without any obstructions.
Zed stood up and circulated his mana according the tier 0 magic spell "Wisp of fire" that he got from his memories.
Suddenly, A small finger-sized wisp of fire appeared in his hand.
"It actually worked!" Zed jumped and shouted in amusement.
He tried many tier 0 spells like "Lesser breeze", "Water shot", "Rock spikes", "Lesser Shock", "Lesser Heal" etc
But after casting so many various spells, he felt a little dizzy because he had very less mana left in his body.
Zed saw that It was almost midnight outside the cave. So, he sat down again in the same place and meditated for 8 hours straight instead of sleeping.
After 8 hours, he felt that If the mana in his body before was as big as a drop of water then now it was comparable to a bucket of water.
He felt very refreshed both physically and mentally after meditating.
Zed actually broke through to level 3 of Apprentice Mage. Ordinary people need to atleast meditate for 3-4 months for this.
This place was a heaven for any mage. He even had a perfect body to support that quick speed.
Zed felt a little hungry. He wondered how he was able to live for 10,000 years without eating. Maybe it can related to that unknown liquid.
Zed saw that the liquid had almost dried up and felt a vast amount of mana from them even if it was only a drop of the liquid.
Zed stood up and was about to go out of the cave in search of food but suddenly he felt a large amount of spatial mana from the coffin.
He carefully analyzed that coffin for a moment and felt a urge to inject his mana in the coffin.
He circulated a small amount of mana and injected it to the coffin but the coffin was like a huge pit of abyss. it automatically sucked half of his mana but teleported him to a different space.
He used spell called "luminosity" to light up the dark room.
It was a very small room with a table, a chair, a small bed, many different kinds of books, clothes, a magic wand and a strange looking ring.
Zed suddenly realized that he was actually naked. he found a good looking purple coloured mage robe and wore it.
He glanced at a ordinary looking book whose title was "The Dairy of the Grand Mage - Grandel" which was on the table.
Zed started reading that book curiously. It was a thick book that Grandel had written about his own life.
It included all kinds of fortuitous encounters and everything that happened in his life.
"Year 7900, I was born in a family of a viscount in Zeldia Empire"

"Thanks old man, You were truly a great man. i will definitely surpass you and complete your last wish." Zed thought to himself.
He read the books in the room but realized that he already has these knowledge in his memories given by Grandel.
Zed couldn't help but pick up the top-grade magic wand and spatial ring artifact.
Magic wands can be used to efficiently cast spells and spatial rings can be used to store items. It is a very neccessary tool for mages.
This spatial ring actually had area of 16000m³ inside it. It was a priceless peerless artifact.
He left the coffin by using the rest half of his mana and stored the coffin and every item in his spatial ring.
Zed suddenly felt a urge to increase his strength because even Grandel who was a peak grand mage couldn't save himself from dangers of the world.
He left the cave and wandered the forest in search of food or any animals.
