Chapter 22 - Who Else Were You Expecting?

'How did things...turn out like this?'

Staring at the handsome face that was covered in water droplets, Ji Anyao's mind suddenly turned blank! 

If she remembered correctly... Bai Siyu stepped up to protect his fiancée last night and had left Seduction nightclub before everyone else did. 

Why did he appear here now?

The person who accompanied her till the end and carried her to the car where he took liberties with her was Yan Lie. How did it become Bai Siyu!?! 

Ji Anyao felt like her mind was about to malfunction and she was suddenly dumbfounded, at a complete loss for what to do. 

With an austere expression on his handsome face, Bai Siyu gripped her chin using his clammy fingers, causing her to shiver because of the cold. He questioned in an icy cold voice, "Who else were you expecting?"

He was using so much force that Ji Anyao began to find it painful. She frowned subconsciously and tried to break free from his shackles, only to have him grip it together. 

Ji Anyao's eyes were bloodshot and the pain robbed her of her ability to speak. 

Seeing her awkward expression, Bai Siyu simply thought that it was because she hated him and felt aggrieved for spending the night with him. His gloomy pupils narrowed and his bottomless eyes were filled with coldness, as if a storm was brewing in them. 

"Why? Are you disappointed to see that you didn't wake up beside Yan Lie?"

Ji Anyao was no longer sleepy after hearing his words! 

She looked down to see that her dress had indeed been changed into the robe provided by the hotel. 

Realizing what had happened, Ji Anyao couldn't help but turn pale as she felt an urge to cry. 

Not expecting Bai Siyu to be that shameless, Ji Anyao began convulsing out of anger. Without hesitation, she raised her hand and gave him a tight slap! 

"Bastard!"

Smack! 

The hard slap resulted in a smacking sound when her hand hit his taut skin. 

Not expecting her to do that all of a sudden, Bai Siyu did not manage to dodge in time and ended up taking the slap! 

She was very forceful and seemed to have channeled all her energy into the slap, causing his face to tilt to the other side and a red mark to form on his skin which outlined the shape of her long fingers. 

The intense odor of blood began to spread in his mouth. 

She raised her hand to wipe the corners of her mouth, only to have her fair skin stained with the dark red blood.

Bai Siyu looked down a little and a dangerous aura began to brew around him. His face was extremely tempestuous and his eyes were like icy cold daggers as he glanced at her with a bloodthirsty gaze. 

Sensing the horrifying aura that was swarming towards her, the terrified Ji Anyao subconsciously tried to shun. 

However, before she could even turn around, her shoulders were forcefully pressed against the bed by Bai Siyu who then inched closer towards her, staring down at her while keeping his hands on her shoulders. 

Showing signs of losing his temper, he questioned coldly, "Is it that devastating for you to be with me?"

Ji Anyao turned her head to look away from him. 

In the next second, he forcefully moved her head back to face him. 

Staring at his menacing eyes, Ji Anyao was intimidated but also furious and frustrated.

'Is he upset? But... what right does he have to be upset? I'm the one being taken advantage of. Does he still expect me to be immensely grateful to him for not despising me?' 

"I don't feel aggrieved."

Smiling coldly, Ji Anyao slowly clipped, "I feel disgusted."

Upon hearing her words, Bai Siyu's eyes turned gloomier, but he grinned instead of losing his temper. 

"You feel disgusted? Have you ever questioned your conscience before saying such words?"

Ji Anyao frowned.

"What do you mean?"

With a sinister smirk, he lowered his body and moved closer to her face.

They held each other's gazes, their faces just inches apart. 

Ji Anyao's face stiffened and she subconsciously said without hesitation, "Bai Siyu... don't cross the line!"

"This is nothing. I've done things that are way more outrageous than this."

Bai Siyu let go of her a little and pinched her cheeks with his cold fingertips.

He said in a low, distant, and devilish voice, "Don't pretend to be so pure and chaste. Use your brains and think about it carefully... At that time, who was the one who threw herself at me?"

"Hah, I threw myself at you voluntarily?" Ji Anyao retorted sneeringly. 

"If you hadn't laced my drink with underhanded means, would I have passed out and allowed you to do whatever you wanted with me!?"

"Underhanded means?" 

Bai Siyu chuckled with disdain.

"Ji Anyao, you've belittled me! I can get you anytime I want. Why would I have to resort to pulling tricks? Even if you're conscious now… aren't you still within my control?" 

"Believe it or not, in fact... you were the one who leaped into my arms last night. In order to prevent you from misunderstanding and saying that I took advantage of you, I even took a video of everything that happened. Do you want to watch it?"

"You took a video of it!?!" Frowning with a flabbergasted expression, Ji Anyao hollered, "Why would a lunatic like you exist in this world!?"

Of course she wouldn't want to watch it! 

She did not want to recall a single thing about what happened last night! She wished she could erase it all from her memory! She simply regarded it as getting bitten by a dog and  didn't bother wasting any energy and time on it at all! 

"However... you can think about it carefully and figure out who set you up last night." 

Upon hearing his words, Ji Anyao looked at him apprehensively.

"It really wasn't you?"

"If you insist that I was the one, so be it. I can only blame myself for not pushing you away... you like bearing grudges, so does it matter to you if I was the one who laced your drink?"

Although Ji Anyao refused to agree with him, she had to admit that... he was right. 

If he was the culprit, there was no need for him to deny it at all. 

Besides, with his prideful and arrogant nature, he wouldn't care to use such lowly and despicable means. 

"If it wasn't you, who else can it be? Could it be... Yan Lie?"

Ji Anyao's eyes lit up when she said those words. 

"Are you hoping it was him?"

Ji Anyao rolled her eyes at him.

"That's better than you being the culprit."

"Hah." Bai Siyu scoffed, not bothered by it. "Have you really taken a liking to him? If you had woken up beside him just now, would you have reacted differently?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Well, at least Yan Lie is much gentler and more considerate than you are. He knows to dote on others, unlike someone here...who has an erratic temper and is so fickle-minded."

"Hah!"

Bai Siyu scoffed coldly again and his tone suddenly became dangerous. "Are you saying that I don't treat you well or dote on you?"
