105 Mime
Chance encounters were chance encounters simply because they were unplanned and could not be predicted.
One person could go their entire lives never encountering one person and even going as far as walking by them everyday yet never interacting in any way.
Some had the same family, friends and acquaintances as others or even went to the same events yet they still failed to form any kind of connection.
Even if two people did bypass those things and were able to interact, there still needed to be a willingness for them to want to know each other further and it depended on how compatible they were together whether their connection would last.
Some encountered their life long friends and lovers during a simple encounter yet bypassed so many others in their daily lives.
Among the people of Saffron City, there was one such person who had it much more difficult than others to form a close connection with others from birth.
From the moment of their birth, there was something that made it much more difficult to form a connection to others and to help bridge that gap between two people.
In an ordinary family that was called the Lotte family which could barely afford to afford the higher home prices of Saffron City, a child was born which was a challenge to raise in such circumstances.
Despite the challenge of having a child being born, the Lotte family made every effort to prepare for the birth and to raise the child.
When the child was born, they welcomed their baby daughter into the world naming her Daniella Lotte and giving her pet nicknames like Dannii and Dan-Dan.
Dannii was welcomed into the world warmly by her parents and received a lot of love from them but soon a problem revealed itself.
The baby girl did not make any noise and continued to do so for a long time.
Even when it was the time for normal children to begin making noises and starting to attempt speaking, Dannii never made a single noise from her mouth.
The mother and father started to grow worried and sought help to find out the cause or problem which resulted in them finding out that their daughter was a mute.
The mother and father struggled with such news since it would be much more difficult for their daughter to connect with others like everyone else.
Everything else was fine with their daughter but she would have to work much harder than others in order to communicate with others.
From the moment of her birth, she was given a big barrier that was difficult to cross and something that made her different from others.
Not everyone was so willing to be patient with her as she learned to write or display her words and intentions through her mouthing the words, making facial expressions or different bodily gestures.
Her parents raised her with love and care but the outside world was not always so welcoming and patient with her.
Just as Dannii was becoming more withdrawn, her parents used what little they had in order to get their hands on a Mime Jr for their daughter.
Through Mime Jr, Danni was able to gain a companion and someone that she could learn from.
The expressiveness and other qualities of Mime Jr was something that had helped to make her more lively and outgoing.
She may not have been able to succeed in making a strong lasting relationship but she still had Mime Jr and her parents to rely on.
Her confidence started to grow a little at a time as she started to slowly understand a little more about herself and what she liked.
There was one day when her Psychic powers manifested and her parents were overjoyed upon finding out.
Her powers may have been very weak but there was some hope in Dannii being able to overcome her disability if she learned how to use her powers to communicate with others.
The mother and father rushed to research the procedures for Psychics to enter the Saffron City Gym and they were left both shocked and helpless.
Certain power users among humans were very fairly rare and certain institutions that raised them were very selective in who they took in.
Anyone with great potential and powers could get in with a sponsorship but everyone else had to pay to attend the training and classes in order to help seek guidance on how to better control their powers and how to improve them.
Her parents could not afford to pay such fees so they had to put off any such plans and delay them until they were better off and able to afford it.
Time passed and Mime Jr evolved into Mr Mime who continued to be Dannii's closest companion.
At the age of ten, Dannii started to get up the courage to earn PokéDollars for herself along with Mr Mime.
The two made a decent pair who understood each other well so they were able to occasionally venture outside of the city walls to take on easier tasks but their main way to support themselves came later once the interactions between them caught the attention of others.
Dannii and Mr Mime started their own small street performance together to earn what little they could in order to help contribute to the funds needed.
Dannii finally managed to raise the funds needed along with Mr Mime and her doting parents who never gave up on her.
So long as she continued to keep up her current activities, Dannii was confident in being to support learning how to use her Psychic abilities.
Unfortunately she was met with more disappointment.
Dannii was given much less attention and tutelage in the Saffron City Gym due to her being older than most other new recruits.
Anyone younger would have more time to develop their abilities further and since Dannii was older than most others upon entry, her future growth would be quite limited in terms of mastery and growth of her own Psychic capabilities.
If she had exceptional talent then It could be possible to overcome such a hurdle but Dannii was lacking in that too.
Dannii was just another student that had low potential and would not amount to much so she quickly became someone that blended into the background or was excluded.
Dannii continued to work hard anyways not letting her circumstances get the better of her.
Months passed and she turned twelve years old which was when everything slowly started to affect her life.
