Elizabeth rushed into the Mansion and directly headed towards Liam's room. Elizabeth sighed in relief that her best friend was in a better condition than he was before.

"How are you feeling?" she asked a little louder in whisper with an bright smile on her face.

Liam somehow managed to nod a little to let her know that he was feeling good, he somehow knew that Elizabeth must be blaming herself for his accident, he wanted to tell her that she wasn't the reason for his accident but he couldn't because of the people around them. Grace, Liam's mother, was right beside his bed and didn't let go of Liam's hand and Steve, his father, was behind his wife. The man didn't show his emotions though he was happy to see his son regain his conscious. Then there was Ryan, who stood near the wall, Ryan was the one who was with Liam, when he opened his eyes. He was happy to see his cousin after many days at the same time he was angry, angry that someone tried to kill his brother and he wanted to know the truth.

"You better take care, Liam. You have no idea how much we all were worried about you," said the old man, Liam's grandfather, who was in a wheel chair. Liam looked at his grandfather and smiled when everyone turned to Fiona as she said:

"I think it is better for him to take rest now. We should leave," suggested Fiona and everyone in the room agreed to her a moment before Aaron. Aaron's presence in the room, surprised them. The man never liked to involve with any of his family members after his mother's death, apart from his grandfather. Aaron knew that his grandfather was also one among the people who lied about his identity but because of the love his grandfather showed him since he was brought to the Mansion, Aaron couldn't hate the man.

Aaron slowly walked to the bed where Liam was laying. "Glad to see you alive," said Aaron with a small smile on his face which made his grandfather overwhelmed with joy that his grandson has spoke to his cousin and so was Fiona.

Liam let out a weak chuckle and said in a low voice, "so am I."

The nurse who was beside the bed, continued to check his condition while Liam was speaking.

Aaron looked at his wife and then at Liam, "we can talk later. You need to take rest," he said as he understood Liam's intentions. Liam wanted to talk about the case since he has been in coma for more than a week. But Aaron felt it would be better if Liam took rest as the case can wait.

"Do you think it is safe for us to dig the past? I don't want to anyone to get hurt," said Elizabeth to Aaron in worry.

"Everything will be fine once we know the truth, Lizzy. Trust me," Aaron assured her as he drove his car to drop Elizabeth to her office.

Elizabeth nodded in agreement, she wasn't sure about what might happen in future but she was sure that everything would be fine as long as she was with Aaron.

A week later, Elizabeth and Aaron visited Liam in the evening. None of the them wanted their family members to doubt them. "Is it okay to talk here about the case here?" Elizabeth asked Liam to confirm.

Liam nodded and said, "This is the right place. No one can guess what we are upto."

"You must be aware of who Margaret Winds is to me," Aaron said.

"I am now, "answered Liam.

" How did you find out?" Elizabeth inquired.

" I have my ways to gather information. Let's keep that aside and talk about the clues we have right now to reach the person behind the murder," Liam shrugged.

"The things we found out about the case are pointing towards Aaron's father, Marcus," pointed Elizabeth.

"What do you think, Aaron?" Liam looked at Aaron expecting an answer from him.

"It can either be the man who gave birth to me or it can be someone else who wants us to believe that Marcus Winchester was the one who tortured his lover. It can aslo be none of them," Liam heeded to Aaron's words.

"What makes you say that it can be none of the things you said?" asked Elizabeth to Aaron.

"I'm not sure. I just thought of different possible ways," he explained and took out his phone and excused himself from the room when he received a call from his assistant.

"Do you think it was Aaron's father who tortured his mother?" asked Elizabeth as soon as Aaron left the room

"I'm not sure, Eliza. From the information I received, Aaron's father fell in love with Margaret even after he was a married man and Aaron's mother knew the consequences of falling in love with a man like Marcus. Mrs. Quinn, the woman I met before my accident was a colleague of Margaret and your mother. She said a man was head over heals for Margaret, the woman doesn't know that it was Marcus. As far as she knows, somehow the man convinced Margaret to accept his love. She said that the man's family came to know about his affair and Aaron's birth. It must be grandpa who was furious but because he wanted a successor he accepted Aaron wholeheartedly. Mrs. Quinn also added, a few months later, Margaret gave birth and found that her baby died. She was completely heart broken when she heard the news of her baby's death and above that, the man who promised to take care of her, left her. Mrs. Quinn doesn't know much about Margaret's life because she wasn't too close to Aaron's mother. She resigned and cut all the contacts from the hospital and since then, Mrs. Quinn never met Margaret nor did your mother. We don't know what happened to her and how she lived before your mother met her, all we know is, she has turned into a drug addict by then."

"Do you think she was forced to take drugs?" asked Elizabeth with curiosity.

"I've no idea either," answered Liam.

It must've have been Marcus's plan to lie about Aaron. Poor Margaret, she couldn't even have a chance to look at her son while she was alive. Thinking about Margaret, Elizabeth's heart ached.

"This is the reason why Aaron hates to mingle with anyone of us. He treats everyone as his enemy and I'm sure you are aware of the reasons," Elizabeth nodded at Liam's words. "Its good to see you both together again."

Elizabeth blushed a little to Liam's words and nodded softly, "You were right. He did have his own reasons for whatever he did in the past," Elizabeth said thoughtfully. She felt her heart pain when she recollected the moment Aaron confessed everything to her, the night he took her to the restaurant which they used to go when they were in school.

Elizabeth turned her head when the door was pushed. It was Aaron. "Do remember what happened before your accident?" Aaron has finally asked the question which was bothering him since the past few days.

"I do," Liam replied.
