Rules of Life

"Your bags are in the car. Hurry Gabriel so that we can make it in time," my Mum said, picking her keys from the dining table. I looked at Warren who laughed at me. I shook my head and returned to my breakfast, sipping my cup of water when I was done.

I picked my crutches, went to the living room where my Mum was busy making final check of my things, especially emergency contacts. I was excited to be leaving today. I had spoken with my roommate, Matthew and he was a pretty nice guy. I had Room 16D on the Eastern Campus, and that meant going to class was much easy. Matthew was studying Civil Engineering, gave me a tour of the hostel each time we video chatted, and it seemed to reduce the tension.

Warren slung his bag, and said he was waiting for me in the car. I took a look at the family portrait, and gave a smile to the faces there, including Veronica. You must be so happy wherever you are. Wish you were here.
