Epilogue

I sit in the backyard, a mug filled with hot cocoa nestled in my hands, watching Stark run around, happy. The chilly air seemed to seep into my sweater, encouraging me to sip more of the cocoa before it gets cold with the wind. When done, I set my mug on the other side of me.

"Here, Starkie!" I called, and found my little bundle of furry love bounding to me, enthusiastically. He barked, licking and attempted gnawing on one of my French braids. Good thing I saw him first and got it out of his reach. "You wanna play fetch?" I asked, earning a bark in response. I shook the squeaky bone in front of Stark and that seemed to do the trick.

I stood up, raised the bone higher, made it squeak a little and threw it to the far end of the garden. Stark to the rescue and he was racing there in seconds.

I got a kick from the excitement on his little face, laughing —

"How are you?"

I spun around and who I saw left me racking my head for a reply.
