Our Divorce Is Only The Beginning .

Javier paused briefly before continuing, nervously clearing his throat, "After some research with the phone number you provided, he was able to find out that the number is still active."

"That means my father is still alive and using that number," Luis exclaimed as he jumped up from the sofa.

"Well, not exactly, but there's something strange about that number," Javier replied.

"What?" Luis inquired.

"After reviewing his phone history, two years after he left. On the 19th of September, 2016, He received a call from an unknown number, but when we tried to track it, we discovered it was a burn number, which means we couldn't track it," Javier explained carefully.

"There is nothing else after that."

"Unfortunately, there's nothing," Javier replied, "no texting, no phone calls, nothing."

Luis cursed under his breath.

"Don't be discouraged, sir; since the phone number is still active, we can try to track it; however, the agent stated that it would take some time, so you must be patient." Javier went on.

Luis let out a long sigh.

"All right, when he does track it, call me," he said before hanging up. He leaned back in his chair and ran his fingers through his hair.

"Where the hell are you, Dad? I have a lot of questions, "He muttered to himself.

After two weeks...

Lola put on her nicely ironed black suit, went to her bed, and took her handbag and phone from it.

"There is still no message," She muttered to herself as she stared at the screen of her phone. She sighed, switched it off, and tucked it into her bag.

When she heard a knock on her door, she said, "Come in." Laura walked in and bowed, "Madam, the car is ready."

Lola nodded and waved her hand again, and Laura turned to the door but came to a halt when she heard Livia yell downstairs.

Laura turned to Lola, who exhaled deeply before saying, "Let's go."

Lola and Laura exited the room, walked down the hall to the stairs, and descended it.

When they both arrived at the last step, their gaze was drawn to an angry Livia, who was grabbing the hair of one of the maids, who winced and begged for forgiveness.

"What are you thinking? Santiago purchased this dress for me; do you know how much it cost? It cost more than you earn in a year, and you have now ruined it."

"I apologise, Ms Livia."

"Sorry? Are you sorry? Is apologising going to remove this coffee stain? You, worthless wretch, need to be taught a lesson." Livia screamed as she raised her hand to slap the maid, but Lola grabbed her hand and pulled he other hand away from the maid's hair.

"Head maid, take her back to her quarters," Lola said, tightly clutching Livia's hands.

"What makes you think you can command anyone in this mansion?" Livia inquired, struggling to free herself from Lola's clutches.

"I am Santiago's fiancee, you have to take orders from me, and I order you to throw her out immediately," she said to the head maid.

The head maid turned to look at Livia, then at Lola. She was perplexed and unsure what to do.

"Livia, you seem to have forgotten that I'm still living here and that I'm still Santiago's 'first' wife because our divorce hasn't been finalised in court, so you have no right to make decisions here. I am still in charge as long as I am in this house." Lola tightened her grip on Livia's wrist, glaring into her eyes.

Livia looked at her, winced, and yelled, "This mansion and Santiago have always been mine from the beginning, you took it away from me," still struggling to free herself.

'Damn, this woman is tough.'

"I can't believe you still have the audacity to assert your authority. Remember, I'm also Santiago's wife, so I have the authority to make decisions as well." Livia murmured as an unsettling chuckle escaped her lips, her maniacal smile forming from ear to ear.

"Just admit it, Lola, I won and you lost, end of story!"

"I admit it, I guess I've been defeated, and once I divorce Santiago, you'll be the queen of this mansion," Lola said as she spread her hands out and let go of Livia's hand.

Livia smiled triumphantly as she massaged her swollen wrist.

Lola's expression changed completely into a cold and dark one as she folded her arms under her chest and spoke in an icy tone, "But isn't it too soon to call it quits? To be clear, our divorce is only the beginning; nothing has yet come to an end."

Livia's smile faded as she shivered and stumbled backwards, wondering if she had always been this frightening.

"Head maid, take her back to her quarters, no one is firing anyone," Lola said authoritatively.

Nobody argued or questioned anything. The head maid bowed and escorted the maid back to her quarters.

"No way ! What about my dress? Will you accept responsibility for it?" Livia inquired of Lola.

Lola turned away and approached the door, saying, "Now why should I accept responsibility for it? Simply ask your beloved fiance to purchase you a new one."

Livia furrowed her brow as she watched Lola leave the house.

Lola got into her car, pulled out her phone, and checked the date, "January 15th, my schedule is also tight today," She muttered to herself.

She checked her phone and said quietly, "still no message, it's been a week."

'Why am I so eager to hear from him again?' she wondered as she clutched her phone.

Just as she was about to dismiss that thought, her phone began to ring, causing her heart to thud. As a wave of disappointment washed over her, she looked at the caller ID,'Marco,' sighed deeply, and answered the phone.

"Good morning, Madam," he said.

"What exactly is it?" She inquired coldly.

"You seem to be in a bad mood this morning, madam," he said, his voice slightly amused.

"Stop talking," Lola commanded.

"Ahem! Yes... Anyway, madam, I made some changes to your schedule, "he stated.

Lola's brow furrowed and she inquired, "Why is that? And you didn't think to notify me first before changing it."

"I'm so sorry madam, it just happened unexpectedly. The meeting was rescheduled for another day by the director of Han Group Ltd and the model from EXD Entertainment couldn't make it today for some reason."

"Oh, I see, okay, so I don't have any other meetings today."

"Not at all, madam; I'll handle the rest."

"Alright," she said before hanging up.

'It appears that I will be leaving work early today.'

Livia stormed into her room, slamming the door shut.

"She's grating on my nerves!" She screamed and started smashing everything breakable in her room.

Livia sat on her bed, staring at her messy room, clenching her fists against the duvet and gritting her teeth.

When her phone rang, she exhaled and looked down at the cracked screen of her phone, which was lying on the ground, before standing up and picking it up.

She focused her attention on the caller ID, which displayed an unknown number.

"Who the hell is this?" she asked herself, immediately answering.

"Hello"

"Hello, Ms Livia," the person on the other end of the line said.
