9 Chapter 9

After trying to be aggressive towards her husband, but failing, Charlotte will not give up and will try to continue. At least she and Axel were in the same room, from time to time it could be Axel who would approach Charlotte, or she could deliberately sleep in her husband's bed.

After Axel refused what Charlotte was doing, he chose to rest and turn around. His feeling became strange after getting an aggressive attitude from his wife. It was a little strange, but that's how Axel felt when he was close to his wife.

Charlotte, who was still awake, tried to work on the knitting she was making. She tried to take her mind away from wanting to touch Axel's body. The rejection was enough for her, and she didn't want to face another rejection. However, Charlotte remained sweet to Axel.

"Good evening, husband," said Charlotte, watching Axel. Her gaze was as if she was looking at a delicious meal in front of her eyes, but could not eat it because the dish was poisonous.

"Em," murmured Axel answered Charlotte. He tried to be ignorant but did not want to be seen if he ignored his wife.

Charlotte smiled and continued her knitting, she was very happy to seduce her husband tonight. However, the temptation did not end there. Charlotte recounted her past to provoke Axel to tell her too.

"I'm curious about the news of the soldier who was close to me, can he forget all about us? I don't mean to be arrogant, but having a relationship with a princess is dream-like in a fairy tale, right?" said Charlotte.

"Why don't you just meet again? it would be better if you meet and repeat the past, right? So there is no more talk of the past that I will hear because you already know and repeat the story of your past." Axel answered by closing his eyes.

"Aren't you going to be jealous?"

Charlotte confidently asked that question, even though she should have known what answer Axel would give from the attitude that had been given by her husband.

Axel opened his eyes and turned around, and saw Charlotte. He could not understand what Charlotte was saying. Don't be jealous, just to think about himself, Axel feels very lazy.

Charlotte realized that when Axel saw her, they stared at each other. Then, Axel turned around again while shaking his head. Charlotte's husband didn't want to respond to what his wife said.

"Why? I'm just asking," said Charlotte innocently.

Axel realizes that Charlotte is still trying to make him talk about the past, but he remains on his stance to keep quiet .His wife's babbling was just a bedtime fairy tale.

"I told you I won't tell you about my past. So don't keep trying and tell me anything else, understand?" replied Axel in a flat tone. It sounded like a stern warning to Charlotte and told her that she didn't care about the past or her love story with her soldiers.

"You stubborn man. You will see, you will also tell a lot of things to me," Charlotte muttered.

Charlotte who wants to build communication and romance with her husband must swallow the bitter reply given by her husband. But she did not want to give up because this was just the beginning of her approach, there was still a lot of time she had not used because they would be together for the rest of their life.

The night was getting late, Charlotte fell asleep in a sitting position leaning on her bed. She really couldn't help feeling sleepy while knitting. Charlotte also tidied up her knitting utensils to hurry to bed. However, when she wanted to get out of bed, she saw something strange about Axel.

Axel was oblivious to something, he was having a nightmare. Charlotte wanted to wake him up but was a little scared. Because Axel was dreaming and delirious until he was sweating corn kernels. That dream must be so frightening that Axel is like this.

"Should I wake him up?" Charlotte said, "No, just let it. Let him enjoy the nightmare, that's the result if you ignore me. But, if I don't wake him up like that all night, my sleep will also be disturbed."

Charlotte chose to go back to her bed and sleep. However, ignoring Axel also made her nervous. She kept glancing at her husband to make sure, was Axel not delirious anymore? when she glanced, it turned out that Axel was still delirious, he looked very tired from the dream. Charlotte again doubts herself, should she leave her husband?

Charlotte seemed to have no other choice. Finally, she got out of bed and tried to approach Axel. But, not yet getting to her husband's bed, Axel finished his thoughts, he went back to sleep calmly. Charlotte was able to breathe freely and did not disturb her husband's sleep.

"Finally sleep well," said Charlotte, "Do not make me hesitate, and feel guilty for not waking you from that nightmare."

She went back to her bed and lay on her back to Axel. Her eyes began to close, but her mind was still awake and trying to keep thinking.

That curiosity was still approaching Charlotte, she kept wondering what her husband was dreaming of. Guesses kept popping up, and the biggest thing was that her husband dreamed of the woman associated with the locket.

Charlotte just realized, she had seen a similar pendant in her mother's room. Pendants shaped like that are usually used to store a symbol of love. Symbols can be a combination of blood, haircuts, and others because they are shaped like small tubes.

"It is true, it is a pendant from his past. Should I just destroy the locket? So that Axel will completely forget about his past. Better to destroy it and perform a ritual, so that Axel is really in my arms," ​​Charlotte muttered.

Charlotte, who couldn't sleep that night, got up from her bed and tried to find the locket around the table near her husband's bed. Charlotte just wants to pay close attention to what is a symbol of her husband's love for her past.

Charlotte was sneaking around so that her husband wouldn't wake up. Unfortunately, the locket wasn't around the table. She then tried to open the table drawer, but the locket wasn't there either. Charlotte also felt hopeless, she became annoyed and decided to just go back to her bed.
