14 Chapter 14

The afternoon before dinner with family, Axel returned to his room to wash up and change his night clothes. Charlotte who was in the room acted, as usual, didn't talk much and didn't see much of Axel.

Axel tries to pay attention to Charlotte, he wonders to himself, is he able to love this woman who is in the same room with him and who has become his wife completely? Can her feelings easily shift from past stories? Axel was completely in doubt.

Charlotte, who was sitting on her bed, got up and found her husband who was looking at her.

"Is there something wrong with me?" asked Charlotte.

Confused by the look Axel was giving her, Charlotte made sure there was nothing wrong with her. She looked at the dress and also held her beautiful face, so that nothing could change his appearance.

"Nothing, I just want to see you deeper," replied Axel.

"What for? your feelings will not change to me either, "said Charlotte.

Charlotte's beautiful face turned grim when she said that to her husband. What she said was the true expression of the deepest heart. She wanted with his words, Axel could realize.

Axel smiled at his wife's words, he thought it was an insinuation in the form of a joke for him. Axel was not at all hurt because the feeling was distracted when he realized that his wife was very beautiful and cute. Axel's feelings slowly began to change, he softened a little towards his wife.

"Never mind, quickly shower and change clothes, don't let mom and dad wait," said Charlotte. She looks embarrassed and just leaves her husband.

Axel smiled again at his wife's behavior, which looked awkward because of his gaze and smile. While looking at his wife and maintaining his smile, Axel muttered to himself, "I just realized you're so cute."

Axel also realized that he had never been like this to Charlotte before. However, Axel was confused again, was this a sincere feeling for Charlotte, or did it arise after hearing a heart-scratching word from his mother? Axel couldn't feel it for sure.

"I'm very worried about Axel and Charlotte's household. I don't want Charlotte to feel unhappy here," Axel's mother told her husband.

"That's why I tried so hard on him. You always try to defend and separate us while arguing. Now that worry arises what can you do?"

"That's not what I mean ... I've been trying to talk to him, whether he will listen to me or not, I'm also worried."

Axel's mother becomes even more worried because she is being blamed by her husband - for educating Axel wrongly. But that's not really what she meant.

Axel's father again discussed how the throne would transfer if Axel had no male offspring later. He discussed it quite calmly, though not at all because he knew how greedy his brothers were. Just like what Axel's mother had talked to her son before, the kingdom might be destroyed.

Axel's mother told her husband that she understood what he was feeling. However, they also cannot force it if they are not trusted to take care of a baby. The young and beautiful Charlotte will also be a little worried about changes in body shape if she has children later.

However, Axel's father didn't care, none of that was an excuse for him. If indeed they keep on trying, there will be results. Unless they think this marriage is just a game and an obligation, without any future responsibility.

"There are only two possibilities if neither of them can produce offspring. Charlotte who couldn't melt Axel's heart, or Axel who still had hearts with other people. If indeed the second possibility is true, then Charlotte might have to give up Axel to find a concubine he likes, "said Axel's father.

Axel's mother immediately saw her husband when the word "concubine" left his lips. "That can't happen. Marriage is not a joke, do you think it's easy to live with a concubine like you say that?"

"Indeed, the provisions are like that, and it is an open secret. How many kings have concubines in the whole country, I don't need to tell you, you also know. Don't you want to see your grandchildren until you die? No, right?"

Axel's mother fell silent. True, she didn't want to die by not seeing her grandson. At least once, she wanted to cradle her grandson and invite him to go out for a walk together. Perhaps, Axel should be warned even more. At least she already knew how her daughter-in-law felt, she just followed her husband's decision.

Meanwhile, Axel, who was in his room - waiting for his wife to clean herself in the room - had thoughts of being able to please her mother. At least tonight, Axel tried, and not necessarily Charlotte would be pregnant overnight. However, if Charlotte was pregnant, that was the rule. So, Axel has no debt anymore, either to his mother or to his wife.

Axel orders the high alcoholic liquor which is always made in his kingdom. He wants to enjoy together with Charlotte tonight. with the influence of the drink, he could momentarily forget his feelings for the past and could touch Charlotte easily too because he was unconscious.

Before Charlotte got out of the bathroom, the drink had arrived. Axel also prepares to change his clothes to make them more relaxed. He also set the table near the bedroom window, so that he could see the beautiful view.

Charlotte finally came out, how shocked she was to see Axel sitting looking out the window holding a cup. She seemed to see another side of Axel that she had never seen from the beginning of their marriage. Charlotte also tried to find out what her husband was doing.

"W-what are you doing?"

Axel turned to Charlotte and gave a smile to his wife. "Have you finished showering?" Axel started to stand up and approached his wife.

Charlotte, who yesterday tried to be aggressive towards Axel, suddenly became afraid of her husband. Her mind kept wondering, what was her husband doing right now?

"Sit with me, we enjoy this evening drinking together," said Axel, giving his wife a cup filled with a drink.

"W-what happened to you? Did you hit your head?"

Charlotte is getting scared with the behavior of her husband, she was like seeing someone different.

"Banging my head? What do you mean? Just stay with me, just tonight." Axel looked condescending this time, and acted like a couple. He even spoke in a very soft tone.

Even though Axel's attitude is very different, it makes Charlotte worry about her safety. But in the end obeyed what the husband said hesitantly. She hopes this is something that will make her happy. Charlotte also tried to be relaxed as usual. She didn't want Axel to read the fear so that her husband wouldn't intimidate the situation.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Charlotte asked again.

"Of course, why aren't you sure?" replied Axel giving a very gentle smile to his wife.

"I am just asking." Charlotte also turned her gaze out of the window. See the night view of the nearby cities from the palace. She just realized that the view from her room was so beautiful.
