A Miraculous Occurrence

It all began when I fell asleep that night. It was around ten o'clock and I had just completed a paper for my English college course that was due the next week. On that night I fell asleep, I had the strangest dream. There was a brown-skinned elven woman running closer to me in the distance as the sun drowned out my imaginative and prescient as she shouted, "Get out of there!"

What did it all mean? It was all too vivid to be simply a dream, then something extraordinary happened. I'm positive I'm conscious now. What could this be?In a field of lush flowers, he had subsequently woken up."Where am I?" He asked himself sitting up slowly, brain feeling fuzzy sort of, however the feeling went away. He looked up at the sky to see it was overcast, but about noon.

"I think I heard footsteps over there!" Said a man coming from a distance.

"I'll just lay here." He simply laid back down in the plants as if existence meant nothing to him. The cool breeze made the flowers dance around his body, although he could sense something was clearly off. A well-dressed soldier found them.

"Over here! I located her!" He looked up at the soldier.

"Huh?" With a dazed appear upon their face.

"Aren't I glad I found you. We would have been goners for sure. That other fellow doesn't appear to be here anymore..."

"You recognize me?" A voice he did not recognize came from his very mouth.

"Of course. You're the princess. Did you hit your head?"

"Princess? And no, I don't think so? I'm a man, aren't I?" The soldier laughed.

"No. You're not."The other soldiers showed up. "Oh you're okay! That's great. Well, let's get you back to the capitol immediately."

"By chance... What's my name?"

"Huh? Maybe you did bump your head... Your name is Syndel Ianbellis. You should know this. Well, let's get going."

"I suppose you're right..." Syndel continues to appear concerned.

"Can you stand, miss? I can aid you if needed." A soldier said.

"I can get up on my own, thanks for offering." She replied. She tried standing, however she fell again down.

"Princess! Let us help you."

The soldier then helped her up and got her on the carriage returned to the capitol. Syndel overheard a conversation between two soldiers.

"You should've seen this man we took into custody. He looked like the Children of the Sun."

"Children of the sun? I wonder who that could be." Syndel concept to herself.

After an hour, they arrived into town and made their way back to the capitol.

"Princess, my apologies for the lengthy ride, we would have gotten you back sooner."

"It's cool. No need to worry about trivial matters." She said, brushing it off carelessly.

This threw the soldier off.

"Here we are." The soldier said. Syndel hopped out of the carriage with no help needed. Peasants surrounded the guards as they stood between her and the capitol. She went up the stairs and didn't turn back.

"Okay, so one of two possibilities... That's my body and I want to get it back. Or two, I've taken that elven girl's life completely, and she's taken over mine.Whatever may it be, I want to see this individual in custody..."

Syndel walked around the capitol for a while until she found what she assumed was her room. Then she saw an adventurer plaque with a very odd language on it. But there were portraits of Syndel present.

"This is my room... Let's get out of these clothes."

She looked through her cloth wardrobe and couldn't find anything appropriate to her taste to put on. She shimmied out of the black gown she'd been wearing, it was tattered from the explosion. Then, she noticed a minor bruise on her stomach reaching to her side that felt tender to the touch.

"Well, how did you get there?" She flinched touching it. She dug through her wardrobe for garments to put on, then she stumbled upon some things that reminded her of her own world. Syndel decided to put on a black pencil skirt with a white blouse. Furthermore, she wore heels and jewels around her neck. In addition, she paused, feeling a minor headache coming on. She continued on into the hallway.

"Alright... Assuming there's a king or queen, I should find them." She stated exiting the room, looking around walking.

"Oh! There you are, Princess." A deep commanding voice said coming from down the hallway. Syndel looked down the hallway as the man approached her.

"Come with me. You have work to do." He said."Huh? Who are you again?" She said.

"I'm Adrenis, your advisor. You certainly don't pay attention... Well, come along." He said.

She just observed him.

"First, you need to speak to the town. As being the inheritor to the throne, there are going to be more responsibilities as time passes."

"Do I have to?"

"Of course you do."

They walked out to the balcony where the townspeople stood at the bottom looking ahead to her address. She stood there lost at first because she didn't know what to say exactly. At first, she felt sort of anxious speaking in front of so many people, however she took a deep breath then it hit her...

"To the people of this town, I hope your days are well. As the heir to the throne, I don't desire to make empty guarantees that I can do this and that, but I do want to assure this. I'll do my job and all that I can for you. I want to make sure each and every last one of you are getting the utmost care while residing here." She concluded finally.

"Lies!" One of the townsfolk said. Syndel looked down at him, trying to decide what's the best thing to say or do without coming off as mean spirited.

"Are you calling me, Syndel Ianbellis a liar? I've been many things in my short while living, but I've in no way been a liar, I tell you what."

He stood in shock when he was acknowledged. Syndel took off the ruby necklace she was wearing and threw it straight to the man.

"Syndel, no!" Adrenis said, making an attempt to stop her. The man caught the necklace and was in shock.

"Trade it for cash or anything you choose. I'm no liar, and I'm staying true to my word. Farewell all." She stated as she walked back into the capitol. A loud roaring cheer came from beneath as the people were very joyous with her message.

"You shouldn't have done that." Adrenis stated with a serious face.

"I don't care." She answered as she kept walking. Adrenis seemed conflicted with what she'd done. Syndel got back to her room and sat at the desk close to the window.

"I want to figure some thing out, and fast. I hope it's actually me that's locked up. I want to ask Adrenis about it, but then again... With the way I dealt with that speech, he may also be suspicious of me already. But no worries, I'll see what it's like being a princess and adjust accordingly as I go. It seems to be around five o'clock in the evening if I was at home. I don't know how long their days are, or if it's like my home at least. I'll see if they additionally have a library with books about this place. Guess I'll just continue searching through her stuff." She fell asleep after rummaging through the belongings. Syndel woke up about seven hours later, she looked out the window and noticed two moons.

"How strange, this world has two..." She stated as she rolled over and out of the bed. She seen a door inside the room. Likewise, she opened it, it was a bathroom.

"So they do have modern plumbing with a sewer system. Cool."

"Dammit, you chose the wrong time to be going through this..." She thought, cleaning herself up. Syndel put on a night gown and proceeded to explore the capitol.

"Oh, Lady Ianbellis!" Adrenis spoke loudly from a distance."Yes? What is it?" She said nonchalantly."What're you doing at the time of night like this?" He asked.

"Ah, I just woke up and felt like strolling around a bit. Care to join me?"

"It would be my pleasure." He said."So, tell me about the king." She said curiously.

"Your father, you mean?" He stated in a confused tone.

"I wasn't going to tell anyone, but I sort of hit my head earlier and forgot a lot of things." She said laughing.

"Oh, so that's why you have been acting so strangely! Why didn't you simply say so?"

"So about the king?" She asked."Well King Ianbellis is your father, you're currently the next inheritor to the throne."

"Okay. So, can you show me to the library?"

"What's a library?"

"It's the place books and different documents are."

"Oh! The report room. Right this way." He said as he led her to the room.

They got to the room and Syndel noted its location in her mind.

"Okay, so what about the dining room?"

"Right this way."He led her downstairs to the west chamber, the place the dining room was. "Now, what about my father's room?"

"Oh, I'm not allowed to disclose the location of the King's grasp bedroom. Only his royal guards are aware of it." He said.

"Well, it truly is a bummer... How about the holding cells or the dungeon?" She asked curiously.

"I do not know what this bummer you speak of is, however the holding cells are in the Central region of the castle. The dungeon on the other hand is underneath us." He stated as he pointed to the ground.

"Okay... I'd like to stop by the holding cells tomorrow afternoon, if that's okay with you. I should really get back to my room, all this walking's got me tired." She said as she yawned.

"Very well. I'll show you the way back."

"Well, I'll be on my way. Farewell Lady Ianbellis." He said as he walked off."I'm going to have to watch him... I see that already. I can tell he was being very suspicious of me. But whatever, I'll continue in the morning. But before I do, I'll head back to the report room."

She made it to the room and began looking through the documents, she discovered a layout of the kingdom, the castle, and the country. She also discovered some transcripts of the Kingdom speaking with different nations. Apparently, there is an elven kingdom that's been making an attempt to discuss an alliance with this kingdom. Syndel located many more documents and books, she wasted no time in hoisting all of these books back to her room. She examined and persisted on until she fell asleep. While she slept, she could experience something happening inner her body. Throughout the night, Syndel tossed and turned as a stabbing pain slowly started to set in and it was finally happening.
