1 Chapter 1- Elina Namasaga

Elina was a proud girl. She was always striving for the top, and never gave up. With her vibrant emerald green eyes, and golden yellow hair, she often caught the attention of men.

All this pride ended up her downfall. "What?" She yelled, glaring at her mother. "I'm marrying this ugly bastard?"

"Yes you are. And you will not argue."

"But he's nasty!"

"That doesn't matter."

"I'm going to my room. Don't try to talk to me." Hurt by her mother's seeming betrayal, she ran off. Hiding in her room, she got an idea. "Can't make me marry someone if you can't find me."

Elina changed out of her clothes, putting on something more reasonable, and began packing. She packed all the money she had, as well as every one of the jewels and expensive trinkets she could find in the room. She also grabbed more pants, and a couple shirts. The one thing that was worth something that she decided to keep was the ring her friend had given her seven years ago.

Once she finished packing, she rang the bell for her favorite servant, Kitarye. "Yes Mistress?" She said, giving Elina a deep courtesy.

"Help me sneak down to the kitchens."

"My Lady, what are you planning?"

"To leave and never come back."

"I will miss you, my friend." The servant smiled sadly.

"And I you. I'm sorry I have to leave Kita."

"As am I. Let's get you down there. First, carry these bags like you're taking them somewhere important. Actually... Set those down a moment." Kitarye began doing Elina's makeup, making the other appear dirty, even a bit bruised. "There! Now no one will recognise you. Let's get going. I'll guide you, just follow my lead."

Elina nodded, and the two left. After getting a lot of food, Elina said her goodbyes, and left the two of them.
