1 The Beginning

It was the year 2187 when an expedition led by a group of scientists found an ancient tomb. But, unlike its term, what contained inside is far from being ancient. In fact, it can be said that it is far exceeding their current technology. The head scientist had then decided that they will build a headquarter near the area and do a research on the technologies that are residing in the tomb.

The year 2217, a full thirty years since the discovery of the ancient tombs. With the scientists, full attention, they managed to re-create one of the technologies that were inside the tomb. A spatial storage. But, even then, the amount of item they can store inside the spatial storage they created are only a miniscule compared to the original that they have found.

Thus, they began to search for methods to increase the size of the storage. Another ten years has passed and they only managed to increase the size into half of the original's size. Even then, they can already put a lot of things inside the storage. Currently, the total size of the spatial storage they created is equal to 30,000 cubic meters.

Their next step is to implement the spatial storage they created into a medium of some sort. The spatial storage they found is in the form of a ring, thus that is the first thing they tried. For five years, they didn't manage to get a good result. The rings they used keep on breaking. At first, they thought it was the materials used for the ring, but when they studied the composition of the original ring, they found out that it was made from normal metal; silver, to be more specific. Another year gone by, then another… until finally, one of the scientists decided to try implementing it into something that is bigger than a ring, a bracelet.

They had almost succeeded when the bracelet broke into pieces at the last minute. It was then that they found out that the bigger the item, the easier it will be to implement the spatial storage. They had decided to go slightly old school, asking a smith to make them a gauntlet just like the ancient knights. And thus, their very first own Spatial Storage was in a form of a gauntlet.

While they were joyously celebrating their success, another smaller group of scientists who were put in charge of exploring the tomb had found a secret passage. At the end of the passage is a smaller room. The temperature of the room was way colder than the other area. In fact, they could feel the chill just as soon as they opened the secret passage. The chillness quickly spread throughout the area, alerting the scientists nearby.

Within the room, there were two stone coffins placed side by side. Clearly these are the owner of the tombs. Considering the technology that was found in the tomb, the scientists were thinking that maybe there are even more valuable things within the coffins.

Despite the chilling cold, the scientists heart was warm with excitement. They opened one of the coffins, and was shocked to see that the corpse inside, which is of a young man in his twenties, had not decayed. There wasn't even a hint of the corpse decomposing itself. It was as if it was preserved. In its own way, the state of the corpse filled the scientists heart with admiration. Then, they noticed that the clothes that the corpse wore; traditional Japanese clothes.

But what caught their eyes were two items. The Haori that the corpse wore. It was light blue in colour, the colour of the sky… with a jagged mountain design. The second is the sword that was laid by its side. Apparently, one of the scientists, who is the leader of the group, is also a history scholar and he immediately know who the corpse is based on the haori and the sword alone. But at the same time, he couldn't believe it. History had never mentioned about the man possessing these kinds of technology.

He ordered the other not to disturb the corpse, not wanting to take a risk. Despite this being an ancient tomb, the corpse looks as if he is merely sleeping. As he was musing around, the others had already decided to open the other coffin. Inside, is another corpse of a young man. But unlike the other, he wore a clothing that were normal to see in their current time. They inspected the corpse, seeing a ring fitting the male's ring finger perfectly.

They assumed it is another spatial storage. The next thing they noticed was a cylindrical item beside the corpse. One of the scientists took it in his hand and started to fiddle with it. They had thought that it was another lost technology, so they tried their best to try and find out what it does.

Few hours of fiddling and it turns out that the cylindrical item was some normal flasks which you only have to screw the top open. They had never felt this stupid before. Inside the flask, were a single pill and few pieces of papers bounded together. And on the very first page of those papers, lays words that shook the very core of the scientists. Formula of the All Curing Pill.

"Well, shit, man… All curing pill, huh? Does that mean it can cure all sort of diseases?" one of the scientists finally spoke up. In his heart, he had already decided that once they got out of this room, he will steal the formula and desert the group. With that formula, he can live rich! But, before that, he wants the spatial storage ring that is with the corpse. If a simple flask contains a formula for a pill which will shook the world, who knows what else is inside the ring.

When everyone else's attention is with the formula, he sneakily tried to take the ring off the corpse. But as soon as his finger touched the corpse, his hand was suddenly covered in ice, making him flinched backwards. But the ice did not stop there, in continue to spread, making him scream out in fear.

"Gah!! Help! Save me!!" he yelled out and in an attempt to get his fellow group to help him, he touched one of them. Like a plague, ice started to spread on the other scientists too. This triggers an alarm within the other scientists mind. They know of the danger of being touched by the two scientists and began to back away from them.

The rate of the ice spreading were very quick and by the time the scientists were ten steps away, they were already frozen in place with an unbelieving eyes. But, the other scientists fear did not stop there, for a moment after the two had fully covered in ice, they shattered into million pieces, leaving no corpse intact.

The rest of the scientist had never felt this fear before, and were glad they did not share the same fate as the two who died before them. Not wanting to stay in the danger zone, the group exits the room and sealed the area, forbidding anyone from entering the room unless they wanted to suffer the same fate as the two before.

Once the group is back inside the headquarter, they were greeted by a cheery atmosphere in contrasts of their fearful expression. Then they were informed that the spatial storage experiment was a success. That news alone is enough to lift their mood slightly. Then they reported their findings, as well as the death of two of their own. The head scientists, who was the first to lead the expedition asks for the pill and the formula.

He stared at the pill, then at the formula before he began to flip the first page. If only the group had done this before, then they might have avoided casualty. The second page, was a letter written addressed to them. The head scientists began to read them out loud for everyone in the room to hear.

"To the one who found our resting place,

Good morning, afternoon, or evening… whichever it is, to you or all of you. I assumed you have the luck of finding this place, the Gods must be on your side. Within this papers, are the formula for the All Curing Pill. This pill, can cure diseases, even the so called incurable disease is no match for this pill. External wound can be healed, as long as the person is still living while consuming the pill. I know, it must have sound farfetched for you, and that is why I left you with a single pill to try it out. But a word of warning, even the All Curing Pill cannot reverse death nor will it let you live forever. Life and Death cannot be broken. Everything is a cycle. Everything is promised at the moment you are born. And once the promised time is up, you will die and a new life will began anew somewhere in your stead.

Enough of this talk, you must be curious about this pill, and the formula. I will assure you, the formula is genuine. I made sure that no one is to copy or temper with this letter. So even if someone else were to find our resting place, and try to copy while tempering with the formula, they can't. The least they can do is only copy the formula only. You can try if you want, I doubt you can temper with this letter at all. With that said, I just have to ask, you did not try to disturb our bodies, right? If you have the conscience not to disturb someone who is resting, I am very happy for you. But then, if you did disturb our body, you wouldn't be able to read this letter. So you must be someone with good conscience. Because you see, I had decided to place a trap. The moment you touched our body, the trap will activate and you will be covered in ice, before the ice shatters in million pieces. Scary, isn't it? But luckily, you're reading this letter, so there is no way that will happen to you. That is, unless you did not believe in this letter and decided to disturb us. That will be a shame.

Ah, yes. You must be wondering why I did not mention about my companion's sword. If you had tried to take it out, you might have your answer already. But if you haven't, I'll just tell you to satiate your curiosity. After all, for you to find our resting place, you must be a curious person. The sword, cannot be wielded, by anyone but my companion and I. No one other than us can lift it. Of course, even if you try to get a machine to lift it, you will end up getting a heap of junks instead, so heed my next advice, alright?

You have already gotten your hand in the All Curing Pill Formula. And I also assumed you have gotten your hand on the small spatial ring I left out on the pedestal at the entrance of our resting place. With those two, it is already enough. Now leave this place unless you want to die. You have exactly 168 hours to leave from the moment you picked up the flask. That should be enough time for you to back up everything and move away from here. This place, and an area of fifty kilometers' radius will disappear, leaving nothing. If you are curious, you are free to stay. But I must warn you, If you really decided to stay and don't want to leave, you will not be able to study the formula.

The choice is in your hand. Will you stay and find out what will happen to this place in 168 hours? Or will you leave, and study the formula somewhere else? I am really curious of your choices. I really do hope you will choose the latter. After all, this pill can save a lot of lives if you can just re-create it.

Maybe one day, we will see each other. Or maybe, I will be seeing your descendant. Who knows what will happen. The future is boundless. The possibility are endless. Remember, you only have 168 hours from the moment you picked the flask to get out of here.

Sincerely,

Saki."

The moment the head scientist finished reading the letter, all the faces of everyone present turned pale. The area 50km radius from the tomb is a danger zone, and their headquarter is within the range. They only have a week to evacuate. They did not waste any more time and started the process of evacuation immediately. By the sixth day, the headquarter are already deserted and by the seventh, the area within 50km radius of the tomb disappeared from the face of earth.
