Vladimir perishing

Vladimir jumped in his left direction as he genuinely needed to switch his route of escape.

Unfortunately, the beast wasn't going to allow his prey to run away after this long pursuit and miss an opportunity to deepen his strength.

Simultaneously, and at the same moment that the young man demonstrated signs of swinging around his route. The Fosnako snake-like tail stretched out from behind him as it straightly targeted his head in an attempt to finish him off.

Yet, this scenario already occurred a few times on the long chase and Vladimir already anticipated such a response from the unwavering spirit of the beast that didn't stop hunting him for the past minutes.

Despite his crippled cultivation and mortal body, he was a well-known cultivator that was about to step into the field of the strong if things didn't go astray.

Hence, his fighting instincts were still there and he didn't lack the speed to keep up with the beast's movement since it was really immature in its attacks. Or else, he would have long died after the first few attacks.

He immediately did a back flip, and upon contact with the ground, he sped in the beast's direction while lowering his upper body.

" Got you. A beast is but a beast at the end of the day, you can never keep up with human intelligence and combat experience."

Vladimir snorted in disdain as he was already boldly sprinting under the Fosnako, attempting to break through the soon-to-be encirclement that he would be put in.

Bam!

Crack!

Aghh!

Vladimir's figure flew tens of meters in the air, only stopping a few meters away from the edge of the cliff. Blood streamed out of his mouth like a miniature fountain as he struggled to place his arms around his chest.

A crackling sound was clearly heard after the beast's second tail caught him off guard, cleanly crashing into his chest as it threw him meters in front of him.

" Ahh, I didn't expect it to react that fast to my sudden movements. Is this how things will end for me? "

He tried getting up and start dragging his legs again to run away, but the best he could do was stand up, almost tumbling while he was at it. His legs constantly trembling as they threatened to break apart and crush into the ground at any given moment.

He couldn't be bothered by the blood that was pouring out of him. He moved his head to face the sky as he muttered a few words.

" I really wanted to try and get revenge father. I'm sorry for not meeting your expectations and dying before even regaining my cultivation, but things are really not in my hands."

His voice could barely be heard since he was speaking under his breath, obviously unable to muster any strength to raise it any further than that, but his eyes still kept exhibiting a fighting spirit despite his word's that were full of losing hope and giving up on life.

Crack! Crack!

His legs were cracking with each step that he took, but Vladimir didn't care anymore about such trivial matters. The pain wasn't a sensation that could disturb his feelings and mind at this moment, and he couldn't care less about it, even if his legs broke apart.

" Even if I'm going to lose my life and leave this world, I won't let a beast feast on my dead body."

He pushed up every bit of strength that he had left inside of his body and sped to the edge of the cliff, his legs making crackling sounds as they could be seen collapsing.

Blood gushed out of them with each bone that broke and muscle that got severed from its rightful place.

The beast didn't just stand there and watch this happen, as he directly leaped forward, his claws shined with a metallic luster as they were prepared to penetrate the human's frail body and lock him into his place.

As the claws that spanned a meter in length closed in on Vladimir, he did as well jump forward.

Boom!

The ground that got hit by the beast's paws and frightening claws got whacked into small bits of rocks as the cliff heavily shook from the sudden truck-like smash.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

The edge of the cliff started giving birth to several cracks that instantly spread like a spider's net. Soon, the cliff turned into pieces of rocks that varied between big and small in size as they all started falling down.

The beast's life-and-death instincts kicked in as he instantly pushed back his legs to get out of the dire situation that was caused solely by him.

Vladimir on the other hand was powerless to move a muscle after that jump he just executed and got effortlessly escorted by the falling rocks.

His body was quickly falling as he soon penetrated the trees that were under the cliff and his figure was lost out of sight. His survival could be easily deduced as nigh impossible if anyone saw his body's miserable state and the current situation he was facing.

' I'm sorry my dear clan, but it really was out of my capabilities to change my fate.'

Those were the last thoughts that Vladimir had before his body got swallowed by the dense green trees below the cliff. A tear escaped his eye, probably caused by his inability to get take revenge on the people that massacred his whole clan in cold blood.

*********

A foul wind invaded a Town that was deadly silent in the middle of the night.

If someone took a closer look at any of the buildings that existed in the Town that was called Storm Wind, they would immediately notice that not a single soul was alive in this piece of land that once accumulated thousands of people.

It wouldn't be an any better fit as a name for this place than Ghost Town to now be its name.

A man with tattered leather armor could be seen hanging by the neck by a dark silhouette, his grip slowly tightening as anyone would think that he was attempting to kill the man.

" Such a beautiful expression, I couldn't ask for more than this kind of reaction from ants like yourselves. Do you know? the last person that managed to kick me is still held captive in my castle tortured every day! "

The dark figure was unmistakably Abaddon as a devilish smile that had a sense of satisfaction adorned his face behind his black physique.

His eyes were locked on the man his face was fully soaking in blood, a frightened and hideous expression was displayed on his face as he just witnessed everyone around him turn into dust a few minutes ago.

Tears flooded out of his eyes as he didn't know what evil deeds did he commit in his past life to deserve such fate, and why would he still be left alive despite everyone else dying.

I'll do my best to upload a chapter or two everyday from now on. I'll be glad if you guys give me your thoughts on the novel so far, any questions will as well be answered in the comments down below. Enjoy the read that's to come.
