Reincarnation of the Emperor

Emperor Alexios died, in a foolish way at that. But that wasn't the end of his story, no, it only marked the beginning after the end. He was reborn in the world of Desira, where the superpowered, magic and fantastical run rampant. Where people don't dream. But… If that were truly the case, why does he dream so often?

Leaving Kaldonia

Six months had passed since Silas and Lakyus had taken on their secret identities in Kaldonia. They had worked hard to integrate themselves into the community, helping out the locals completing quests, and exploring dungeons.

They had made friends with the locals, and had even started to feel at home in this small town.

But as the six months drew to a close, Silas and Lakyus knew that it was time to say goodbye to their secret identities and return to their home.

The illusion that allowed them to blend in with the locals was wearing off.

Silas and Lakyus walked through the streets of Kaldonia, taking in the sights and sounds of the town they had come to love.

They knew that they would miss this place, and the people they had met here.

As they approached an orphanage, they saw the children they had grown to love playing in the yard. Silas and Lakyus smiled, feeling a sense of warmth in their hearts.

"Are you going to miss this place?" Silas asked, his voice soft.

Lakyus nodded. "I already do," she said. "But we have to go back."

Silas sighed, knowing that Lakyus was right. They couldn't stay in Kaldonia forever.

Silas and Lakyus spent the afternoon playing with the children, laughing and joking with them as they had done so many times before.

As the sun began to set, Silas and Lakyus said their goodbyes to the children and the staff of the orphanage.

They walked towards the edge of town, where they had first arrived in Kaldonia.

Silas turned to Lakyus. "It's time," he said, his voice heavy.

As they walked through the gates of Kaldonia, Silas' father suddenly appeared before them.

Silas and Lakyus were taken aback as Silas' father, Lord Gregorio, appeared before them at the gates of Kaldonia.

He stood tall and imposing, with his long blonde hair and his dark eyes fixed on Silas.

"Father!" Silas exclaimed, surprised and delighted to see him. He stepped forward and embraced his father tightly.

"I have missed you, my son," Lord Gregorio said, his voice gruff but warm. "And it seems that you have been very busy during your time away."

Silas chuckled. "Yes, we have been through a lot. It's been a great experience."

"I'm glad to hear it," Lord Gregorio said. "But it's time for you to come home now. Your mother and I have been worried sick, and she's been asking me every day when you'll be back."

Lakyus stepped forward and bowed respectfully. "Lord Gregorio, thank you for ensuring our safe return.

Lord Gregorio nodded in acknowledgment. "No, thank you, Lakyus. I'm sure this little rascal got himself in trouble a few times."

As they walked towards the carriage that would take them back to their home, Silas and Lakyus exchanged glances.

"We'll come back one day," Lakyus whispered to Silas, her voice full of conviction.

Silas smiled at her, feeling grateful to have her by his side. "Yes, we will," he said. "And we wont be in hiding!"

Lord Gregorio overheard their conversation and chuckled. "I'll hold you both to that," he said. "And next time, you can come back as yourselves, not hide in plain sight."

As they rode away from Kaldonia, Silas and Lakyus looked back one last time, taking in the sight of the city that had become their home away from home.

And as they disappeared from view, the people of Kaldonia continued with their lives, unaware the two Inheritors who left no dungeon unexplored had left.

Silas had returned home, greeted joyously by his mother, she had indeed been worried sick about him, and enveloped him in a tight embrace the moment he stepped through the gates.

Silas' mother was a woman of great warmth and kindness, she was tall with striking green eyes and a gentle smile that could light up a room.

"My dear boy, you have grown so much," she said, her voice filled with emotion. She cupped his face in her hands and kissed his forehead.

Silas smiled, his own eyes misting with joyful tears. "Mother, I'm back" he said. "I have much to share."

Over the next few days, Silas recounted all of his adventures in Kaldonia to his mother. She listened with rapt attention, occasionally gasping in awe or shaking her head in disbelief.

"I can hardly believe all that you've been through," she said. "You and Lakyus are so brave."

Silas smiled, feeling a sense of pride wash over him. He knew that his mother had always been supportive of his adventures, even if she worried about his safety.

"But I'm glad you're home," she added. "I missed you so much."

Silas hugged his mother tightly. "I missed you too, Mother. But there's something important I need to tell you."

"What is it, my dear?" Eleanor asked, concern etched on her face.

"I'm sure Lakyus will fill you and father in on everything that happened in Kaldonia. But there's something she's going to tell you, something surprising," Silas said, his tone serious.

Eleanor's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean, Silas? Is everything alright?" she asked.

Silas nodded. "Yes, everything is fine. But Lakyus has some news that might change things for all of us."

Eleanor looked at Silas, her eyes wide with curiosity. "What kind of news? Is everything fine."

"Yes, Mother, everything is fine," Silas reassured her. "In fact, it's more than fine. I already had my first dream and unlocked an ability. I kept it a secret...because I didn't know what to do. I know how abnormal it is."

Eleanor's eyes widened in surprise. "An ability? What kind of ability?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.

'Celeste, how much should I tell her?'

<Everything, if you wish. You're lucky to have loving parents>

Silas took a deep breath, bracing himself to reveal everything to his mother. He recounted every detail of his dream, including the never-ending maze, the Crystal Isle, and the presence of Celeste.

He explained how he was able to enter the Crystal Isle after waking up, and how Celeste had become a part of him.

Silas also shared how he had used his ability during his time in Kaldonia. Despite the difficult nature of his confession, Silas felt fortunate to have loving parents to confide in.

Silas noticed the confusion and concern in his mother's eyes as he finished recounting his story. He could sense that she was struggling to understand how he had unlocked his ability at such a young age.

"Mother, I know it's hard to believe," Silas said, his voice gentle. "But I remember it clearly. I had a dream, and when I woke up, I had this ability. It's not normal, I know, but it happened."

Eleanor looked at her son, still struggling to make sense of it all. "Silas, are you sure? This is so unusual. Perhaps we should seek the advice of experts and try to understand this better," she said, her voice full of concern.

Silas shook his head, feeling a sense of hesitation about seeking the advice of outsiders. "Mother, I appreciate your concern, but I don't think we need to involve anyone else. I know that my ability is unusual, but I've learned to control it and use it for good. It's a part of who I am now," he said, his voice firm.

Eleanor looked at her son, her eyes full of concern. "But Silas, you're still so young. I worry that this ability might be too much for you to handle on your own. What if something goes wrong?"

Silas put his hand on his mother's shoulder, trying to reassure her. "I'll be careful, Mother. I promise. And I know that I can always come to you or father for help if I need it," he said, his voice full of conviction.

Eleanor smiled at her son, her eyes shining with love and pride. "I know you will, my dear. And I'll always be here to support you, no matter what."

Silas hugged his mother tightly, feeling grateful for her love and support. He knew that he was lucky to have such a loving and supportive family, and he was determined to use his abilities to make them proud.

As he hugged his mother, Silas felt a sense of peace wash over him. He knew that he had done the right thing by telling her the truth.

After a few moments, Silas and his mother broke their embrace. Silas felt a sense of calm wash over him, knowing that he had the support and love of his family.

Silas sat in his study, deep in thought. During the past six months, he had significantly improved his body. He had also learned the inner workings of an Inheritor's life, and had gained a new appreciation for the people around him.

As he looked out the window, Silas saw the sun setting over the Ward Estate, casting a warm orange glow over the buildings and gardens.

He knew that there was still much work to be done, but he also knew that he was ready for it.
