Chapter 23 the void vault

As Ray and Athena get closer to the void vault, Ray notices that the building is huge.

"Athena, this building is the void vault?" Asked Ray.

"Part of it is the void vault, see that smaller section of the building. That's the void vault. The rest of the building is your manor. We have to enter the manor to enter the vault." Said, Athena.

As they walk up the stairs Ray notices two statues of Zeus holding lighting bolts, he looks like he's throwing a javelin.

"What is this Athena? I thought the gods weren't going to interfere with me?" Asked Ray.

"Zeus isn't interfering, this manor is his gift to you."Said, Athena.

"His gift is this manor? Asked Ray.

"Not just the manor but what is built into the manor. Let's go inside and I'll show you, Ray." Said, Athena.

Ray pushes the double doors open. As Ray enters he is stunned by the grand hall.

"Is this a Greek architect?" Asked Ray.

"It is or should I say it's a scaled-down replica of Zeus's palace on Mt. Olympus. With some added features." Said, Athena.

As Ray and Athena walk into the grand hall, huge marble pillars can be seen throughout the hall. In the middle of the grand hall is a fountain. In the center of the fountain is a sculpture of a five-headed dragon fighting Zeus and Poseidon.

"Athena who or what is that dragon?" Asked Ray.

"That's Tiamat the goddess of evil dragons and the ocean. She is an ancient Mesopotamian goddess. She battled Zeus and Poseidon for a whole year for control of the oceans on Earth.

"I take it Zeus and Poseidon won that battle." Said Ray.

"No. I would say it was a draw." Said, Athena.

"What? A draw?" Asked Ray.

"Yes, they battled for a year and decided that it should end in a draw. The agreement was that Tiamat would retreat into the celestial realm, and Zeus and Poseidon would take control of the oceans. It said that Tiamat only agreed to retreat was because Hades was about to join the Battle.

"Athena is the goddess Tiamat involved with the Greek gods' plans? Asked Ray.

That's hard to answer Ray, I don't know for sure but there is at least a 50/50 chance that she is. Said, Athena.

"Well, that's very good odds that she is involved with the Greek gods. But no matter I won't allow them to interfere with my ambitions and clan." Said Ray.

Athena nods her head. Ray continues to look around the hall. There's furniture and statutes lined up against the walls of the hall. The furthest side of the hall has a stair staircase that leads to a balcony that leads to another set of doors. The left side has a doorway and the right side has a doorway that leads to the void vault. Athena leads Ray to the void vault door. The door doesn't look like a vault door but more like a teleportation gate door.

"Is this a teleportation gate?" Asked Ray.

"Yes, a gateway to the void vault." Said, Athena.

Ray nods his head.

"Your self and I are the only ones that can enter the void vault." Said, Athena.

"What happens if someone else tries to enter the void vault?" Asked Ray.

"They get automatically teleported out of the void realm and into the prison cells in the village." Said, Athena.

"That's a great defensive measure, make sure that our clan members know not to enter the void vault." Said Ray.

"Yes, Ray," Said Athena.

Ray and Athena stepped into the void vault gate. It went dark for an instant then a light appeared in front of them, as the light enveloped them a huge space appeared. The void vault.

"This place is enormous and empty." Said Ray.

"Well, you haven't stored anything in here yet." Said, Athena.

"How does the void vault work?" Asked Ray.

"It is simple, you can place items in here when you enter the void vault or you can open a pocket and place your items within the void vault or take them out. To open a pocket all you have to do is imagine the pocket and open it with your hand." Said, Athena.

Ray recreates the potions and places them in the void vault. He has Athena place all of the seed pouches in the void vault. As the potions and pouches touch the void floor shelves appear. The potions are placed neatly on the shelves and labeled as a potion of lesser healing. The seed pouches are placed on shelves and labeled as warrior seed pouch, scout/hunter seed pouch, shaman seed pouch, and brewmaster pouch.

Ray opens a pocket and pulls out a potion of lesser healing. "The void vault is an amazing place. It's time we get going I need to train and get stronger."Said Ray.

"Ray before we leave the manor, I want to show you one more thing." Said, Athena.

"Ok, Athena." Said Ray.

Ray and Athena head back through the gate. Back in the manor, Athena leads Ray to the stairs that lead to the balcony. They head up the staircase and enter the door above the stairs. They enter a large room, the floors of the room are made of glass and in the center of the room is a single throne-like chair.

Athena points at the chair.

"Have a seat, Ray." Said, Athena.

"Ok." Said Ray.

Ray sits in the chair. As soon as Ray sits in the chair the glass floor begins to light up, and moments later the image of the world appears on the glass floor.

"What is this?" Asked Ray.

"This is the viewing room. You are looking at Azeroc." Said, Athena.

"That's the planet of Azeroc?" Asked Ray.

"Yes, that's Azeroc. Concentrate on our village Ray." Said, Athena.

Ray thinks of the village. The view of the planet changes, it gets larger on the glass floor and zooms onto the village.

"As long you are sitting in that chair you can view any location of this world. You can view into caves, houses, castles, dungeons, under the ocean, you name it ray and you can view it here in this room." Said, Athena.

"This viewing room will make exploring a lot easier. Athena am I the only one that can use this viewing room?" Asked Ray.

"No any of your subordinates can use it as long as you have given them permission, I could use this viewing room if permitted by you Ray." Said, Athena.

"Very good Athena I permit you to use the viewing room. You will be my eyes from here. Are you able to leave the void realm, Athena?" Asked Ray.

"Thank you, Ray! I can not leave the void realm Ray. I can only take a form here in the void realm. I'll always be able to talk to you Ray, no matter where you may be." Said, Athena.

"Excellent! Athena, from this day forward you will be responsible for viewing the planet and informing me of any situation that occurs around the world. You will be my eyes when I head out on campaigns and explorations, you will ensure that we have seed pouches available for all my future subordinates and perform your existing duties." Said Ray.
