The Universe’s Gift
After getting his rewards as the aftermath of his completed daily quest he begun walking towards his dormitory. He caught a sight of Troy. Troy also noticed his glare as he turned to look at him dead in the eyes. This look from an Adept level awakened would make a mere beginner level awakened scared out of their mind. But Asdek didn't flinch in the slightest. He also looked at him dead in his eyes. During their staring contest that had lasted more than a minute, Troy still had that mocking smile on his face. This made Asdek's blood boil furiously. Well one could say Asdek was a very vengeful and petty person. He would never sit and let someone just look down on him.
Just then he heard the ding of the system in his ears.

But users mental fortitude should be able to hold the strain since the stronger a person is the stronger their innate defense.]

Asdek was now dumbfounded by the huge wall of text that had accompanied the ding of the system. After he finished reading the text he was now even more flabbergasted.
"The universe gifted me with a skill. Is that even possible?" He asked and as he continued to the latter part of the message he hurriedly chose 'No' He didn't know what side effect this seeing through the eyes of someone will have on him or the person in question.
" I've never heard of anything like this." Asdek said to himself.
Just then the system popped up in front of him with a new set of words. This time it wasn't the type of news he wanted to hear. The system had popped up with insults mixed with answers as usual.
[Host should really begin to use the intelligence stats he has accumulated over the past 16 years. You have forgotten about the passive skill that came with your title; Champion of fate?]
Asdek now realized he had gotten a passive skill called fated. This skill was supposedly to make him prone to unprecedented phenomena. Be it an advantageous or disadvantageous he was just going to almost always be in these events which will bring him opportunities and great rewards or might even kill him if he doesn't take care. This skill seemed pretty vague and hard to understand so over the years it had slipped his mind.
" The skill is supposed to be this broken?" He asked himself.

Troy looking at Asdek's figure which had just changed in demeanor mistook his staring into space look as a look of astonishment and his progressively surprised face solidified his misconceptions. He thought Asdek only now realized he was an adept level awakened and was afraid.

Asdek though he still had a grudge on Troy decided he wasn't going to continue with this childish act of his. The strength difference between a beginner level and an Adept level wasn't as vast as heaven and earth, there was absolutely no way a beginner level can defeat an Adept level awakened. To some extent, Asdek can be considered as strong as a Novice level awakened using both his skills but he still cannot go against an Adept level awakened.
It would be a drawn out battle but his energy pool just wouldn't allow a battle of attrition and his energy would run out in the first 10 minutes. All the more reason why he had to breakthrough.
Asdek gave out a loud "humph" audible enough for Troy to hear. And he began to walk leisurely out of the perimeter of the gym. A finger sized vein could now be seen bulging out of Troy's forehead serving as a clear indication of how pissed he himself was.
Asdek was pleased with himself for getting such a reaction out of Troy.
He walked with a content smile on his face. His crimson red hair was seen soaked in sweat. His hair was loosely flowing in the wind as he was walking around campus and heading for the dorms.
He got to his dorm room and slid his green key card into the slit at the side unlocking it for him. When he opened the all three of his roommates were staring at him. Jordan was sitting in the middle of this group as he vehemently tried to avert his gaze.
"Yo Asdek, Jordan here told us you cried in class today" Logan said in a curious voice.
Asdek totally ignored this question and looked right at the gossip who was trying desperately to avert his gaze and asked.
"Jordan, ain't you supposed to be at the library. It's only just been a little over three hours.
Jordan's body visibly shook when Asdek mentioned his name and began to answer.
"Well …. eermm… I went there to get more information about the beast I unlocked when I broke through to the novice level ." Jordan said in a low voice.
Asdek hearing that, had a distorted look on his face.
" I'm really getting left in the dust" it wasn't like Asdek was jealous of him or anything but his innate competitive side had been tucked at. He was not planning on staying in the beginner level. He went off to freshen up a little.
After which he came out of the wash room all freshened up. He went straight for his bed and sat in the lotus position. After some time his consciousness drifted into the blood sea in his soul. He had a determined look on his face as he said to himself,
" No matter what I will breakthrough before tomorrow" as he begun to absorb blood essence into his body. With his heart full of determination the giant tablet in front of him begun to turn tangible far more faster than normal. But Asdek's eyes were closed and as such was oblivious to the happenings around him and his surroundings.
