Annihilated Village

After Professor Heathun finished his lesson he took the class to a sparring arena.

As they entered a room that the Professor guided them to, their body emanated a blue aura as they entered it and some felt their magic power and mana being suppressed.

They also noticed that the room was huge it was bigger than what it looked like on the outside.

"Hm?"

Ray felt as if he's mana and power was being taken away from him.

While others felt as if their mana and magic power had been strengthened.

Then Ray asked the Professor.

"Sir, if I'm right does this room have a mana control system? And did the academy purposely cast "Realm" on this room?"

"Oh, Yes it is to make the sparring fair to everyone and so everyone can rely on their battle instincts and yes the academy did cast realm on the room to make it bigger."

"So can anyone volunteer to fight and if you want you can pick your opponent as well."

Then immediately after the Professor finished speaking someone raised their hand.

"Huh?"

Then after the person rose their hand they then started to introduce themselves.

"My name is Noe Guldther."

Everyone including the professor was baffled by him as he wielded a sword.

Then almost all the student crowded to ask him questions.

"Are you perhaps a magic swordsman?"

"I thought the Guldther family was a knight family?"

Another student asked and everyone waited for his answer.

"Unfortunately no, instead I use a technique from my clan that mimics a magic swordsman."

"And yes we are a knight family but occasionally a mage is born in the family thus I am here."

'A technique that could mimic a magic swordsman? I've never heard of anything like that.'

"There's no way any technique could mimic a magic swordsman!"

A student from the crowd shouted.

*sigh*

"Anyway the person I would like to duel is..."

"Ray Grandfell!"

As everyone heard this they then averted their eyes to Ray waiting for his answer.

"He's really arrogant."

"I accept."

Ray calmly answered.

As the other students heard this they were looking forwards to their fight.

"Now since we have two students ready, I guess it's time to start."

The Professor snapped his fingers.

Suddenly a glass Dome appeared in the middle of the sparring area, and both Ray and Noe were teleported to it and the students gathered around it.

The air inside the dome felt heavy for both Ray and Now causing them to have a hard time breathing.

"As both of you may have noticed the air inside the dome is dense thus making it so both of you have a limited time to defeat the other."

"You may start..."

Both of them readied their strongest spell planning to take out the other in an instant.

Dense mana emanated from both of them as it even reached outside the dome.

"Now!"

Then in an instant the dome was instantly covered in dust.

The other students were eager to know who won.

And as the dust slowly dissipated the other students could clearly see that both of them were still standing.

Yet they knew that Ray had undoubtedly won.

As the dust completely disappeared even though the clash of both their spells before had immense power Ray was unscathed meanwhile Noe stood there unconscious.

"Next." Ray said with a slight grin.

The Professor was had no words for what he witnessed as he knew that Noe was an excellent student.

Meanwhile the crowd of students cheered as Ray won effortlessly.

"Tsk!"

Then another student challenged Ray.

"Sir Heathun, may I enter the dome next?"

"S-sure"

The professor then teleported the student to the dome.

"My name is Pran, I'm a commoner but don't you dare underestimate me."

"You may start Now!"

"I'll let you make the first move." Ray stated.

This time Ray let Pran use a flurry of magic on him 

"Fire Ball! Fire Lance! Water Prison!"

Pran tried several spells, yet none of them did anything to Ray.

"I guess It's my turn now?"

After hearing this Pran was frightened at first he planned to defeat Ray by not giving him a chance to counter attack but now he ran out of mana causing him to be unable to defend Ray's attack.

"Sun Arrow"

Then a scorching hot arrow appeared in front of Ray and was pointed towards Pran.

"Don't worry I won't hit you."

Then Ray fired the arrow as it instantly reached Pran but Ray purposely missed by just a centimeter.

But the shock of almost dying knocked out Pran making Ray the winner.

But at this time Ray had now almost ran out of Oxygen.

"P-professor I would like to forfeit." Ray stuttered.

And the professor snapped his fingers again and Ray was teleported outside of the dome.

*Heavy sigh*

Ray took a deep breath as he was holding his breath right after the start of his second fight.

"Ray that was spectacular!" Lucas shouted as soon as Ray got out.

"Uh Thanks?"

'Since when was he so optimistic?'

"I didn't expect Ray Grandfell to be this powerful."

Someone from the crowd whispered.

Meanwhile back on the village

"You monster!! Don't come near us!"

Almost everyone in the village was massacred.

"H-how could this happen."

The village chief cried.

"How long will it take until the knight of the Grandfell family reach this place!!"

The village chief had lost all hope.

A couple hours ago.

"Chief! Our scouts have noticed unknown figures approaching this village."

A guard hurriedly said towards the village chief.

"Those must be the knights that the Grandfell family sent to protect this place!"

The village chief was glad.

"Take some other people with you and go greet them."

Just then someone knocked on the gate of the village.

"Oh that must be them."

the guards hurriedly opened the gate expecting a righteous knights.

But after the gate was completely opened all the guards were instantly beheaded.

And the villagers around them screamed.

Panic immediately ensued in the village.

"W-what happened?!"

The village chief was frightened at the horrific sight of his people being cut down one by one, causing him to instinctively hide from them.

Back to the present

"I-i think I'm the only one left."

"Everything is clear here."

One of the unknown people said.

"The village has been cleared no signs of life left."

'Are they finally going to leave?'

The village chief was relieved as he heard them planning to leave.

But then another man entered the village as he seemed to be their leader.

"I think you missed one insect."

Then suddenly a wooden stake pirced through the village chief as blood gushed out.

"t-this is bad."

"Village clear, Now our next destination is the academy."

"Stop right there!!"

Just then the knights of the Grandfell family arrived.

"Who are you?!"

The knight captain asked.

"None of your business."

"Then I guess we have no choice but to apprehend you."

"Ha! We'd like to see you try."
