The End and Beginning

     "Shit" Henry grumbled to himself. He was currently in the middle of a battlefield.  He had been in the military most of his life. His parents and his parents' parents were all soldiers.  He had trained since he was a small child to be the very best. His current situation was not a good one.  He was completely surrounded. "Probably twelve or more of these fuckers." He used a mirror to look out from his cover. "Fuck." His mission was to stop a terrorist plot to blow up the United Nations.

    Of course he did not go into his mission alone, he had a whole team with him. When the team arrived to the incursion zone they quickly learned that their intel was off.  The number of terrorists were far greater and they were much more armed than originally thought. Knowing how crucial this mission was Henry and his team decided to breach into the enemy base despite the risk.  That is how Henry has found himself in his current situation. His entire team had been gunned down and he was the last one left. Completely outgunned and outnumbered.

    Henry looked around the room for anything that could help him.  That's when he saw it. The terrorists had a cache of ballistic missiles in the back of the room opposite to Henry.  "Well mission comes first." Henry said to himself as he prepared for what was next. Henry decided that if he was going down he would bring the whole building down with him.  He took all the pins out of his grenades and sprinted to the missiles. He was under a lot of fire the terrorists did not know what to make of it. They filled him with lead but he kept advancing.  He knew what he had to do and nothing was going to stop him. This is the moment he had trained his whole life for. This was his time to make the world a better place. Just as Henry reached the missiles his grenades went off and everything went dark. Henry had died, and he had completed his mission.  That explosion was so massive it wiped out all of the terrorist operations.

     "Wake up" Henry could hear a voice say. "Wake up" He heard the voice again louder this time. Henry struggled his body felt strange he felt much smaller and lighter.  He finally managed to open his eyes. "Whoa everyone is so big, where I am?" Henry thought the words but nothing came out of his mouth. "Oh god I wish that baby would stop crying" Henry could only hear the cries of a baby, he could not hear what the giant people in the room were saying.  As he looked around he realized something. He was the baby. "Oh right I remember." He thought. "I died. So this is what happens when you die."

      Just then he heard a voice in his head. "No hero, only those worthy are reborn." The voice was soothing and hearing it made him relax instantly. "You saved countless lives. You stopped the end of the world from happening." The voice continued.  "We need you to save this world now. I am sorry hero but there shall be no restful afterlife for you."

      Henry was concerned by what the voice had told him. He decided that he would try to communicate with it via thought. "Save the world? How am I supposed to do that? What even is this world?"

     The voice must have heard his questions because it responded. "Hero you have saved one world, we know you can save another.  As for this world, it has been under siege for countless eons. Magic is real in the world and so are demons. The demon race has been bent on wiping out the other races for as long as time has existed.  We need you to stop them."

     Henry responded quickly. "But how am I going to stop a race of demons?!"

    The voice answered. "Hero you have everything you need to succeed. Go with our blessing and save this world."

     Henry felt the voice leave him and his senses returned back to the room he was in.  He was now able to look around and he could hear what the adults were saying. The room he was in was encrusted with gold and jeweled with many precious gemstones. "Wow" he thought to himself. "I must have been born into some rich family."

     Just then he heard the adult holding him speak. "Congratulations your majesty! You have been blessed with an heir!"

     "Sweet" Henry thought to himself. "I am royalty!"

    The doctor continued. "Let us all the kingdom rejoice with the birth of our new princess!"

     "Princess?!" Henry thought. "Did he just say princess? He most have meant prince, or maybe princess means something else in this world!"

      "Hand me my baby girl" The King said to the doctor.

      "Nope doesn't mean anything different." Henry thought. "Of all the reincarnations why did I have to be a woman."

       "Such beauty, my child." The king said while holding his newborn daughter. "My kingdom will be your one day, but I wish I could give you so much more."  The King turns to the doctor. "And how is my wife the queen?"

       "She is fine my lord, tired but fine." The doctor replied easing the fears of the king.

      "My child, she needs a name!" The king proclaimed. "Her name shall be Luna and may she be the light that shines in the darkness and keeps this kingdom safe."

      "Well not a bad name, could have been worse." Luna thought.  "At least I am royalty. Would have sucked to try and save the world starting off as a peasant.  Thank mysterious voice!"

     "Let us take her to the queen." The king said. "She needs to behold what a beauty she has created."  They walk back to the chamber where the queen is resting. "My dear have you seen our wonderful child yet?"

     "No they spirited her straight to you my love." The queen replied. "May I see our child." She said as she stretched her arms out for the baby.

     "I have named her Luna, my love." The King said as he handed Luna to her mother. "I know she will bring the kingdom so much joy."

    "This is nice." Luna thought as she comfortably laid in her mother's arms. "I could get used to this." She thought as she drifted off to sleep.

     The queen looked down on her new baby and smiled. "Don't worry sweet Luna, Mommy and Daddy are here for you and we are going to make sure the demons never get you."
