3 New Beginnings, II

"He who does not have a story to tell shall cease to exist."

That's the first sentence I wrote on my notes after building up the motivation to start writing again since my long hiatus.

But that's all it was.

Just a concept.

I do have glimpses of memories where I thought of different scenarios for that novel, so I can only hope and pray that they haven't been included in this place.

In this world, Crisyes.

The name of this world was inspired by the word: Crises. Which I intended to make my mc go through.

I always made my characters suffer, so I sure as heck hope that doesn't happen to me since it seems that I've become a part of the story.

I couldn't help but facepalm at the realization that I triggered another type of event for my own self, that is to say, suffering.

I itched my butt as my father took hold of me and sat me on a baby chair.

He lit up a candle while my mother cooked a quick snack for us.

Ah, such a nice mood, I love it! I wanted to tell, but something about my parents' expressions seemed suspicious, and so were the clouds and the whole change of the sky outside.

Hey, hey, why so gloomy in such a cozy house?

Again, I wanted to scream that but couldn't since I had to keep the baby act up.

"M-Ma…" I thought it was about time I started speaking actual words and not just making noises.

"Huh?" My mother whipped her head towards me, eyes wide.

"Mama!" Ew, I said it… This is so cringe.

"Dear, Helis finally said his first word!" My mother shook my father with happiness all over her voice and actions, then took hold of me and circled around the living room.

Now, this makes me a bit glad that I went out of my way to fight the humiliation I felt.

I tried to make a cute laugh and giggle as she said something along the lines of, "Again, Helis, once more, mama," She made sure to enunciate it nicely and say it slowly so I could properly grasp it.

I kept the happy mood up, wanting to call her again, "Ahaha, mama-" And then, my eyes flashed a blue ether color.

Me, my parents, and my house, were all swallowed in it.

Was it a destructive lightning that dawned upon our house, or rather just a beam of light? I do not know, but I sure realized that it took me far away from Lyle's and Abelie's hold.

Somewhere… I wasn't sure I knew of.

***

"Kgh, what's this…?" I spoke, my former voice left my throat.

"Huh? Was that life just a dream?" I asked out loud, not sure if I was experiencing a dream, or if the life of Helis was the one to be such one.

I seemed to be in a dark-blue space or whatever, I just know that it was dark and eerie.

"Relax." I heard a mystical voice.

Oh, great! A new overpowered being who lives in another realm has appeared to bestow me with knowledge of some sort. Is the plot going like that so far?

"I am no enemy of thy, I'm here to offer something to you." A silhouette walked in front of me whom I couldn't discern its features.

I just shook my head, not surprised at how well I've gotten at guessing such events.

"I see. May I ask you what it is that you have to offer me?" I got straight to the point.

"You have two choices, Helis Roadgray," He called me by my new name, "You can choose one or the other."

He stretched out what seemed to be his right hand, "Do you seek power," he then stretched out his left hand, "Or knowledge?"

Hmm, now this sure put me in a pickle.

I don't know which I should choose.

Power seems like a really nice option, like getting a mark on my body which gives me insane mana and magic capabilities.

Whereas knowledge… I really need it. Since I'm supposedly the author of this world, I'm still lacking quite a lot to assure myself of an easy life.

Thus, the choice is obvious, "Oh powerful one, I am grateful for such an offer, but I'll pick the third option." I smirked, "I want both power and knowledge. For I seek what guarantees myself an easy life with the correct choices made."

"Quite arrogant, aren't you?" He spoke, his tone indifferent to my actions, he simply nodded, "But your words are acceptable, you are just as I've heard. Very well, I'll grant both."

Huh? That was easy.

Wait, what did he mean by, "Just as I've heard"?

"Well then, until we meet again." The glitchy silhouette waved, immediately after, my vision changed back to the body of Helis Roadgray.

***

I spoke too soon.

He did grant both, that's true, but I thought he would grant me something more OP, not just some tips on how to improve on the magic aspect of my powers, hell I don't even know if I can use it or not.

"..."

Why am I so unfazed by this occurrence? I just met a faceless, glitching entity that inserted knowledge directly into my mind, and he seemed to know of me… It's all weird, I'm just one year old too.

Oh, and about the power and knowledge part… It seems that the best option for him was giving me information on the power system and how to use mana.

If you look at it from a perspective, it does include both knowledge and power, since I now have gained the upper hand over other mages.

But still, that place, was I spiritually taken over there?

I have no clue, but I can already feel that this life isn't going to be an easy one…

I looked up to the clouds, gazing at the cyan strings of letters flowing around, "Bring it on, Crisyes, I'll develop the best story possible against this world."

"..."

Alas…

I sure made a bold declaration considering my house is blown to bits.
