"You look gorgeous, "The man gave her a hug and said, "Like always. Congratulations on clearing the bar exam."

An Xiulan's smile widened and her dimples become visible. "Thank you, classmate. You are my lucky charm."

He heaved out a sigh and went on, "We are no longer classmates now. And I should be compensated well to wake in the middle of the night to check your result." 

Nobody in her family knew that last month she flew to China to appear for the bar exam and the same night she returned to Boston. It was not that she didn't want to go home. It was just that she has too many things to handle here and if she had gone home, she would not be able to leave. 

An Xiulan offered him a rare wide smile. "Thank you so much."
