22. Cassian is Kind

After learning about the ancient magic from times past he grew more curious about the library as he read through the books while also talking with the two heiress. He decided to use this opportunity to get closer to the two of them, not to mention the fact that they are quite proud of their library as well.

"There are quite a lot of books here, some are those that I haven't seen in my life. You truly have a remarkable library." Cassian said to the two girls with a smile.

"I-It's only fair that a family of our rank should have such a high quality library." Amaria said to him with a slight blush.

"But Lord Cassian is quite a fast reader. You finished a lot of books so quickly." Leah said to him with eyes of wonder and awe.

Though it is true, he has gone through more than a dozen books in the past two hours, something which baffled Amaria as she didn't expect him to be able to read through so many books so easily. She obviously had her suspicions so she asked him some questions from the books she had read, and he had answered her correctly which stunned her.

'I thought that I was a good reader up until now but he is much better than I am. He can go through thrice the amount of books I can at the same time. He isn't like the other noble children.' Amaria thought to herself as she looked at him.

She looked at her little sister getting closer to him as she is smiling at how quickly he is able to read the book and how much knowledge he has.

'Perhaps, he isn't that bad. Still, I don't know.' Amaria thought to herself as she looked at him.

After spending time in the library, Leah got closer to him, drawn to him due to his handsome face, his mannerisms, his knowledge, his body and his ability.

She was a lovestruck girl at this point as she looked at her fiance with a bright smile on her face. She felt giddy at the fact that such a wonderful man is her fiance.

She looked at the canvas happily before she started to paint on it. She used the memory she has of Cassian as she stroked her brush over the canvas with a bright smile on her face.

'I hope Lord Cassian would like this.' Leah thought to herself with a smile on her face.

"Of course, I am curious to know what surprise my fiance has for me." Cassian said to her with a smile on his face.

"I'm happy to hear that. Please take a look at this." Leah said as she giggled and grabbed the cloth.

Then she removed the cloth as her painting is uncovered as the eyes of Cassian and Caitlin widened when they saw it. On the canvas is a beautiful painting of Cassian who has a smile on his face. The colours are applied in the right places and his face is drawn quite clearly as it is a beautiful painting.

"So, how is it? Do you like it?" Leah asked shyly as she looked at him.

"Like it? This is beautiful Leah. You only met me yesterday and you were already able to draw me like this. You are so talented." Cassian said to her with a bright smile on his face.

Leah felt her face heat up at his praise as she felt elated and her heart is starting to beat more in her chest as she blushed at hearing his praise.

"Master Cassian is right lady Leah. This is a beautiful painting." Caitlin said to her with a smile on her face with a polite tone.

"Thank you. I'm happy that my surprise was a success." Leah said with a smile on her face.

"This is really good. Can you show me how you paint?" Cassian asked her as she stood in front of her.

"Of course, I would be delighted to." Leah said with a bright smile on her face.

'I can impress him more if I do this.' Leah thought to herself with a smile on her face.

"How about you draw a painting of Caitlin this time?" Cassian asked as he gestured to his maid.

"Of course. Please stand there." Leah said as she looked at the girl.

"Of course, I'd be happy to." Caitlin said as she bowed and did as instructed.

Leah put another canvas on the tool as she started to draw with Cassian sitting beside her. Of course, this had the effect of making Leah nervous as she drew. Though she managed to draw the maid without any problems as she started to paint.

But then she made a mistake which surprised her, a result of her nervousness and the pheromones which he was emitting which caused her to make the mistake as she painted the wrong part.

Leah, as a noble knows that people with her blood were vastly superior in rank in society, due to this they are also civilized and wealthy as well. In the past she also had tutors who taught her how to paint more skillfully, and they would scold and advice her whenever she made a mistake.

"As a noblewomen, you shouldn't make such a mistake."

"You need to have more focus. You are a noble."

"The blood of the nobility flows in your veins. You are vastly superior to the common folk and so you can't make such mistakes."

Many of her tutors had said that to her, as since she is a noble, she can't make mistakes like that in her craft. As per their words, it's expected for one with noble blood to not make mistakes as it shows their worth.

Of course, this also caused her to fear that Cassian will also look at her with disappointment due to her mistake as she looked at him.

But to her surprise he just smiled at her, causing her to be surprised as she looked at him.

"It's fine Leah, we make mistakes from time to time. There's no need to look like that." Cassian said to her with a smile on his face.

"Y-You are not disappointed by my mistake?" Leah asked as she looked at him.

"Of course not. Why in the world would I be disappointed by it? You are a good painter and you just made a trivial mistake. There is no problem with it." Cassian said to her with a smile on her face.

Leah looked at him in surprise as her heart started to beat faster as her face turned more red as she looked at him.

'L-Lord Cassian isn't disappointed by my mistake. The only one who weren't disappointed were my parents and sister. He is so kind.' Leah thought to herself as she looked at him.

"Lord Cassian!" Leah cried out as she hugged him as he held her in his arms.

"Yes yes, I'm here Leah." Cassian said to her as he rubbed her head.

'Yep, it's all going good.' Cassian thought to himself as he looked at his fiance.
