Reincarnated with my Greed System

Reincarnation is a thing that our MC has read and seen for a long time. And because of that, though he was surprised he had managed to adjust to his new situation quite remarkably. Being the only son of a Baron helped as though it isn't much he is still technically a noble and his family held some land and power over it. But it soon changed when a screen appeared in front of him. [Greed System has been activated] When he heard those words he was shocked as this laid the foundation for his future actions as he would use the system to rise through the ranks of the world. A/N: This is a practice fanfiction since I wanted to give it a try. Image used for cover does not belong to me.

14. New Skills

Cassian is currently sitting in his room as he is looking at his stats after which he looked at his GP which numbered at 20500 now. He smiled when he saw the amount before he closed the status screen and walked out of the study. He passed a few maids who smiled at him, though they also had blushes on their faces when he walked past them.

It has been two weeks since he had put Maria under his control and he has used the two maids to slowly get ahold of every other maid in the mansion. Now all the maids in the mansion are his slave and have the slave marker on them. They couldn't defy him if they wanted to but they liked him too much to not obey him.

He turned a corner and hit a maid as she stumbled back in surprise before her eyes widened as she saw him as she blushed. Cassian just looked at her before he leaned forward and kissed her as she moaned out as her body shivered. He then separated from her as a thin trail of saliva connected their mouths as she blushed at him.

"Now now, go do your work." Cassian said to her with a smile.

"Yes Master." The maid said as she bowed to him before she walked away.

Cassian smiled at how complaint the maid is as he walked and went to the library and entered it as he looked around the various shelfs and went to the area from where he got the Great Spirit summoning spell. He looked at the great many books and looked at the titles as he tried to find one that he liked.

In the end he decided to take a look at a book about transmutation as he read through it. He then stopped reading as he took out the slip of the summoning spell and looked at it with a contemplative look.

'I have enough GP to get that Spell but I don't know if my mind is strong enough for that. Not to mention I also have to find a good place to do that and it certainly can't be in this house. The last thing I want is for someone to come and interrupt the spell while I am casting it.' Cassian thought to himself as he closed his eyes to think.

He also remembered how he had taken control of the maids in his mansion but he is not about to take a risk and alert any unsavory group about his intentions. Since he is a nobleman his escapades with the maids would only be seen as him playing around so it is fine, though his reputation might take a blow if he didn't control it.

'First of all, I have to learn a good amount of magic spells before doing something like summoning the Greater Spirit. There is a chance that powerful mages would sense the summons or at least the spirit so I can't be too careful. I need to have full control over my house if I want to do it.' Cassian thought to himself as he put the slip in his Storage Space.

He then looked at the various books before getting a book containing spells as he read them all and wrote them down in his book before he placed it back on the shelf. He then left the library and the mansion after telling the maids that he is going out.

"Please take care Master." The maid at the front door said to him with a bow.

"Don't worry. I will be vigilant." Cassian said as he pat her head before walking away.

He went to the nearby forest, it was cleared by the knights in his family's disposal. Some tried to come with him but he dismissed them on the fact that they had done a cleaning of the forest not too long ago so he would be fine.

And he was fine as he didn't see any monsters, he went to a clearing in the forest and then created a barrier around the area. No one from outside would be able to see him that way as he had used a powerful spell for that. He also bought another thing from the Greed Shop which was [Affinity for Magic]. It was a trait which increased his affinity for magic to greater levels and also for mana as well.

This allowed him to be able to use magic more easily due to the increased affinity for it. After he had made sure that he had erected a powerful barrier he then started to use destructive spells on the rocks he had created in the clearing.

He used Fire, Lightning, Water, Earth, Wind, Plants, Light and Darkness. He had to go through a lot of spell books to learn a good amount of magic and he was quite proud of his achievement. Though he knows that there are many who are stronger than him as well which is why he wants to be secretive with his strength.

After he was done with the testing he sat on a piece of rock and took some time to rest as he opened his shop and looked at it. He looked at the Spirit Binding spell and bought. No sooner than he did he learned how to use the spell expertly as a smile appeared on his face.

"Good. Now let's take a look at the other items." Cassian said to himself as he looked at the shop.

He saw a few good skills like the [Protection of Mind and Body] skill which protects his mind and body from external influence. Which meant that his mind could not be controlled and corrupted, which also went the same for his body as well as it can't be corrupted by external forces. Though he could still be killed, be poisoned, paralysed and other status type effects and be affected by natural causes like fever etc.

'This is an OP skill so I guess it's not a surprise it has a catch.' Cassian thought to himself as he looked at the description.

Though this also meant that his mind could not be controlled and read by others which is a good thing for him. Because of this, even though the skill cost 10000 GP he decided to buy it due to how useful it would be, especially in a world like this.

"Now... what else..." Cassian muttered to himself as he went through the shop.

He read through the many skills, items, traits, spells in the shop as he went through them. But then his eyes widened when he saw a skill that caught his attention.

[Skill: Reactive Adaptation]

[Gives the users body the ability to reactively adapt so situations, whether magical or physical given sufficient time.]

[Warning: The success of this skill depends on whether the user stays alive long enough for their body to adapt. The skill doesn't ensure that the user lives.]

[GP: 5000]

"My God." Cassian said as he looked at the skill slack jawed.
