Dulio took the rejection of his proposal quite well. In fact, he didn't seem bothered by it at all, he even seemed to expect it. Luka saw the determination in those green eyes increase even more and could only sigh in exasperation.

`What a weird guy.` Became a recurring thought in the coming weeks.

The situation in Stuttgart only worsened and getting out of the city became almost impossible. The train and bus stations are constantly monitored by devils, fallen angels, and other factions that stuck their noses in the dangerous pot that is Stuttgart. They guard these locations to monitor persons of interest leaving and entering Stuttgart.

Dulio informed him that so far four Sacred Gear users who entered the city in the past two weeks have been kidnapped. Two of them joined the Devil Faction upon being persuaded but the other two- They were kidnapped by fallen angels, their corpses were found in horrible conditions having been tortured.

Many fallen angels still hold a grudge against humans because from their point of view God preferred an imperfect and inferior race to them, reason why many fell. That hatred leads them to do horrible things.

The pinkhead couldn't help but laugh. Near-immortal beings, blessed with beauty, power, and many other gifts, are jealous of a race that lives less than a century, a race that regards them as myth and legend.

Luka was lucky enough to enter Stuttgart just a few days before the "war" started, the situation was still very calm as the factions were planning their next moves.

Not wanting to risk becoming prey to these dangerous beings, the mage accepted Dulio's offer to stay with him until the situation calmed down. The hotel he woke up in is owned by the Church so his stay is free. A room in a four-star hotel with unlimited room service, plus a bunch of well trained guards, all for free. Luka took advantage of that to the fullest.

But just because he spent much of the day lounging around watching movies and eating junk food doesn't mean he neglected his training. Thanks to the functions of the [Battle Arena], he can spend hours training in that space, hours that are not even a second in the real world.

During his training he kept improving his two spells and after much training he finally improved his aim when using "Ice-Make: Shooting Nail!" enough to hit the zombie's skull nine times out of ten. He also increased the speed of the spell to only 4 seconds.

That's not all, he also developed other spells. "Ice-Make: Floor!" allows him to freeze the ground around him, which comes in handy when fighting many enemies. Another spell he developed is "Ice-Make: Bat-kun!", In memory of the destroyed bat he learned to create one out of ice. For this he learned to increase the density and durability of his ice to the point of being able to create a structure as solid and resistant as wood.

He tried to create an ice sword but he's still not skilled enough to create the sharp edge so he decided to put that spell aside until he improves his proficiency with his magic.

Currently, almost two months after his arrival in this world, he feels prepared enough to face his first F rank enemy.

Why doesn't he face the Battle Royal mode on G difficulty first? Because although single zombies are not a threat and he can kill them quite easily, that is in one on one combat. The situation would be very different if he had to face a hundred or a thousand zombies at the same time.

`[Battle Arena: Duel Mode. Difficulty Setting: F]`

The world distorts around him, Luka closes his eyes for a moment and when he opens them he finds himself in a place he is very familiar with. The large walls, the transparent dome, the floor covered in a light layer of sand and dust,... He has spent countless hours killing hundreds of zombies in this place, he knows the Arena better than the palm of his hand.

[Duel will begin in 30 seconds!]

Luka tightens his grip on his ice bat and mentally prepares himself for the match. His spell "Ice-Make: Bat-kun!" takes almost a minute to use so he had already used it before entering the Arena.

[Generating F-rank enemy!]

A few meters away from him, his opponent begins to materialize.

Is a tall, horse-sized but bulkier figure, with muscular legs and abundant blue-gray fur.

"A giant wolf. Is it a direwolf or some sort of hell hound?" The wolf doesn't answer his question, he starts howling before looking at him threateningly.

Big ice blue eyes look at him as if he were a juicy piece of meat, which to the wolf he surely is. The wolf snarls and shows his teeth, larger than toothpicks and silver in color, shiny from the saliva that drips from the wolf's mouth.

"Grandmother dear, what big teeth you have." Luka jokes weakly. "Now is when you say they are to eat me better."

The wolf starts to walk to the side, keeping his eyes on Luka and slowly circling him. The pinkhead turns to keep the wolf in his line of sight.

"Don't you have a sense of humor? Or maybe you can't talk? Maybe both." The wolf walked around him and did not seem very impressed with what he saw, because instead of continuing analyzing Luka, he started running towards the mage.

Luka had been waiting for the wolf stampede ever since he materialized. He knows that his usual dodging tactics won't work as wolves are much more agile than humans, and are on a completely different level compared to the zombies he is used to fight.

Without mana his body is as fast and strong as a teenager of about fourteen, with mana he can surpass any Olympian athlete, even some animals, but this wolf is not just any wolf. He is clearly a magical beast, so he cannot expect to surpass him in physical attributes.

He has to use his wits and magic to win, things he has been preparing since the wolf appeared.

"Ice-Make: Floor!" His right hand hits the ground and a layer of ice spreads out in all directions.

Instinctively, thinking that the ice is dangerous, the wolf jumped to avoid it but the ice spread out below him and he landed on it. The wolf did not expect how slippery it was and began to have trouble keeping his balance, which he did not have time to do as an ice nail crashed into his side, knocking him to the ground.

The wolf began to howl and whimper in pain.

"Ice-Make: Shooting Nail!" This time Luka aimed for the wolf's head and hit just below the left eye, the ice nail piercing the skull bone with a noise that echoed through the Arena.

[Congratulations! You have won the duel!

+5 System Point!

Teleporting out of [Battle Arena] in 30 seconds!]

`It is much more difficult to kill a giant wolf than a zombie, if it weren't for Ice-Make: Floor the situation would have been quite complicated. It was a wise decision to focus so much on that spell.` Luka plops down on his bed and looks up at the ceiling with a grin.

`Preparing a spell ahead of time is a great tactic, one that won't work against opponents who are able to sense the mana building up in preparation to cast the spell. But against beasts it is very useful.`

"What should I do now? Keep practicing my spells? BA? Or watch TV? The next episode of Drag So-Ball will start soon..."

Even though Drag So-Ball is supposed to be this world's version of Dragon Ball, it doesn't have saiyans or Ki. It is a story about a teenage girl who finds an old scroll in the attic of her recently deceased grandfather's house. The scroll contains the legend of a treasure that belongs to the legendary Tianlong, the treasure is three magic balls that once reunited can summon the legendary dragon and supposedly Tianlong will grant any wish to those who manage to gather all three.

The girl's grandfather used to dream of being that person and always talked about it, after his death she decided to try to fulfill her grandfather's dream, thinking that if it is true she could ask Tianlong to resurrect her beloved grandfather. On her journey she meets all kinds of people, including a martial arts genius who lived in a hidden temple in the mountains who becomes her companion and love interest.

It's a pretty good story, it doesn't compare to Dragon Ball but it's quite entertaining.

`This week Baiwen will meet Satoru's older brother, who is part of a gang.` He turns on the television and settles on the bed. `I will continue training after watching this episode.`

"Dulio, are you going to continue with your nonsense?" A beautiful woman in her twenties with silver-blonde hair, a pale complexion, and piercing ice-blue eyes glared at the young exorcist.

"It's not nonsense, Miss Griselda." Dulio replied in a light tone, ignoring her glare and coldness as if he was very used to them.

"You are seventeen years old, that boy is eight. Children in his condition need special attention, you are not in a position to be their father or anyone's father for that matter."

"Because of my age?" Dulio lowers his head and his hair hides his eyes but the coldness of his tone is not hidden by anything, and it surprises Griselda Quarta so much that she takes a half step back. "Miss Griselda, we have known each other for five years and we have worked together several times but that does not mean you know me. My physical age is only a fraction of my real age."

Dulio takes a step forward and falls from the roof of the building where they were standing. As soon as he falls two meters, a current of air lifts him up and he floats a meter away from his partner.

"I'll go patrol downtown. I'll keep an eye on Mister Cristaldi." Dulio flies away before she can answer.

"Have I crossed a line?" Griselda wonders in a low voice. "Maybe I should buy him something as an apology, I seem to remember that Dulio really enjoys sweets."

Dulio "real age" refers to the fact that sometimes people are more mature and therefore "older" than they appear. Due to his harsh childhood Dulio was never truly a child, even after being adopted he became an exorcist almost immediately afterwards so it could be said that he was already an "adult" (someone who lived on his own, and got his own food) at the age where most children still learn to read.
