Chapter 2: Purpose

"Wait...Celestia?" I remembered what the gamer system told me before I made my character. "You're the one who selected me to be reincarnated."

"You remember." She smiled. "Yes I am Celestia and I have chosen you to be my champion."

"Champion? For what?" I ask.

"I need your help. There are many evil people in this world, many vile and disgusting beings on this planet that don't deserve to live and I need you to defeat them for me." Celestia explained.

"Not to sound rude or anything but why not just do it yourself? You are a goddess after all." I said not wanting to anger the goddess.

"Being a goddess restricts me from making any meaningful changes, only allowing me to make subtle differences."

A list of names along with descriptions showed up on my holographic screen. "This is the list of people I want gone." Celestia said.

Victor Stonehart, The Mad Scientist

He may not be strong but he's still a threat. Through his twisted experiments on unwilling human test subjects, he has created monsters and their numbers will continue to grow until Victor decides to attack.

Lady Arachnia, The Webweaver

She uses her enchanted spider silk to control the minds of others. For theft.

Killian

Current level: 68

He's a bounty hunter. Is there any more to say? He kills people for money and does it with no remorse.

Draven Darkthorn, The Shadow Mage

Current level: 114

He uses his dark magic to manipulate and control people's fears, turning them into mindless minions.

Seraphina

Current level: 197

A vampire who traps and drains the blood of innocent people to sustain her own life.

Kiara Masen, The Enchantress

Current level: 203

She plans to use her vast array of magical abilities to retrieve the keys to the universe so she can use them to awaken Oblivion.

Adam Ellis

Current level: 307

He's the son of Zeus and he plans to break the one rule all gods must follow. He wants gods to be able to do as they please and rule over the mortals.

Oblivion

Current level: ???

He is dormant at the moment but if he reawakens than that means hell for all of us. He won't just destroy the world but the entire universe

Goddamn. I'm expected to fight and defeat all these people? At least now I have a reason to get stronger. "Why can't I see Oblivion's level?" I asked.

"It seems you're not strong enough to gauge his power yet. But don't worry you'll get there soon." Celestia smiled reassuringly.

And with that she disappeared into thin air.

I sighed before laying back on my bed before going to sleep.

The next day I showed Ariyanna where all her classes were. During lunch I decided to go to the library to eat. The ridiculously loud screaming in there was giving me a headache.

While I was up there I decided to entertain myself with some classic literature, but as I did so I noticed something interesting on my gamer screen(yes that's what I'm calling it now).

I was somehow getting smarter just by reading a book. I know reading gave you knowledge but it was never that easy.

I make everything easier.

I shrugged. Who am I to complain. Free smarts was free smarts. Before I began reading again, I had an idea, a hypothesis if you will.

What if. I went to the shelves and picked up a calculus book which was significantly harder than the fiction book I was reading prior to this.

I started reading it and analyzing everything written in it. And truth be told my hypothesis was correct.

Oh this was gonna be fun.

Unfortunately I only had enough time to get ten more points to my intelligence stat. But I could continue this another day.

When I got home mom was at work and Adrianna was hanging out with her friends.

That meant it was my responsibility to take Chloe to that disney princess theme amusement park. It wasn't far from the house so we just walked there.

"So which ride you wanna go on first?" I asked my adopted sister.

She looked around before she pointed to the flying carousel. "That one!"

The flying carousel ride was fun but it was also the only fun ride. All the other rides and rollercoasters were mostly made for kids.

But as long as Chloe had fun, that's really all that matters. When we were about to go home Chloe saw who she thought was Elsa. I could of told her that it was just someone being payed to pretend to be Elsa but that would just break her heart. Chloe took a picture with the cosplayer before we officially went home.

I carried Chloe on my shoulders as we walked home.

"Did you have fun today?" I ask.

"Ofcourse! Today was an amazing day!" She responded happily. "You're the best big bro ever!"

+30 Affection with Chloe(45/100) for taking her to the amusement park.

I smile appreciatively. "Thanks Chloe."

After we got home I went up to my room. Needed to figure out how I was going to get strong enough to take on all those people that Celestia showed to me.

How do I get stronger game?

Other than defeating enemies in real life and getting exp from quests you can also get stronger by training in a dungeon.

A dungeon is a pocket dimension that you can use to fight various monsters and gain exp.

[Dungeon: Skeletons]

Difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, Hard, Nightmare, Impossible.

All you have to do is select the difficulty and say 'enter dungeon'.

I was only level 1 so lets start off on easy.

Enter dungeon.

I spawned into a wasteland with nothing but desert sand and rocky mountains.

I looked around and one by one, skeletons began spawning.

I saw their levels above their heads. They all ranged from level 1 to 5.

So I have fire powers right?

I formed a small fire ball in my hand and threw it at one of the skeletons making them crumble to dust.

I created more fireballs and threw them at three skeletons.

Leveled up!

This was fun and easy. Just how I like it. Getting strong with this dungeon would be child's play.

I continued to spam fireballs at the relatively weak skeletons. I could feel myself slowly getting stronger but using fireballs was starting to become boring. I closed my eyes and manipulated the fire into an arrow. I also added more fire power into this attack. I leaned my arm back and threw it at a group of skeletons.

The flame arrow let out an explosion upon impact which made the skeletons fall apart and disintegrate.

Just as I thought it was over a final skeleton showed up. It carried an axe and was partially covered in armor. He was much stronger than the others, level 15.

As the final boss skeleton walked towards me I formed two fire balls and threw them at the skeleton. It didn't seem to take any significant damage as it just continued to walk through the fire.

The skeleton boss ran up to me swung his sword down. I just barely dodged it by jumping backwards. I avoided the next two slashes and launched a flame arrow at the skeleton.

The skeleton lifted it's blade and slashed downwards, cutting the flame arrow in half making it dissipate.

'I need more fire power.' I thought. I formed a fire ball in my palm and I added more magic power into it. Instead of throwing it I blasted it at the skeleton. The blast shot towards the skeleton and engulfed it in fire.

After the blast died down the skeleton was no where to be seen.
