57 Ch.57
Right after they sent out their Espeon and Honchkrow, Leo moved before any other Pokémon could move. Leo reached Espeon and bit down on her with his Crunch making her cry out in pain before going limp in his mouth. He dropped her like an old sack and then he charged Honchkrow who managed to use Night Slash just as Leo dropped Espeon.
The barely visible blade of Dark Type Energy flew through the air toward Leo. Though Leo just tanked the hit not even caring he got struck. He then bit down on Honchkrow with his Thunder Fang making Honchkrow cry out before also passing out right after. Like Espeon, Leo dropped Honchkrow on the ground and walked back over to me.
Everyone stood there very surprised at what just occurred, Cynthia was aware my Pokémon were King Ranked. Though it seems she didn't know they reached their full strength at the rank. The couple then paid us the promised amount and quickly walked away.
"Damn, Leo you are strong!" Cynthia says making Leo look at her with a proud expression.
"Yes, he is. Plus there is still room for him to grow, same for the rest of my team. I won't stop until they reach the pinnacle of their species," I say while patting Leo's side and trying to think of ways to increase Mamoswine who is the 'weakest' of my team when it comes to potential growth.
As we continue our walk toward Mount Stark we are stopped several more times by trainers to battle. I would decline the battles if they were solo trainers, while Cynthia would battle them instead. However, we did run into several other duo trainers whom I helped battle alongside Cynthia. Then finally after several hours, we arrived at Mount Stark.
Arriving there we can see the outside the entrance is a map of the explored parts of the inside caves. You can download the map from the board showing it, plus it gives you the places where commonly found Pokémon types are inside.
Walking inside after we downloaded the map, we came across other trainers who were walking around looking for Pokémon or battling one another. Though this time both Cynthia and I denied anyone who wanted to battle us. Instead, we heard to the center of the Mountain.
"This should be the spot," I say after determining where being dug directly down will lead us to an underground magma pit.
"So are we gonna dig straight down?" Cynthia says while I think about it.
"Leo can dig down and if he is brought right into Magma or anything like that, he will remain untouched," I say as Leo nods his head and begins digging down while Garchomp is watching our backs.
Leo then begins digging down we sit there for a few hours until he lets me know that he found the place and it is safe to come down. I then take out my rope and anchor it to the top before making my way down. Cynthia is staying at the top to ensure no one disturbs us and in case the rope anchor loosens.
"Stay safe," Cynthia says giving me a slightly worried look as I nod my head and smile at her before going down.
I have to extend my rope several times and run out of rope around a hundred feet down. From there, I had to use my powers to levitate me down the rest, which was another seventy feet or so. Once there I Leo who is currently rolling around in the lava enjoying his version of the ocean.
"Glad you are enjoying yourself," I say with a chuckle.
'Are you ok?' Cynthia asks me through the connection I made with her.
'Yeah, we're good. Though can you call Professor Rowan and tell him to get his team here? I found an underground cavern, plus I believe an undiscovered ancient Pokémon is here,' I say as she confirms my request.
Right after I walk toward the magma, which is a huge lake slowly moving around. The magma lake looks like it is around several hundred feet in all directions. While the cavern extends past it. I walked around the cavern while Leo enjoyed himself in the magma lake.
As I walked past the magma lake's right side, I instinctively used all my power to protect myself as a large molten rock smashed into my invisible barrier. The blast launched me back into the wall cracking it. Though my barrier lasted through it, thankfully I held myself together not passing out.
Looking over I see a reddish-brown, quadrupedal Pokémon. It is dotted with orange and gray spots, and it has metal bangles locked on its legs. Its four claws on each of its feet are in a cross formation. It is known as Heatran, while it has a gray underside, and its face is covered by an iron mask, with red-orange eyes uncovered. Whenever it is seen with its mouth open, an orange glow emanates from inside it. Boiling magma-like blood circulates through its body.
Leo immediately intercepted Heatran slamming into him using Head Smash making Heatran cry out in pain. Heatran appeared to be in the Emperor Ranked stage just above Leo, though Leo could hold his own. Leo and Heatran stare at one another, for a split second before both go back to attacking one another.
"Mamoswine, help the best you can, same with you Annihilape. Milotic, watch my back," I say as I toss out Mamoswine and Milotic's Poké balls, with Annihilape immediately attacking Heatran alongside Leo.
Leo was keeping Heatran's attention as Mamoswine prepared an Earthquake. Just as Mamoswine released the Earthquake Leo jumped up dodging it. As the power moved through the magma it made the whole shake with a few rocks falling down into the magma lake. Then Heatran cried in pain as the energy tore through his body. Annihilape then launched himself off of Mamoswine toward Heatran.
Annihilape used Focus Punch slamming Heatran down into the Magma, stunning him. Just as Leo used another Head Smash cracking Heatran's head. Heatran then passed out unconscious. I then released a breath I was holding in, from the sudden appearance of Heatran.
"Great job everyone," I say after relaxing a bit.
"Leo please drag Heatran out of the magma, then I want everyone to watch him closely. I will stabilize him," I say while closing his serious wounds, though he remains passed out.
'Are you ok?! I felt the mountain shake!' Cynthia says to me after the Earthquake reached them above.
'Yes, I'm good. We ran into the Pokémon I was telling you about. We were able to subdue it and are keeping it on watch for now,' I say as she sighs relaxing now.
'Good, Professor Rowan said he will be here in another hour,' Cynthia says.
'OK, good. When they get here tell them the rope only goes down a hundred feet and that they need atleast another eighty feet to reach the bottom,' I say to her.
'Ok, I'll let him know,' Cynthia says as I sit down and rub my head feeling a headache come from overusing my power earlier.
I then notice a small glowing stone in the middle of the magma lake. Because my powers are currently strained, I have Ralts attempt to lift the stone and bring it over to me. After half an hour and many breaks every few minutes, Ralts finally drags the stone over to the edge of the magma lake. Looking at it, I see it is a red stone formed when boulders melted in intensely hot magma, and then hardened. Magma remains sealed inside.
"Put this back please," I say seeing Heatran twitch as the Magma Stone was disturbed.
Ralts with a sigh nods her head before slowly putting the stone back. From what I know Heatran keeps relatively calm because of the Magma Stone. So I'd rather not deal with a crazy Heatran and just let the stone be.
"Great job," I say patting Ralts head and making her smile as I give her her favorite food.
Finally, Professor Rowan and his team arrived according to Cynthia. Though Heatran has remained still, even though I sensed he woke up ten minutes ago. However, it seems that my team standing right next to him has him remaining still. Then I hear them start to reach my area.
Looking over I see someone who looks like a professional mountain climber come down. Then Cynthia and then Professor Rowan, with the others coming down right after. They all look around at the place, before seeing me and my team surrounding a downed Pokémon.
I walk over and hug Cynthia who hugs me happy to see I'm fine. While Garchomp walks over to look at Heatran who still remains unmoving. Professor Rowan and his team are looking too, but don't approach yet.
"That is the Pokémon, though I was able to subdue it. It has woken back up not long ago, it just remains still, out of fear I assume," I say to them as they nod and take pictures from afar.
"Can your team continue to watch it? I just want to take some samples," Professor Rowan says as I nod my head.
Professor Rowan then slowly walks over while my team is watching Heatran closely. Professor Rowan then uses a special tool to take samples from Heatran before quickly backing up as he twitches from the touch. We then spend another hour there as the team takes more pictures and records everything down.
Finally we all leave, with me and my team last as we are watching Heatran. Once I grab the rope I withdraw my team, while Annihilape goes back to my shadow. Then I quickly climb back up, as I hear Heatran jump back into the Magma lake. Once back on the top, Professor Rowan and his team are talking about the new Pokémon discovery.
"We need to close this section down. Until the league can determine the safety with that ancient Pokémon below no one is allowed down there," Professor Rowan says to his team as they begin escorting everyone out of the Mountain.
"Lucas, Cynthia, you two are making huge waves across the league. I'm glad you both are doing great things. But at the same time, you've made some enemies. The Underground groups have been more and more active in the last few months. I fear you two might be targeted soon, so just be careful out there," Professor Rowan says as we walk back to the entrance.
"I appreciate the heads up," I say nodding my head and thinking that we might run into Team Rocket, Team Galactic, or any of the other groups soon.
Cynthia and I then head back to the resort's port area. There we spend another week relaxing and enjoying one another's company. After that, I hire a small crew to take us to the Newmoon and Fullmoon islands. We stock up on our essentials before heading to the docks and boarding the ship that will take us to the two islands.
