Mamoswine immediately charged up a Blizzard, as Venusaur quickly used a Sunny Day. The Blizzard blasted out just as a piercing sunlight breached through the arena. However, just after the blizzard was released, Venusaur seemed to remain standing as a blast of fire ran through the Blizzard making Mamoswine cry out in pain.

With the Blizzard dying down, we can see a now heavily injured Venusuar and Mamoswine as he sustained previous injuries and now had received a newer one. Mamoswine then began to quickly gather more ice-type energy with Venusaur gathering more normal-type energy.

The two Pokémon release it simultaneously with Mamoswine sending spears of ice toward the already heavily injured Venusaur. As Venusaur sent out another blast of a wave of fire, it seemed he was using Nature Energy and combined with Sunny Day, made it fire-type.

The icy spears passed through the wave of fire crashing into Venusaur and making it collapse onto the ground bleeding profusely. While the wave of fire washed over Mamoswine cried in pain and now looked like he received heavy burns this time. Before anyone could say anything else, both Pokémon gave one last look of defiance to one another, before collapsing at the same time.

"Both Pokémon are unable to battle! The battle is a tie, but the match is won by Trainer Lucas!" the referee says as we both withdraw our Pokémon and I patch up Mamoswine enough before taking him to a Pokémon Center later.

Sophie gave me an annoyed look but seemed happy that she was able to take down one of my Pokémon. As no one else was able to so far Mamoswine showed that we are that much stronger than everyone else. With Leo and Annihilape even stronger but no one knows how much stronger, with Annihilape being my Ace for this tournament.

"Good match," I say to her offering my hand in a handshake. She gives me a look over before taking it and shaking my hand.

"Yeah, good match," Sophie says before walking away to wherever.

I head to the arena Pokémon Center which is only available for emergencies and active tournament contestants. I had over Mamoswine and saw Brock still waiting, so I decided to sit with him still as I only had one more battle today before I either lost or qualified for the semi-finals.

"Trainer Brock, your Golem is finally out of surgery. He will need to be kept here overnight for observation. But by tomorrow morning should be ready to leave with you. However, he unfortunately suffered some permanent injuries. He may never be as strong as he once was or grow in strength in the future," the doctor says as they come out from the staff-only area to talk with Brock.

"I see… At least he is alive," Brock says with a saddened look but nods his head. I feel guilty that I was the reason Golem permanently injured himself.

"Brock–" I say wanting to apologize again and offer my sympathies.

"Lucas, it's not your fault. We fought with everything we had, but it seems I made a major mistake letting Golem use the one move he shouldn't have unless absolutely necessary," Brock says to me cutting me off before I can continue.

"We'll be fine don't worry about us. Can I see him?" Brock says to me and then turns to the doctor who nods and shows him the way to Golem.

A few minutes later, I received Mamoswine back who was back to his normal self. Then I made my way back to the waiting area for the contestants. Walking inside I see Lance who I informed what was happening with Brock.

"Damn, hopefully, Brock doesn't fall too far back because of this," Lance says with a saddened look hearing about his friend.

"Yeah, but Brock is strong and I know he will pull through this," I say with a hopeful voice, though still unsure on the inside.

"Yeah…" Lance says nodding his head feeling the same way as me I'm sure.

Lance was then called for his last battle, I wished him good luck. Then I was left in the room with only the older generation, like Red who was keeping to himself in the corner of the room. Though my opponent was the only other person part of my generation in the room and I looked forward to beating her. Sabrina who was staring daggers at me knowing the next battle for the both of us, was each other.

After another couple of hours, our battle was next and Lance already left qualifying for the semi-finals. Once I beat Sabrina, then I would face Lance in the semi-finals and then Red before whoever wins that to face Blue. However, I know I won't be able to beat Red, though I still want to be known as the strongest of my generation at least in the region.

We walked out into the arena facing one another and throughout our first Pokémon. Like usual I brought Mamoswine as my first one, with Sabrina bringing out Slowking. Slowking is a bipedal Pokémon with a Shellder latched onto its head. It is primarily pink, with a pale yellow muzzle and scaled belly. Its feet and hands each have a single clawed digit, while the hands also have a clawless thumb. Around its neck is a spiny ruff with alternating red and white stripes. The Shellder on its head has a spiral shape with two horns near the base. A red gem resides in the center of the Shellder. The Shellder's eyes are visible on the back of the Shellder.

"Begin!" the referee says to us and we both keep quiet commanding our Pokémon through our connections with them.

'Mamoswine, careful they are a dual water and psychic type. Buff up and try your best to avoid the water-type move,' I say to Mamoswine who immediately begins buffing himself up.

Slowking also begins to buff himself up. Using Amnesia and Psych Up, then the two Pokémon stare at one another for a split second before using their first attack moves. Mamoswine loves using Blizzard due to its power and attack radious making it almost impossible to avoid. Slowking charged up a water-type move, as the energy began swirling around him.

The two Pokémon then released their moves, with Mamoswine blasting out a Blizzard, while Slowking released a huge wave of water toward Mamoswine. Thankfully Mamoswine is King Ranked and stronger than Slowking, as his Blizzard easily froze the wave of water.

'Mamoswine, slam into the frozen wave to make it hit Slowking!' I say as Mamoswine changes the frozen wave of water.

Slowking who cried out in pain as the Blizzard damaged him, then began charging up another move powering through the pain. However, before he can release the move, Mamoswine smashes into the frozen wave of water. The frozen wave cracks before toppling backward.

We hear Slowking panic canceling his latest move before beginning to use his psychic powers to try to slop the falling wave. Mamoswine capitalizes on this moment to rear up and slam the ground using his Earthquake.

The earthquake smashes through the frozen wave making it shatter into large pieces. Then it collides with Slowking who cries out in pain as the energy damages his insides. Then the large pieces of the frozen wave smash into Slowking making him collapse onto the ground covered in chunks of ice.

"Slowking is unable to battle! The winners are Trainer Lucas and Mamoswine!" the referee says. While Sabrina looks like she wants to kill me and Mamoswine, her hatred for me has only increased ever since our first meeting.

Sabrina then sends out her next Pokémon, which is a Jynx. Jynx is a bipedal, humanoid Pokémon that resembles a woman. It has purple skin, pink lips, saucer-like eyes, and long blonde hair. It wears a red gown with two gold circles on the chest. It has white arms and five-fingered purple hands.

"Begin!" the referee says.

'Mamoswine you know what to do,' I say but just then I hear Jynx begin to sing a song. My eyes widened.

"Stop her now!!" I say immediately realizing that Jynx wants to take both her and Mamoswine out. Using Perish Song, Mamoswine immediately charges up an Earthquake.

Mamoswine slams into the ground and then begins charging up a Blizzard right afterward. The seismic energy smashes into Jynx who grimaces in pain but keeps singing the song. Mamoswine then releases a Blizzard that blasts outward crashing into Jynx.

As the Blizzard dies down we see Mamoswine on the ground like someone cut the strings from him as he is down unmoving. Along with Jynx who is frozen over completely and unmoving. I glare at Sabrina who is smirking at me, even though he is down two Pokémon, to my one.

"Both Pokémon are unable to battle! The round is a tie! Please send out your next Pokémon," the referee says while I toss out Leo's Poké ball.

Leo appears staring down Sabrina with a look of contempt and anger feeling my strong dislike towards her. While Sabrina looks slightly intimidated feeling Leo's anger directed toward her. Then she brings out her third Pokémon, a Mr. Mime.

Mr. Mime is a bipedal, humanoid Pokémon. Blue growths resembling clown hair extend from the sides of its pale pink head, and there is a magenta circle on each cheek. Its jaw is curved inward, resembling the mouth of a wooden dummy. It has a round, white body with a magenta spot in the middle, light pink arms and legs that connect to its body via magenta spheres, and small white coverings over its knees. Its white hands resemble gloves with magenta pads on the tips of its white fingers and its dark blue feet curl upward at the tips.

"Begin!" the referee says seeing everyone ready.

"Leo, don't hold back," I say, annoyed that Sabrina took out Mamoswine plus with one move.

Leo immediately buffs himself up, as Mr. Mime does the same. However, Leo due to his move master finishes first and charges Mr. Mime. Mr. Mime is not able to react in time, as Leo crashes into him with his Wild Charge causing Mr. Mime to cry out in pain and slam into the invisible wall due to the strength behind the strike.

Then Leo closes the distance again, biting into Mr. Mime with his Fire Fang, and begins to trash Mr. Mime around like he is a rag doll. Dropping him to the ground Leo then releases a breath of flames that wash over Mr. Mime who didn't even finish buffing himself up. As the flames are about to wash over Mr. Mime, Sabrina withdraws him.

"Trainer Sabrina withdrew Mr. Mime! The winners are Trainer Lucas and Arcanine!" the referee says. Leo and I both smirk back at her as she looks ready to shoot us if she has a gun.

Sabrina then sends out her last Pokémon, Alakazam. Alakazam is a slightly humanoid Pokémon with a large mustache. A female Alakazam has a significantly shorter mustache than a male. It has a long, thin snout, narrow eyes, ear-like spikes extending from the top of its head, and an additional spike protruding from each cheek. Covering its yellow, skeletal body are brown armor-like sections over its chest, shoulders, forearms, and knees. There are three toes on each foot, each of which has a white claw. Two of the toes face forward, while one faces backward. It wields a silver spoon in each hand, which acts as an amplifier for its psychic abilities.

Alakazam is also her ace, plus her starter, and the last time we met was only a Kadabra. Feeling her emotions Alakazam glares at both of us, while Leo glares back. The intensity in the arena is extremely high, as the referee even feels it staring at us with slight worry.

"Begin!" the referee says shaking off the feeling and seeing everyone ready.
