28 Ch.28
While we walked around the city sightseeing, I used the TM LT. Surge gave me for Leo. Leo then learned his latest move, Thunder Fang. We also had made the appointment to battle the gym tomorrow. With Piloswine now evolved and ranked up, the gym battle should hopefully be easier. Especially since the Gym Leader of Fuchsia City's Gym is Koga Kurosawa, specializes in Poison Type.
Walking into the gym for my allotted time the next day, I can see many people have come to watch the match. As my popularity has only grown these last few months to very high levels. I stand at my spot waiting for the referee to come out, which they do shortly after I stand in my spot.
The battlefield here appeared to be a heavily forested area and a few feet below where I was standing gave us a view over the battlefield that was a dense forest. I can only assume it is because Koga being a 'ninja' uses it for stealth. A few minutes later Koga comes out wearing a black ninja-yoroi with a dark purple belt and what appeared to be mesh or chain armor under his shirt.
'Jesus, what kind of 'ninja' is this well-known and showy? Doesn't that defeat the purpose? I have so many questions,' I think to myself seeing the young adult man walk out and give me a serious look eyeing me up.
"Please send out your first Pokémon!" the referee says to us seeing us both waiting for his announcement.
We both send out our first Pokémon, with me sending out Piloswine and he appears stomping the ground in excitement. At the same time, Koga sent out a Golbat that screeched a battlecry after being sent out. It made me consider why a Pokémon of a 'ninja' would be loud like that. Shaking my confusion and second-hand embarrassment for Koga, I focus on the battle to come.
"Begin!" the referee says seeing everyone ready for the battle.
"Freeze them!" I say while I notice Koga seeming to whisper or speak very lowly and Golbat hears him as it prepares its moves.
Piloswine immediately forms icy shards around himself and launches them at Golbat who was hit crying in pain as it was using its moves. Right after Golbat got hit it used Screech, yet Piloswine just finished using Mist which disabled Screech from taking effect. However, right after Golbat's Screech, it used Quick Guard which will prevent me from having Piloswine spam Ice Shard.
"Piloswine, use Ice Shard and close the distance between you two!" I say as Piloswine gathers more icy shards around himself.
At the same time, Golbat lets out another very high-pitched noise making even my ears hurt. Then I noticed Piloswine appeared to be very confused right now, Golbat was able to successfully land a Supersonic. While Piloswine overcharged his energy making it blow up in his face and hurt himself instead. Right after the supersonic, Golbat rushed Piloswine and with a mouth dripping with a dark viscous liquid bit Piloswine who cried out in pain.
"Piloswine, snap out of it and use Ice Fang!" I say to Piloswine who is thrashing around himself while Golbat easily moves out of the way keeping its distance above Piloswine.
Piloswine then ran towards where it believed Golbat was and Piloswine looked like he was seeing double. As he ran head-first into a large rock cracking it slightly and causing more damage to himself crying out in pain from the impact. Golbat took this opportunity to land another Poison Fang. This time, however, Piloswine was poisoned as he began coughing up some blood and looked lethargic.
"Piloswine! Try to focus and calm down!" I shout to Piloswine who finally snapped out of his confusion.
Just as he snapped out of it Golbat dived back down to him with another Poison Fang prepared. For the first time, Piloswine appeared very pissed off and turned just in time to jump up and bite down on Golbat with his Ice Fang. Golbat cried in pain and bit Piloswine back with another Poison Fang making Piloswine release Golbat who disappeared back into the dense forest.
'Piloswine, I am connecting you to Golbat so you know where it is. Though keep your distance and gather all your Ice Energy and release it all around yourself,' I say to Piloswine through our connection. He immediately turns to face the direction of Golbat surprising both Koga and Golbat.
Golbat seeing Piloswine gathering his energy and knowing where it is, comes out of hiding. Golbat gathered a dark viscous dripping ball of poison and launched it at Piloswine who jumped out of the way at the last second dodging it. Right after, Golbat then gathered some wind around itself and launched barely visible blades of wind at Piloswine.
Piloswine was able to dodge the first blade, but the next few landed on him making him grunt in pain. As it did very little damage, however, Piloswine looks on his last leg since the poison has been slowly damaging him. I can only hope Piloswine releases his new move that we've been practicing 'Blizzard' and takes out Golbat before he passes out.
Golbat in one last attempt to take out Piloswine before he released his Blizzard, gathered another ball of poison energy. However, just before Golbat could release his latest move, Piloswine gave a battle cry while a huge icy storm blasted out from him as the center. The icy storm immediately froze the ground and trees within the immediate area as ice covered them, with the further ones still being covered in a thin layer of ice.
Piloswine was breathing heavily looking ready to pass out, but we could all see a fallen Golbat with its wings frozen over with a thin layer of ice. While the main body of Golbat appeared to have some frostbite covering it. Golbat struggled to stand up, but Koga withdrew it, and seeing his opponent gone, Piloswine collapsed finally.
"Gym Leader Koga withdrew Golbat! Winners are Trainer Lucas and Piloswine!" the referee says as Piloswine looks happy at his win, but is completely exhausted and in pain from the poison still. So I withdrew him right after and healed him up.
"Trainer Lucas withdrew Piloswine! Please send out your next Pokémon!" the referee says and we both send out our next Pokémon.
I toss out Primeape's Poké ball and like usual he gives out his battle cry while flexing and showing off. Right after Primeape appeared, Koga's next Pokémon appeared, with a large slimy Pokémon appearing on the battlefield. The smell of the Pokémon was horrendous and could be smelt by everyone even those in the audience. I tried not to gag while Leo grunted from the smell while glaring at the slimy Pokémon. Primeape looked ready to throw up but held back while covering his nose.
The Pokémon Koga sent out was a notorious Pokémon that lived in most city sewers and other very dirty places, like dumps. It was a Pokémon that appeared to be made entirely out of a slug-like poison, called Muk. This was the classic very well-known poison-type Pokémon and was disliked by most people.
"Begin!" the referee says once again seeing everyone ready. Though the referee appeared to be used to this smell, having dealt with it daily.
"Primeape, buff up!" I say as once again Koga seems to be whispering or talking very quietly but his Pokémon seems to hear him even from a distance.
Primeape used his usual intro moves of Leer and Focus Energy. While Primeape used his moves, Muk had a small sheen flash over its body showing it used Harden. Then it appeared to shrink a few inches in overall size, making me believe it used Minimize. Koga's Pokémon have trained on this battlefield giving them an advantage, but Primeape also grew up in a forest so he will be on equal grounds here.
"Primeape, Taunt it, and close the distance!" 'Then use Stomping Tantrum,' I say to Primeape who immediately starts sending what seems like curse words about Muk's smell.
Muk's face appeared very upset showing that the Taunt worked and canceled out its current move which was not a damaging one. Then Muk started to gather its poison energy while Primeape began jumping from tree to tree toward Muk. Just as Primeape was more than halfway to reaching Muk, Muk released a huge wave of very dark water that left a sickly slimy poison on everything it passed over.
Primeape then used his Acrobatics to launch himself into the air above the tree line doing several flips in the air. The dark water passed just under him and he landed right next to Muk who was already preparing another move. Then Primeape started stomping the ground letting his natural anger out as the ground shook. Muk cried in pain and the move was critical as Muk canceled its move, while shaking like jelly from the shock waves.
"Primeape, don't let up! Keep it up!" I say since he can end this possibly before Muk can retaliate or move.
Koga looked very annoyed now seeing Muk being cornered and unable to do anything. Though, unlike Lt. Surge, Koga withdrew Muk seeing the battle was already over from Primeape having cornered Muk keeping it stun locked.
"Gym Leader Koga withdrew Muk! Winners are Trainer Lucas and Primeape!" the referee says right after Koga took out Muk.
Primeape then stopped his move and began celebrating his victory flexing while the audience cheered him on. Then Primeape finally jumped back to his starting area. Right after he reached that area, without waiting for the referee, Koga sent out his last Pokémon for his match.
Coming out of the latest Poké ball was a large bipedal Pokémon that was surprisingly quiet after appearing. The look on its face was a calm and emotionless one as it eyed Primeape and then me. The Pokémon was a tall, very muscular, and heavily armored Pokémon. It had a dark purple body with a silvery-colored stomach, a very thick tail, large ears, and a thick large horn atop its head. This Pokémon was known as Nidoking and Koga's ace Pokémon.
'Shit,' I think to myself since Primeape will definitely lose this, I just hope he can deal some damage before getting knocked out. Plus even Leo will be at a heavy disadvantage, so even with it being damaged, there is a high chance even Leo will lose the battle.
"Begin!" the referee says seeing everyone ready for the potential last round of the match.

AN: Sorry for not posting on Saturday, just was not feeling myself that day. Also, a heads up, I won't be posting anything during these dates 12/22/2023- 01/04/2024, then I will begin posting again on the 5th. As I will be doing holiday things.
