1 Ch.1

I was your average millennial, who had a crap-paying job that could barely keep me alive while having little to no cash left for my hobbies. Hobbies like playing video games, watching the latest shows on one of the thousand different streaming services, or going out with my small friend group. My job didn't pay me enough to have any more hobbies or interests, those people that say, 'Just do this' or 'Try this' or 'You should have done this', hell the boomers saying' Back in my day' like they didn't fuck everything up for rest of us.

Just like any other day I woke up and ate the sad excuse of the breakfast that I made for myself, before heading off to my job. I went to college like everyone said to do, to only rack up student loan debt and have a job that can't even pay it off while helping me save up for a house or anything of the sort. Aside from my complaints, my life wasn't all that terrible, after going through the day of working at a design company for games and movies, as I went to school for computer science. I left to head home waiting for the bus, because why would I have a car when I could have more money to do what I want?

Once the bus arrived, I got on and took a seat waiting for my stop which was going to be around a half hour away. Putting my headphones on I played some of my favorite music on shuffle, closing my eyes to just rest as I listened to the music. I woke up to the bus shaking and people screaming, and I saw the bus driver convulsing in his seat. Without thinking I rushed to the driver's side and moved him out of the way to take control of the bus. I was able to stop the bus in time just as it broke through the Jersey barriers.

As I slammed the brakes the bus stopped before completely breaking through, though it was not a very stable stop. Since the bus was swaying back and forth just gently enough that it didn't fall off the edge just yet, everyone was at a standstill as the bus swayed, while giving each other looks of fear and worry. The sounds of distant sirens could be heard now as the emergency workers tried their best to arrive on time.

"No one moves..." one person said as everyone was standing there with fear in their eyes. With the bus slowing it's swaying down almost to a standstill.

"Fuck that!" another person said as the young man ran to the back of the bus opening the emergency exit and jumped off. As the whole bus groaned in pain swaying more now once again.

Seeing the young man make a quick escape and the bus groaning and swaying once again, everyone panicked to leave the same way the young man did. The person who spoke out earlier tried to calm everyone down but was unsuccessful as they all fought to leave. This panic and mass movement made the bus groan even louder and began to sway even more.

Many of the people made it off the bus just as it groaned one last time, with me standing by the downed driver looking at everyone in a panic. My only thought was 'At least I won't have to go to work tomorrow' as the bus finally fell off the bridge. The screams of the people who couldn't escape were the last thing I heard as I saw the dark cold water of the Schuylkill River come closer and closer into view.

For what felt like centuries all I could see was nothing but darkness, with thousands of white balls of light floating around me. Though it seems I too am one of these floating balls of light, as we all just drifted around aimlessly. Until I felt a force pulling me down into the infinite darkness below, as I fell through the darkness, I felt nothing as this whole time I felt no emotions, like I was a robot.

After being pulled for an unknown amount of time, I found myself in a room of nothing but stark white in all directions. The darkness I was in before was replaced by this endless white space. Then as I turned around, I saw another white orb, but this one was what I imagined the size of the sun would be if one could stand in front of it.

"Hello, wandering soul. I am called God, Yahweh, Allah, and many other names of the like. You have been chosen to be reincarnated. You can either choose which world or let me choose for you, though the world you just came from is not an option," the giant white orb spoke to me as if its voice came from all directions at once and in my mind.

"What can I choose from? Will I have my past life's memories? Will I get to choose anything else?" I ask the orb as I think about this logically and notice that my emotions are coming back to me now that I am no longer in an endless darkness.

"You can choose any world you can think of, all the past fictions from your old life are realities you can choose from. However, they may not be exactly the same as the fiction from your old life. Depending on the world you choose, I might allow you some other choices," God says to me as I begin to think about this.

"Then I would love to go to the world of Pokémon... What else can I choose?" I say to God and ask with a somewhat hopeful voice at all the things I could ask.

"Interesting choice... I will allow you to choose one Pokémon as your starter and I will guarantee it to have a very good potential. No legendary Pokémon for your starter though. You can also choose what time you'd like to be born in. That is all I will allow you to choose," God says to me and I become saddened hearing this, but I can't argue for obvious reasons.

"Understandable... I would like to be born a generation before Ash Ketchum. As for my starter, I want--" I say to God extremely excited for my new life to begin. Everything turned to a flashing light before I woke up in my new life.

AN: I won't tell you what Pokémon is going to be his starter. However, I am curious as to what you all think it will be. However if someone guesses it right on the first guess, then I will confirm it. Also, there are several aux chapters I suggest you read for more information about this fanfic and Pokémon world.
