Making my way to Professor Oak's lab while carrying the injured Charmander in a piggyback ride, I walked for about 5 more minutes before finally arriving at the center of Pallet Town where Professor Oak's Laboratory is located.
Walking up the small stairs, I found myself in front of a door to which I rang the bell and waited for 1 minute.
The door was opened by Professor Oak himself, who looked at me with a friendly smile.
"Oh, if it isn't Izana and... an injured Charmander?" Oak looked at the Charmander as he said that and then glanced at me.
"Professor Oak! Can you help him?" I said, pointing to my back where the Charmander lay sleeping.
"Of course I can! Come in. Let's take him to the second floor," he said, leading the way upstairs while I quietly followed, still carrying the injured Charmander.
After arriving at the second floor, Prof. Oak turned to me and said, "You should put that Charmander on that table!"
He pointed at a nearby table, and I complied, placing Charmander on it.
Then Prof. Oak started to administer potions and apply medicine to Charmander's injuries.
...
(After 23 minutes)
Finally, after 23 minutes, Professor Oak did all he could, and we left the sleeping Charmander to continue resting since he was exhausted.
On the first floor, there were 4 or 5 assistants of Professor Oak doing their usual jobs of researching, taking care of the ranch, and other tasks.
In the couch, there were two people sitting opposite each other as Izana looked at Prof. Oak, who also looked at Izumi with one eyebrow raised.
"Is there something you have to tell me?" Oak broke the silence, questioning the hesitant Izana.
"Uh, I heard that you hold a Pokémon summer camp every decade!?"
"Yeah! I hold a Pokémon summer camp every once in a decade and!?" Oak looked at Izumi with confusion as to why he asked such a question.
"Uh, I heard that you're also organizing the Pokémon summer camp this weekend." Izana asked Oak, still unsure if he should get to the point or not.
"Yeah! I'm holding it this weekend," Prof. Oak said, still confused.
"Uh, I was wondering if I could also come!" Finally, Izana mustered up the courage and got straight to the point.
Hearing what Izana said, Prof. Oak burst out laughing loudly, finding it funny.
"Uh, why are you laughing?" Izana asked him in confusion this time.
"Hahaha! You didn't have to ask for it. I have already sent an invitation for you to your mother this morning," he said, finally stopping laughing.
'Urgh! I thought I wouldn't get invited to the summer camp, and that's why I asked him, mustering up every bit of courage, but it was all for nothing,' Izana thought in frustration.
"Sigh! It seems all my worries were for nothing," Izana said with a sigh as Prof. Oak looked at Izana and said.
"Okay then! Now let's head to the second floor. I'm sure Charmander has already woken up!" Prof. Oak said, walking toward the second floor, followed by Izana.
When they reached the second floor, Izana and Prof. Oak saw Charmander looking around warily.
"Look! Didn't I say that he's already woken up!" Prof. Oak said, pointing at the wary Charmander.
As soon as he saw Izana, Charmander started to run toward him and hid behind him, looking at Prof. Oak warily.
Prof. Oak then came forward and bent a little as he smiled friendly and said, "Little Charmander! You don't need to be afraid of me. I won't do anything to you."
Said Prof. Oak with a friendly smile as Charmander still hid behind Izana, who chuckled seeing this but said nothing.
"It seems Charmander's really scared of people! I have a bold guess, and that is that this Charmander must have been thrown out by his previous trainer, and since you saved him, he only trusts you," Prof. Oak analyzed all the dots and said as Charmander, who heard him, shrieked a little, agreeing with him.
"It seems I was right! Haha," Prof. Oak said with a little laugh as he turned toward Izana and said.
"How about it? You can take care of Charmander. Think of him as your starter Pokémon!" Prof. Oak said with his one eye closed.
"Really? Can I really take care of him and make him my own Pokémon?" Izana said with excitement as in his previous life, Izana loved Charizard the most out of all three starters of Kanto and was determined to take Charmander, who would have thought he would get a Charmander so soon.
"Of course! Here, a Pokéball! You can take care of him and make him your Pokémon if he agrees!" Prof. Oak said as he handed Izumi a Pokéball and then said as he pointed his finger toward Charmand
er.
Then Izumi turned to look at Charmander, who also looked at him as Izana said, "How about it Charmander? Will you become my friend/Pokémon? I promise to treat you well and train you. We can both go on a journey to explore the world and become the Pokémon master! (Only when I'm allowed to)" he said the last part silently so no one heard.
Charmander, hearing this, looked at Izana and then slowly but surely, Charmander came forward in front of Izana and said,
"Charrr Charmander!" It said as he nodded its small head as Izana smiled at this and touched the Charmander's little forehead with it as a red streak of light came and caught the Charmander with little to no effort due to Charmander not resisting.

A/N: Finally, Izana got himself a starter Pokémon. Well, I have to tell you this, but I adjusted a little and made it so only trainers who have turned 18 years old can go on a journey, as I don't want to write a fic of a 10-year-old kid going around on a journey filled with monsters and having s**.
