Chapter 25: Serena Return Back home

On my way from the Cerulean Gym, I couldn't help but think, 'It was too easy for me... the Cerulean Gym must be the easiest gym to beat in the whole Kanto region...'
While I was so engrossed in my own world, I didn't notice when I reached the Pokémon Centre.
So, I entered the Pokémon Centre and then headed straight to the counter where Nurse Joy was standing.
"Hello! Can you please heal all my Pokémon and let them play for a while?" I said as I reached for my Pokébelt where all my Pokéballs were, and then I handed the 2 Pokéballs to Nurse Joy, who answered while smiling brightly.
"Okay~" She said as she then took the Pokéballs and placed them into the Pokéball trolley, then headed inside to heal the Pokémon.
And as I was about to go upstairs to see if Serena returned or not, I heard her voice from the PC booth behind the counter.
"WHAT! Wait, I'll come back home right now!!" Shouted Serena in a worried and emotional tone.
Hearing this, I quickly made my way toward her and saw her on the verge of crying.
"What happened? Why are you crying? Tell me!" I said as I walked near her in a hurry and hugged her.
"M-my mother... she is in critical condition. I just got news saying that my mother had a car accident, and right now, she's in the ICU!" She replied while crying.
"It's okay, please don't cry. She'll be fine..." I said, saying whatever I thought to be effective in this situation.
And it worked, as she slowly stopped crying and then looked at me and said, "I'll go back home... to take care of my mother."
She said with a determined face like she had made up her mind as she said this to me.
"Sigh, then I'll also go with you!" I said with a sigh.
"No, you can't! If you miss the Indigo League just because of me, I'll feel really guilty..." She said with a low voice at the end.
"But still–" I tried to say more, but she interrupted me.
"No means no, if you continue this, I'll really feel guilty!" She said with her head down.
"Sigh, okay! At least I'll drop you off at the Cerulean Airport," I said with a heavy sigh as she accepted it.
Oh god, if I keep sighing all the time like this, I might get wrinkles on my face...
And after that, she booked a ticket to the Kalos region online. She bought the ticket that would head to Kalos as soon as possible, so she booked a flight that was 3 hours ahead from now.
And then she started to pack all her things in a suitcase. It wasn't that much, but I still helped her pack her things.
It took us an hour to pack all the things, and after that, we ordered a cab to take us directly to the airport.
We didn't have to wait for much, as the cab came quickly, about 5 minutes.
Then we headed to the airport, where I still tried to comfort her as she was really in a rush and worried about her mother.
The flight was set to take off in 1 hour, and doing the check-ups of her things and etc took most of the time, and finally, after some time, it was time for her to leave.
"Don't worry too much about my health, okay! And make sure to win the league!" She said with a forced smile as she clenched her fist and shot it in the air.
"I'll win! And you should also take care of your mother and your health too. I don't wanna see a wrinkled Serena the next time I see you..." I said as I joked to lighten up the mood.
"Haha, okay then I'll go now, otherwise, I'll miss the flight," she said as she headed to her plane and I also headed outside of the airport since I had nothing to do here.
I go back to the Pokémon Centre and rested there for some time before going to the PC booth beside the counter of Nurse Joy and I called my father.
"Hello! Who am I speaking to?" Came a hoarse and deep voice from the other side of the phone.
"Yo father! It's me, your son, Izana! Did you forget about me so soon?" I said with a small smile as I looked at the screen where my father's face was.
"Hahaha, so, it's you! How come you remember to call your old man today?" He said with a small laugh.
"Actually, I'm in Cerulean City right now and... I need some money to buy necessities for my journey since I don't have any money left," I said with awkwardness as I didn't have much contact with my father as he was too busy with his work.
"Okay, I'll send you 100k PokéDollars, spend it wisely," he said as we then talked a bit about my experience in my journey, about my badges and etc.
Then I hung up the call and headed outside to a Pokémart that was near the Pokémon Centre.
"Welcome! How may I help you?" A middle-aged man said with a businessman's smile.
"I need 5 Luxury Balls," I started to tell him what I need as he noted it down.
"Okay sir, is that all you need?" He said, still maintaining the smile.
"Yeah, that's all for now!" I said as he then walked to a shelf and took out all the things I needed, and I paid the bill.
It was about 50k PokéDollars and that's how I spent the money my father sent me...
After that, I headed back to the Pokémon Centre where I took back my Pokémon and then packed my bag before heading to Route 5, where the underground path is that will take me straight to Vermillion City for my 3rd badge.
