22 Chapter 22: Fossils

After getting Blissey on the team, we made our way to Mt. Moon for the second time.

On our way to Mt. Moon, we didn't meet any trainers we had already defeated.

"Ha, ha! Being a trainer sure is hard! You gotta walk all damn day! Fuck, I should find a way to get a car or maybe a bike; that way, the traveling will at least be easier!" I complained as my legs were screaming in pain.

Hearing my complaint, Serena, who was walking beside me, chuckled as I turned to her.

"Why are you laughing? And aren't you tired too?" I questioned her, giving her a strange look.

"Yes, I'm also tired, but because of running from my mother's Rhyhorn since childhood, my stamina is great and I can continue to walk slowly like this for hours," she said with a proud smile.

"I also trained and exercised a lot, and I can proudly say that my stamina is something not to scoff at, but even with that, it's tiring, you know, mentally and physically!" I said with my tone slightly raised as I was really annoyed.

Serena giggled at me as we continued to walk through the mountainous road that was getting higher the more we walked.

And finally, after 45 minutes of walking, we finally reached the entrance of Mt. Moon.

"Woah! The entrance is huge!" Serena said with amazement evident in her tone.

"Yeah! It sure is! We should be careful and take out our Pokémon. Who knows how many Zubat, Geodude, and other Pokémon there are inside, and they can attack us," I advised her as she agreed with me and took out her Froakie, and I called out my Charizard.

"Well, guys, we're now going inside Mt. Moon, and there may be hostile Pokémon inside, and we need your protection," I said to the two Pokémon, who nodded their heads and shouted their own language.

"Grrrrrrrr," shouted Charizard with his arms stretched out.

"Froakiiiiiii," shouted Froakie as he did some moves that only he knows the name of.

"Then, let's head inside!" I said with my tone slightly raised as they all nodded their heads, and then we headed inside Mt. Moon.

Inside Mt. Moon, the walls were glowing with shiny crystals, and the ceiling was filled with pointy rocks, and there were sounds of water dripping from the ceiling all the time.

As we walked through Mt. Moon, because of how huge the cave was, we lost our way a couple of times, but we managed to find the right way.

And we were also attacked a lot of times by a horde of Zubat, but they were dealt with quickly with just Charizard's Flamethrower.

But after we dealt with the horde of Zubat, a Geodude and Onix also came at us.

"Froakie! Bubble Beam!" Serena said as she quickly told Froakie to attack Onix and Geodude.

As they both were Rock and Ground types, Froakie was able to one-shot both of them, and after that battle, Froakie's whole body started to glow in a white color.

"Froakie is evolving!" I said as Serena nodded her head, and I, Charizard, and Serena watched him evolving.

His body that was glowing intensely started to grow in size as his arms became bigger and his white fringed collar became longer as his whole appearance changed in the evolution.

"Frogadierrrr," shouted the newly evolved Frogadier as soon as his evolution was completed as he then came toward Serena.

"Wow, he looks so strong now!" Serena commented after seeing Frogadier as Frogadier humped in pride in his newfound strength.

I then took out my Pokédex and pointed it toward Frogadier.

"Frogadier, the Bubble Frog Pokémon. It evolves from Froakie and evolves into Greninja. It is known for its exceptional speed and agility, using its powerful legs to leap and scale walls effortlessly. Frogadier can also generate bubbles on its chest and back, which it launches as projectiles with incredible accuracy," the Pokédex's emotionless voice echoed through the cave.

After a while of testing out Frogadier's newfound moves, we started to make our way to the exit.

And after a while of walking through the cave, we found the exit of Mt. Moon, but we also found 2 peculiar stones lying on the ground.

One has the shape of a snail shell on it, and the other one has a bulge shape like a ladybug.

"Aren't they the Helix and Dome Fossils? It seems lady luck is on our side," I said as I laughed and then walked toward the fossils and grabbed both of them.

"Are they really fossils?" The clueless Serena said as she looked at the Dome Fossil.

"Yeah, they are. I read about them in the library of Professor Oak!" I said as I gave the Helix Fossil to Serena.

"Well, since there are two of them, let's share it," I said as I gave her the Helix Fossil.

"No, no! You found them. How can I be so shameless as to take one!" She denied it.

"Well, we both found it so you can have it!" I said as I pressured her to take it.

"Who knows, we might be able to meet the perfect guy who can revive these Pokémon!" I said with a smile.

And the reason I don't want them both is that after reviving, they both will be the Pokémon with the same type.

And as we were about to go out of the Cave, we heard a shout.

"Hold it right there!" said a skinny guy wearing glasses with long black hair.

"Huh, who are you?" I said as I turned toward him.

"I'm a super nerd, and those fossils are mine! I found them first!" He said.

"What proof do you have that you found it first? I remember that I didn't see anyone when I found it!" I said with a smile.

"Because I couldn't take them with me considering my skinny body, I was just going to get a carrier," He said with anger in his tone.

"Hoho, why should I believe you? Just scram. These are something I found. Go find another one," I said as I was annoyed.

"Then let's battle! Whoever wins will be the one to take them!" He said as he took out a Pokéball from his Pokébelt.

"Well then! Let me see if you're capable of taking this away from me. How many Pokémon?" I said with a smile as I love to solve things with battle.

"Two," He said, and then he threw the Pokéball in the air as streaks of red light came from it.

I didn't throw out any Pokéballs since my Charizard was with me, so I just called Charizard from Serena's side.

Seeing Charizard, his eyes reflected fear, but it seems he suppressed it as he seemed determined.

'Sorry nerdy guy, but I can't hand over these fossils,' I thought as I smiled.
