41 Ch.41

"Well, tomorrow night's dual family dinner is going to be very awkward," I say once Eric and I go back to comfortable silence after he explains his family situation. 

"No more awkward then if Maya and I went home to have a winter break with our Dad," Eric says with a laugh as we both get up and head back to the Dunphy's cabin. 

Walking inside I see Clarie, Phil, Mitchell, and Cam are talking most likely discussing what just happened with Haley. While Jay is watching his youngest son, Joe, Lily is helping too. We don't see Gloria anywhere, so I can only assume she is talking with my mom at my family's cabin. 

"Shit, guess we chose the wrong cabin," I say to Eric seeing no one is here we want to talk with, however, before we can escape Phil and the others see us. 

"Gabe! Eric! My two bros!" Phil says, walking over to us, giving us both fist bumps, and trying to act 'cool'. 

"Hey Phil, did Alex and the others come back?" I say hoping they maybe did. 

"Yeah, Alex, Maya, and Haley are upstairs in Haley's room. Though, it seems they've been talking up there for a while now. How'd things go with Carlos?" Phil says as Claire, Cam, and Mitchell are listening in with interest. 

"He… he is conflicted and thinking about things," I say since I'm not sure what way Carlos will go with this. 

"Yeah, I can understand that… I kinda feel responsible since I decided to help Andy with learning to be a realtor. That gave him and Haley time to become closer," Phil says as I just give him a conflict. 

"You aren't to blame, they are adults and made their own decision," I say to Phil who just sighs but nods his head hearing me. 

"Gabes right, Haley is a big girl and can make her own choices, no matter how bad they are," Mitchell says nodding his head and hearing me. 

"Mitch! Haley is just young and confused, her feelings are all over the place! Plus we all know we made mistakes when we were her age," Cam says defending Haley's bad choices. 

"Mitch is right Cam, Haley needs to learn to grow up and make better choices," Clarie says agreeing with Mitch for once, as Cam rolls his eyes. 

"You are one to talk, I remember all the choices you made when you were Haley's age," Jay says walking over as Joe and Lily are both on their devices distracted for now. 

"I was nowhere near as bad as she is!" Claire says getting defensive at her father's statement. 

"Let's get outta here," I whisper to Eric as they all begin to argue once again about the latest drama taking place. 

Eric and I successfully sneak away upstairs to where Haley is staying while here. As we walk up to the door, I hear the three young women talking. So, I give a quick knock on the door and hear an immediate response. 

"Mom, go away!" Haley says immediately hearing the knock and assuming it is her mother. 

'I can understand the assumption,' I think to myself knowing Claire is the most nosy person alive, at least for anyone I know. 

"It's Gabe and Eric," I say clarifying that it is not her mother. 

"Gabe, Eric, come in!" Alex says before Haley can respond and we both enter to see Haley still very upset. Haley looked to be crying a lot since her eyes are red and puffy, while Alex is trying to placate her and Maya is awkwardly a part of this. 

"So, any new thoughts about the situation?" I say after we walk in and close the door again. Haley looks like someone slapped her at my statement, while Alex just shakes her head. 

With a heavy sigh, I sit down on the small couch in the room next to Maya and Eric sits next to me. Alex and Haley are on the bed with Haley trying to hide it seems under the covers of the bed. 

"Haley, you made a mistake. Not a small one either, you've been leading both of them on. Sure one is in a serious relationship, which is a whole nother mess on its own, but you need to talk with Carlos. Though from our last talk, I'm sure where he stands," I say to Haley who just winces hearing my straightforward statement. 

"I know I messed up!!... But I have no idea where to start to fix it…," Haley says looking depressed again, while I roll my eyes at her stupidity. 

"I just told you. Go talk with Carlos, and what you two talk about will give you a definite answer for the two of you. He deserves to talk with you first, as Andy is in a serious relationship and needs to think about his current issue there," I say to Haley now making Eric and Maya realize that Haley is not a good person. 

Haley not only is being a 'house wrecker' by helping Andy cheat on his fiancee, who may or may not have cheated on him already like in the show. But Haley has also started going out with Carlos whom she cheated on too. So the twins now can understand just how much Haley fucked up here and ruined two relationships she has. 

"What do I even say?!" Haley says full panic now, making me twitch my eye at her wanting to push this off or delay it longer. 

"Haley! Seriously?! You are a full adult and need to act like one! Just go and fucking talk to him! Say you are sorry and then discuss it from there!" Alex says with a very annoyed face and having had enough of Haley's shit now too it seems. 

'Damn, note to self never piss off Alex,' I think seeing Alex finally lose her cool with her sister. Not that she hasn't before, but Alex hasn't lost her cool in a while ever since we started dating. So seeing Alex snap was both terrifying and hot, I had two very conflicting emotions right now seeing her. 

"Fine!!" Haley says getting up and stomping off and we all watch her leave. 

Alex just sighs seeing her act like a kid, while I'm thinking of certain thoughts as I'm looking at Alex. Maya looks ready to go run and hide somewhere, while Eric has a shit-eating grin on his face enjoying the drama. 

"What?" Alex says seeing me looking at her. 

"Uhm… Nothing," I say looking like a deer in headlights being caught with my degenerate thoughts in my mind. 

Alex and Maya's faces both go red now realizing what I was just thinking about. Alex then looked ready to smack me and Maya looked away embarrassed. While Eric is snickering next to me and laughs seeing Alex's angered look. 

"Careful, he might just bust a nut right here and now," Eric says seeing Alex's look, making Maya ready to die. Now Alex looks at Eric with a 'wtf' face and I laugh hearing him. 

"Jesus fucking Christ, you two are ridiculous!" Alex says getting up and following Haley as Maya scrambles after her. 

"So… Alex is a dominatrix? Or are you two just into BDSM?" Eric says as they leave and we get up to follow too. 

"Shut the fuck up," I say with a chuckle as we follow after them. 

As we come downstairs, we see the whole family with Alex and Maya looking outside the window. Outside the cabin a few dozen feet away are Haley and Carlos talking. Everyone is very obviously watching this, but thankfully has the tact to not go outside to hear it too. 

We all stand there for about half an hour with small comments from everyone about what they think is happening. Finally, the two outside, seem to finish having their talk and do a small hug before Carlos walks away back to our cabin. Then Haley comes back to this one with a sad look on her face and appears ready to cry again. 

Haley opens the door and we all turn to see her come inside. It seems she just realized we all were watching her from inside. Her face has mixed emotions flash across it, then she breaks down crying as everyone runs over to comfort her. Though Alex, me, and the twins don't walk over since we already talked with Haley. 

"I'm gonna go back to our cabin and talk with Carlos. You two staying here?" I say seeing Claire hugging a crying Haley as the rest of the family is bombarding her with questions. 

"We'll come with you guys. I've had enough of my family's drama for today," Alex says as we all walk back to my family's cabin. 

"Is everything over?" we all hear Luke say as he and Manny are walking back from wherever it was they went too. 

"Yeah, though Haley is very upset," Alex says as we all stop to talk with them. 

"Whatever, as long as it is over," Luke says walking past us with Manny as they head back to their cabin. 

Getting back to our cabin, we see Carlos talking with his Dad, my Dad, and our Grandfather. Then as we walk over to talk with them, we all stop as we hear another car pull up to the cabin. Looking over we see my Dad's sister and my Aunt who rarely comes to family gatherings appear. She pulled up in her fancy BMW M8 with all the bells and whistles of the car. 

"Who is that milf?" I hear Eric say as I look over to him with a deadpan look. 

"My Dad's sister and my Aunt," I say to Eric who just nods his head still checking her out. 

"Hey guys! Gabe! Alex!" Aunt Susan says to the guys on the porch talking, then spots me and Alex. She walks over to our group first hugging Alex and me, then looks at the twins with a curious face. 

"These are our friends from Harvard. This is Eric and Maya Anderson," I say to Susan who nods her head greeting them as well. 

"Nice to meet you both," Susan says shaking both their hands. 

"Thought you'd not come," Dad says walking over and hugging his sister who returns the hug. The rest of my family comes down right after to greet Susan. 

"I decided to take some time off from work for once," Susan says hugging the rest of the guys who came down to greet her. 

"Susan!" I hear my Mom says as she and everyone else come outside and walk over to greet her. Gloria is there too and greets Susan, though I can see she is eyeing Carlos with a curious look. Gloria wants to know what happened between him and Haley. 

All the older adults walk back inside and talk with Susan, Carlos, Alex, me, and the twins hang back to talk. Once the others are inside Carlos sighs and sits down on the porch as we all take a seat somewhere too. 

"So…" I say as Carlos sighs before talking. 

"So, I decided that Haley and I should stop seeing one another. I couldn't look past her doing what she did. I knew that even if I tried I would resent her one day because of it," Carlos says to us.

We all just nod our heads hearing him, no one says anything else since we have discussed this drama enough. Then we all entered the house and talked with everyone else who was speaking with Susan. Susan was currently holding Olivia in her lap, as everyone talked with her. 

The first day of these long two weeks ended just like that, with tomorrow's dual family dinner hovering over our heads. Alex and I went to bed cuddling as we thought about the potential drama for tomorrow. We both just sighed and enjoyed each other's company before quickly falling asleep.
