Chapter 1: Starting Out (V1)

A.N: I'm so frustrated. I was done with the chapter but I accidentally clicked out and I didn't save it. I hate myself.

After getting teleported, I got thrown out from a portal and headed straight for the ground at rapid speeds. I, like any other person in this situation, started to panic. But the pain I expected never came, and it felt like I had just jumped and landed on my butt. I opened my eyes and saw that I didn't lose any health, so I breathed a sigh of relief.

I looked around and... wow. I can't even begin to describe how amazing the graphics were. The closest thing I got to this was with Distant Horizons 2.0 and Iris Shaders, but this was ten times better. From what he could see, he was located in a decently sized clearing scattered with oak trees with a river running through it surrounded by a large dark oak forest and surrounded by some tall mountains that probably went to the vanilla build limit. The mountains blocked everything outside, but there were two openings (where the river entered and exit), which showed that there was an even larger dark oak forest outside of the place.

I looked down and... my body was WAY different. I had been gaining some weight recently, but now his body was somewhat thin but still muscular, so much so that it bulged out of his light blue shirt. I imagined that I was in F5 and now he was. It allowed me to gain a whole new perspective which proved his suspicions that he had the skin of Minecraft Steve. However, I had always preferred to use his own skin; a knight skin that looked extremely similar to the man, the myth, the legend, PopularMMOs. So I asked my new friend for a favor.

'Hey Goddess, or whatever you name is. Can you give me my knight skin? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.' He said in his mind. Although I wasn't sure if she would or if she could even respond, judging from the fact that she could see into the future and even reincarnate me in the first place, she probably would. And she did.

'My name is something that mortals can't comprehend like Lovecraftian horrors, so just call me Dea. Anyways, in a few seconds a personal system will boot up which will contain a starter pack for you. Yes, it includes the knight skin and the actual armor that it is made out of.'

I had just received a bombshell, no two, no three actually. She was as old as time and he would get a system? That would be really useful. And it came with a starter pack? After thinking about it, I should have asked for his GregTech skin (sci-fi version of the knight one), but he promised himself years ago that he would never touch GregTech or any overcomplicated technology mods for that matter. I also heard another reply in my mind.

'HEY! I'm not that old, I was born AFTER what you would call the Primordial Era. I am a third-generation god. And if you're wondering; my domain is that of the afterlife.' She replied with a hint of what I guessed was embarrassment.

'Sorry for that. ANYWAYS, where is i- oh I see it,' I was cut off as I saw a transparent blue interface suddenly appear in front of me. It read 'LOADING' and below it a bar with the words '1/100%'. It continued to go up, abruptly stopping at 69 ("Nice." I said with a chuckle) before reaching 100. It had a cool effect where it went down and then went back up again. And then I heard a robotic voice.

"Welcome to the 'Minecraft System' host. Please allow me to implant myself into your brain to fully connect with the host. What will I refer to you as and what will you refer to me as?"

"Yes, yes, I get it. I will refer to you as... ah, Andromeda. Please use a feminine voice because it would be really weird if someone called Andromeda has a manly voice. And please refer to me as Alex." I replied with an impatient voice.

"Thanks, Alex. Would you like to accept the 'Starter Pa-" I didn't wait for Andromeda to finish as I press 'Yes'.

That was a lot for a 'simple' starter pack. The 'Pain Tolerance' ability was made just for me since I hate pain. But having played modded Minecraft since 1.3, I knew this was NOTHING compared to all of the other stuff I would get later. I pressed 'Accept' and the main interface of the system appeared. A small part of the left side was some options, such as 'Stats' and 'Shop'. The left side displayed what I was currently selecting, which was the 'Stats' tab.

Note: Effects and bonuses will be included after base stats. Bonuses will be included first and then effects.

From my time reading LitRPG's and playing Hypixel Skyblock, these were some decent stats for just starting out. There were also some other tabs, which I checked out. 'Shop' was self-explanatory. It sold a variety of things, such as unique trades (like the Wandering Trader), blocks and items, stat points, abilities, recipes,... and so much more. I probably spent a few minutes just scrolling through the catalogue.

There were some other tabs, but one caught my eye instantly. 'Entertainment' allowed me to access the internet in my former life with INSANE speeds and no restrictions. But I didn't want to get too lost into that right now, so I assembled a playlist of my favorite songs on YouTube and got to work. Before that though, I checked the time, and it was 6:30, meaning 30 minutes had passed since I arrived here.

I was wearing some heavy armor, but due to my nearly superhuman strength, it felt like nothing. I sprint jumped to the closest tree to spawn and began to chop it down. But instead of breaking the second-closest log like I always do, I chopped down the base and the thing I expected to happen happened.

The tree fell down like a real tree actually wood (haha very funny), right in my direction. I was almost caught off guard, but my agility barely saved me from certain death. Yes I could respawn, but after breathing a sigh of relief, I realized I hadn't even turned on my 'Pain Tolerance' ability, so I changed it to 1%, which felt like a shock.

When the tree hit the ground, the tree disappeared and in it's place appeared some items that you would expect from a tree. I went over there and picked everything up, which were twelve oak logs and some apples, sticks and saplings. Instead of throwing away the saplings like any normal person would, I instead ran all over the place placing them around since the clearing had very few oak trees.

I chopped down some more before digging down to get cobblestone to make a furnace. After that, I made a furnace and a butcher's knife (you'll see why later) and began to run all over the place, looking for some mobs to kill. Unlike vanilla, animals gave a realistic amount of meat, which meant that he would only need to find some animals to get food for literal days.

I quickly found a herd of cows and quickly killed all of them so they didn't feel any pain. He also left the single baby cow alone. I laid the cows' bodies on the floor before cutting up them to get some meat. I wasn't exactly a good butcher, but since this was Minecraft, all of the meat was safely recovered with just a click. Just from 5 cows, he had almost four stacks of beef!

I continued to look around for some more sheep and animals in general for their meat and secondary loot. I found a herd of sheep, which he killed for their wool. Then a deer, which I also killed. His inventory was starting to get full, so I went back to base and smelt everything.

Ie went to the dark oak forest to collect some wood for fuel to smelt the meet, which there were a lot of. Since dark oak trees were so big, I was easily able to collect a lot of wood for fuel. And then...

"AHH!" I heard a woosh and then felt a slight shock in my leg. I turned around and saw a skeleton holding a bow was disgusted. Skeletons in normal Minecraft looked cartoonish, but this skeleton was that of a realistic human body's skeleton. I charged at the skeleton with all of my might, blocking on of it's arrows with my shield before tackling it like a(n) (American) football player and it crumbled into a thousand pieces.

I had lost some hearts, so I ate a piece of bread and continued to chop down some trees until I had more than enough wood to use as fuel. I came back to base, crafted some more furnaces and smelted all of the meat. Now I wanted to get some diamonds for some better armor... and tools too.
