Shade Slayer & Competition?

"Hmm. It looks like the boy and Arya are leaving the battlefield together. Let's see what they're up to." I said as we shadowed their movements.

While being invisible and soundless, I followed the boy and Arya to a room with a giant crystal ceiling. Moments after they arrive the floor collapsed, revealing the Shade accompanied by a hundred Urgals.

Stepping out, the Shade looks around for a moment before noticing both Arya and Eragon.

"Ahh. I'm so glad we were able to meet again young Rider. Any you elf, you left without saying goodbye, last we saw each other." the Shade said.

"Don't worry. I wouldn't dream of being so rude to my guests." I said as I dropped my spells and stepped forward. "So why do you just stay here forever?" I asked as I drew my blades.

"You, who are you?" Durza asked.

"Me? I am Evanyar Sianilo. And I owe you a debt of pain." I said as I slowly walked forward.

"Arya, do you know him?" Eragon asked.

"He's my husband." Arya answered with a dazzling smile.

"HUSBAND?! You never said you were married!" Eragon said, clearly upset.

"You never asked. Besides, my business is my own." Arya responded without taking her eyes off me.

"Oh. I see now. I'll take great pleasure in torturing you in front of your wife." Durza said with a sadistic smile.

"You talk to much. If you think you can, attack me." I said as I was growing bored of all the talk.

Durza charged at me with a strike at my arm, clearly trying to cut it off. Just before the sword hit I heard a cry from behind me.

Lifting my sword at the last second, the strike was stopped with Durza still in the air.

"You are so slow." I said as I slide my other blade into Durzas heart.

Three balls of light flew out of his body and flew away as Durza fell to the ground where his body scattered into particles of dark grey light.

"Well that was boring." I said as I sheathed my blades and turned around to face the duo.

"I expected nothing less from my husband. You truly have grown powerful." Arya said as she skipped up to me and jumped into my arms.

"I have missed you my little fairy. Stay here with Ēborisk while I go have some fun destroying the army." I said with a smirk.

Letting Arya down, I took off at a sprint that only Ēborisk could see.

"Where did he go?" Eragon shouted.

"He went to go kill the Urgals. The battle will be over shortly." Arya said.

"I thought I was the only Rider besides Galbatorix. Where have they all been hiding? Why have they not helped in the fight against him?" Eragon started shooting out questions while getting angry.

"You are not qualified to hear the answers to these questions." Arya answered plainly.

"What do you..." Eragon started to ask before Ēborisk replied.

'You are not a true Rider yet. Until your training is complete, you are not at the level we approve of you hearing the answers to those questions. Now, let's go see what my Rider is going to do. I'm sure you don't want to miss this.' Ēborisk said.

"Who do you think you are to order me around?!" Eragon shouted.

'You have clearly spent to much time around the humans. I'll give it to you straight. You. Are. Weak. If you can not defeat Arya in a one on one fight without her Dragon, what can you do against her WITH her Dragon?' Ēborisk asked without turning around.

"I need answers." Eragon insisted.

Stopping and slowly turning around, Ēborisk just stared at Eragon. This caused Saphira to slowly wrap her tail around Eragon in a protective gesture.

'Even your Dragon is trying to save your life right now, youngling. What does that tell you? She isn't defending your words, only your body. You are still a trainee Dragon and Rider. I am not a part of the humans that will tell you you are meant for greatness and are our savior. My Rider is stronger than even myself. How would you fare against your Dragon?' Ēborisk asked as he resumed his walk outside.

Arya jumped on Allium's saddle while saying "I advise you to come see what real strength is." Then Allium walked beside her mate and enjoyed having her Rider back.

...

Arriving at the battlefield, I flew into the air above the Urgal army. 'Are you ready to see what you can do with magic?' I asked every Dragon and Rider.

In response, all Riders mounted their Dragons before joining Ēborisk on the cliff above the fight.

'Here's a neat way to get around most Wards on enemy opponents.' I said before clearing my throat.

"Jörðin verða að stígvélum á Urgals fótunum, lyftu stígvélunum hundrað fet upp í loftið, mölvaðu stígvélin aftur til jarðar. (Earth become boots on the Urgals feet, raise the boots one hundred feet into the air, smash the boots back to the ground.)"

The visual effect of seeing an army fly into the air, feet first was truly awe-inspiring. But when they all slammed back to the ground, that was terrifying. The Urgals were no longer recognizable as anything more than meat paste.

Ēborisk took flight with a terrifying roar as I had used nearly all my energy. 'Maybe I should have canceled my passive spells before we got here.' I told Ēborisk as I climbed into his saddle.

'Yes, but they're passive for a reason. At least you had me here as a backup if you needed me.' Ēborisk responded.

Flashback

Three years ago

"Alright, this spell I'd to exhausting to turn on when I'm full of energy and turn off when I'm almost empty. Maybe I should set it to a passive spell?" I asked Ēborisk.

'So long as you don't keep yourself drained, it is the best option.' Ēborisk assured me.

"Very well. I'll make it to where it's active while I'm above ninety eight percent energy. That means I'm always growing my reserves, even while sleeping. But if something happens I'm still nearly full. At our level two percent is alot to anyone else." I thought out loud.

'So long as it works.' was the only response I got.

...

Landing near Arya Ēborisk lay down with Allium, leaving a "clearing" in between them for Arya and myself. Allium, although smaller than Ēborisk, was larger than the other Dragons thanks to Arya knowing the growth spells, even when she lay down. This allowed Arya and I some privacy to talk and, well you don't need to know the rest.
