49 Returning

[Present, Blanche HQ]

Sitting on the bed, Alaukik was staring blankly at the wall, having just fully learned what happened to Divya.

'She had to face a lot huh - but the point is that none of what I saw is useful to me. I was hoping I could find some way to bring her back to her normal self, but seeing what Blanche did to her has just made me sure that there is no way for me to turn her normal again… Think Alaukik, think! Is there someone you know who can influence the min- Lalita! She can control people can't she! There could be a chance that she might bring back Divya! Yes, that's it!'

Finalising the plan, Alaukik immediately got up and walked to Divya: still on the chair, blankly staring ahead into nothingness. Grabbing hold of her hand, all Alaukik said was

"I'm taking you away from here - but don't misunderstand, it's not out of the kindness in my heart that I'm saving you, but because I need you."

Closing his eyes, Alaukik allowed his senses to once again feel the fabric of space he had gotten so used to, and suddenly,

/swish/

[A forest in the southeast of the Federation]

In the middle of a vast forest, two people suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

"Oh, we're here? I thought it would take a few more seconds considering how far I was goin- wait, where is this?" questioned the boy, while the girl simply stood still.

Looking around, Alaukik tried to figure out where he was.

'I'm sure I chose the Parliament to teleport to, so why did I end up in the middle of a random forest? Don't tell me-' but before he could complete that thought, Alaukik's mind suddenly went blank, and he lost all consciousness.

-------

Suddenly regaining consciousness, Alaukik immediately spread his domain and opened his eyes to understand what the hell had just happened. Sensing the area within a 1000 km of him, Alaukik's brain froze for a second, before realising what he was seeing was indeed true.

"NOOO! NO-NO-NO-NO! Not again! WHY?! Five minutes! I lost consciousness for an entire five minutes! Even after OG died! This doesn't make sense! I am in perfect control of my powers, so why the hell is there destruction all around me?" he screamed, seeing the destruction all around.

In a 100 km wide square surrounding Alaukik, all one could see was death. What was a lush, green forest five minutes ago was now a land devoid of any life. Hundreds of trees looked like they had been pulled out of the ground, while many others had been chopped to fine bits. Some were even on fire, which was slowly spreading along the wood strewn all around.

"Calm down me," Alaukik said, taking deep breaths.

"Now, let's analyse how this could have happened: I know it's not my lack of control, because I already have my eyes back. I also know it's not OG interfering with me, because he already fused with my consciousness. But then, if it's not either of those, what could it be? Why would I suddenly lose control over not only my powers, but my entire body?! The only silver lining in this event is the fact that I was able to keep her safe," he said, looking behind him to see a young girl sitting down on the ground, looking straight back at him.

"Although I have no idea how," he finished, as he began to ponder on his current problem. Suddenly, Alaukik heard something. Whipping his head around, he focused his mind and tried to figure out what the sound was, but he couldn't hear anything. Looking down at Divya, he saw that she was still in her stupor, so he just turned back around and said,

"I must have imagined it. Now, although I really want to go to Lalita and find a way to cure Divya quickly, I think I might need to make a stop along the way first," he said, as he quickly levitated* into the air. Focusing on the 100x100 area around him, Alaukik quickly began to reverse time, and in barely 20 seconds, the entire area was back to what it looked like, a healthy, vibrant forest.

"Now that that's done, it's time I visited my aunt once again," he said, immediately grabbing Divya's arm before teleporting away again.

However, had he turned around and looked at her for a second, he would have realised that the moment he held her arm, Divya's eyes shone with life, before dimming once again.

But no worries, this week will have no disturbances in the update schedule. And yes, I know, this one isn't a long chapter, but the next one will be, I promise. And as you all know by now, I always keep my promises. ALWAYS.

And as always, thank you for reading, and have a great day ahead!
