Breezing through 4th stage pagoda trial

A year passed by.

Inside Dao heart tempering pagoda.

Yang wen after reaching mystic immortal realm inside the pagoda thought he could finally finish the first stage of the trial but was given a reality check when many mystic immortal came and ambush him.

Yang wen was ejected out the pagoda.

Smiling wryly Yang wen thought to himself.

'knowing you needed to ask for help from family friends and allies to deal with your enemies doesn't help at all inside the trial my pride grew too high, I need to be careful of it.

'Although the trial stimulated my emotion it was indeed right after being reborn into a powerful family I've gotten a hidden pride and arrogance which grew with time I need to learn how to control my emotion, on earth sin of pride was supposedly called the toughest sin to overcome.'

"Yang wen" called out a young boy around the same age as him who came sprinting towards him

"What's the matter little Kong," said Yang wen with a smile.

This young man is Yang kong his mother is the little sister of patriarch Yang Gou and his father is a talented rogue cultivator who married into the family hence he took the surname of Yang family although many elders oppose of this eventually they succumb.

He is one of the few relatives who is close to him as the competition is too fierce inside the Yang family and after he fails in passing the first stage even after a year, many elders grew discontent with him as they expected a lot from him.

He was expected to be talented since he has shown how intelligent he is since birth and to top it off he was the one to design the Pagoda.

But his recent failure in the trial made his reputation bad inside the family.

A few younger generations although they're older than him by a few years they have reached 2nd trial half a year ago which made his situation worse.

But Yang wen didn't mind, Everyone will have a stage where they will be stuck for a long time in one of the Seven deadly sin trials.

"Yang wen stop adding little in front of my name, I'm older than you," said fiercely Yang Kong.

Yang wen woke up from a daze after hearing him and he smile happily and said.

"Little Kong what's wrong with calling you by your name I remember you lost the bet so I'm your big brother" with a refreshing smile Yang wen said

A few months back Yang Kong saw him practicing with a sword so he request a sparing match and Yang wen told him that he will only accept if they made a bet.

Yang wen barely won after dueling him and said he will be the big brother from now on so he could bully someone.

Being the youngest in the main family he thought at least now I have someone to bully I need to let out my frustration once in a while after all I'm only human he thought happily.

"hmph" Yang kong grunts in response, he knows that he can't win an argument against this little devil.

"Anyway let's head to the training grounds," said Yang kong.

"I just came out of the pagoda and need to rest for a week, you should go and practice with the other kids," said Yang wen

"Why do you keep going to that pagoda every week, it's better to practice martial arts for the upcoming body tempering when you reach the age to start cultivation," said Yang kong

Yang wen can understand him, the trial is tough it makes you experience the vicissitudes of time, and dying in the trial isn't a pleasant experience, and all the pain you receive might break your mind.

So currently a few younger generations and the golden core realm and above cultivator of the family uses it.

The elder's discontent mainly stems cause of the expectations as he has shown too much of his intelligence in many areas for the family to develop by submitting a report and some wanted to suppress him for their benefit.

Another year flew by.

A young boy with black hair was ejected outside the pagoda and the crystal indicating the passing of the first trial sin of pride lit up.

A few bystanders saw this and were quite impressed even some of the guards admire his determination.

Yang wen slowly open his eyes and said.

"Pride is an empty shell although it gives you absolute confidence it doesn't grant you invincibility but bittersweet loneliness.

Only with humility can you overcome the pride in your heart"

As Yang wen said this his mind entered a trance like state and a knot in his heart was removed making him calm and peaceful and he felt like a barrier was removed.

Yang wen woke up and smile.

"Congratulations little wen" said a surprised elder with white hair and blue eyes who looked like a mortal

"Thank you elder Lu" Yang wen cupped his fist to salute

Elder Lu waved his hand and told him no need to be so formal.

Yang wen was happy with his result and the elder Lu mentioned here is a formation expert who is one of the few involved in making the pagoda while also being the one to guard it.

Yang wen went to visit both his parents and told them news of his breakthrough in the pagoda.

After resting for a month to rest and continue challenging the trial.

Another year flew by.

Yeng wen was ejected and the light to the second stage sin of envy lit up.

"Envy is the opposite side of pride.

Acknowledge your envy and low self-esteem.

Envy is a form of jealousy.

Practice gratitude for what you have.

Let envy fuel self-improvement."

Yang wen said with enlightenment and his mind sublime.

Although Yang wen never said it he was extremely jealous of the original mc cheats and talent, after passing the sin of envy trial he managed to remove this conflict in his heart and gain confidence in himself.

A Year flew by.

Yang wen experience many things in the third trial sin of gluttony with ups and down he was drowned with alcohol for a long time but he managed to conquer yet another trial.

After 4 years many people saw the benefit of the pagoda, especially for the golden core realm, and above so many elders forced their younger generation to pass the trials some of the kid's minds broke but it didn't stop them as the benefit was clear after experiencing few bottlenecks in higher realms.

The third trial sin of gluttony orb lit up indicating the passing of the trial.

Yang wen who was ejected stood up.

"Mortal eat to live, not live to eat.

While the wealthy indulge in worldly desire

The same can be said for a cultivator.

Although cultivation gives you the ability to live without eating, many people still indulge in worldly desires.

Food is taken to support life, but not to the extent of enslaving us to the impulses of desire.

Moderation is the key to overcoming gluttony.

Yang wen said as he felt peaceful and his mind enter a peaceful state.

"This pagoda is well made, achieving enlightenment is extremely hard and rare as far as read in some of the history books in the library"

Yang wen as usual didn't get arrogant about his achievement as he knows what await him in the future so controlling his emotion is one of his main tasks with a strict routine of practicing martial arts while bathing in rare herbs and weekly visiting the pagoda he manages to achieve his current achievement.

So like that, another year passed.

"I'm going to turn 15 in a month, before that I will pass one more trial," said Yang wen.

As he walks to the entrance of the Dao heart tempering pagoda.

After a few weeks, the fourth stage sin of sloth lit up indicating someone passed the trial.

Many onlookers from Yang family elders to younger generations who passed by went to look and saw a young man with black hair, a black pupil dressed in a white robe with black lines, ejected outside the pagoda.

"Sloth is the enemy of oneself.

It hinders self-development and one of our purpose and goals.

A living being Demons, God, or humans

with free will is not perfect and carry their sins.

Only with Persistence, courage, and fortitude can we overcome the sin of sloth."

Yang wen said a gleam in his eyes as he gains enlightenment for his purpose and plans for his future.

Sloth was a tough trial for him as everyone carries this sin only with persistence on not giving up can you overcome this trial.

"I'll rest for a few weeks it's time for my cultivation journey to start"

"Little wen congratulations I never thought you'd be able to pass the fourth trial so quickly you've even passed more trials than some of the elders," said elder Lu with a chuckle.

"Thank you, Elder Lu, after passing the sin of pride

And gaining enlightenment it became a bit easier for me to pass the trials" said while cupping his fist to salute.

"Not many people have the will to keep on going to the trial every week I see you have great determination I'm sure you'll achieve great success," said Elder Lu

As he thought to himself that this lad's will is strong enough not to break after all not many people can withstand suffering in the trial.

"Go and take a rest it's not good to have your mortal body staying up all-day without proper rest," said elder lu.

"I understand, Elder I'll take my leave now" cupped his fist and bowed politely, and walked away.

After a few weeks.

A knocking noise sounded and Yang wen allowed the guard to enter.

"Second young master, the Patriarch summon you to the main hall," said the guard.

"I understand I'll get dressed immediately," said Yang wen.

"Little wen, follow me

Spiritual roots testing hall.

Inside the hall stood a pillar in which 15 orbs with different colors stood in different directions connected to the pillar.

"Young master Wen come and place your hands here to determine your spiritual roots," said Elder bao, stroking his beard while his eyes contain expectations.

Yang wen nods and walks slowly near the pillar and put his hands in the middle of the pillar where there's a circular orb connecting 15 different orbs

'Zinnnng'

A loud noise came and the orbs shone..

Honestly, if I didn't receive Taoist_azure_sword comment I don't think I'll continue writing.

I lack motivation and suffer the sin of sloth.

I'll upload one more chap today after a few hours of writing.

Btw im casually writing this till chapter 50 and if I somehow manage to get a contract ill write it seriously hope I won't get bored before reaching chapter 50 XP.
